So many gave their lives, remember them, always....

And asking for blessing of YOUR country and YOUR people all over the world exclusively is exactly YOUR problem:rolleyes:

This must be one world sooner or later, or WE all won't get OUR -and this includes YOU as well- problems solved. Before YOU don't realize this, YOU will be part of the problem - and not of the solution.
 This reminds me so much of my 4 year old daughter-When I tell my son that I love him, sometimes she says "Well I guess you don't love ME then". ::sigh::
Like I tell her, just because I love your brother that doesn't mean I don't love you, too. I do!
Just because I say God Bless America, doesn't mean I don't think other countries should be blessed too.
It's amazing that this would have to be explained.

Dan, loved the photos, thank you very much.

And please show me just WHERE this is done?

I don't think I have ever heard ANYONE on these boards (or anywhere else) ask for God's blessings EXCLUSIVELY for AMerica or Americans.

That is your inappropriate & fallacious interpretations.

Our PROBLEM is the reticence of other countries to hold the appropriate forces accountable for the evil they do.

9/11 was not the fault of America. Neither was the Khobar Towers, the USS Cole, The 1993 WTC bombing, the Bali nightclub bombing, the recent tragedy in Russia, etc., etc., ad nauseum.

But it's easier to SAY it is (which you repeatedly imply) than it is to confront the problem. It's easier to engage in illegal business in contravention of imposed sanctions (which your fine country & France did with Iraq & Saddam Hussein) than it is to confront the problem.

And frankly, your Euro-Centric arrogance is getting to be quite a bore......................

First: It is 'Ad Nauseam' and not 'Ad Nauseum'. Using Latin correctly can make you appear smart. Spelling it wrongly is simply embarrassing.
Second: We don't intend to interfere with your monopoly on arrogance ;)
Third: If 'God bless our country and all our people all over the 'world.' doesn't exclude the rest of the world, what else  'God bless our country and the rest of the world' would be appropriate to avoid misunderstanings or presenting you as self-centered.
Fourth: We were as shocked about 9/11 as you, we also lost people in WTC, we also fought -and are still fighting- in Afghanistan. But life must go on. For your info: Since 9/11 more than 100,000 Americans died by violence in the USA (Average is 40,000 per year) - I see no-one fighting against that.
Fifth: It may come as a surprise for you, but we didn't fund Saddam in the 80ies. If you want to know who did, ask Rumsfeld.
Sixth: YOUR problem is credibility, because you only hold countries accountable if they are evil AND have oil.
Seventh: Having seen all the protestors in NYC, I still have the hope that the USA will find its way back into the community of nations, instead of separating itself more and more.

I wonder how many people just clicked that ever-so-handy "ignore" button.....

Dan, thanks for posting those beautiful, and very moving, pictures.

Thank you, Dan - we must never forget,
and how I feel for the post'r that does
not want to.
I posted last night on a thread about
the horrible attacks on the children in Russia,
but after reading the posts here I wanted
to say it again, here is a portion:

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
... I need to make myself remember
- AMERICA NEEDS TO MAKE ITSELF REMEMBER -
that this is what our war really is about,
and I'm not talking about Iraq,
and I'm not intending to make this political,
I'm talking about the Muslim extremists that hate our
way of life, that hate anyone who tries to change
their law, or stop it from being implemented
- even if their law is not wanted by the people.
Because that is where their mindset is...
These evil men & women have twisted their own beliefs,
they hide behind the Koran
(and I speak of terrorists - those who intend harm -
not your innocent neighbors & friends).
These evil villains claim victory by the blood of children.
THEY ARE COWARDS!!

I spent 7 months as a volunteer at Ground Zero,
I held countless strangers, all New Yorkers,
as they wept and gave me the priviledge
of praying for them.
I feel their tears on my neck now, I feel their
grip as they hug me back and won't let go.
I smell & taste the stench that coated my
throat & my sinuses for 5 days, when I could
finally smell & taste food again.
I walked the interior of Ground Zero many,
many nights, while the fires still burned,
and I served the firefighters & police officers
of that great city - I WILL NEVER FORGET THEIR
FACES, I WILL NEVER FORGET THE OVERWHELMING
SADNESS, I WILL NEVER FORGET THEIR ANGER...

America has no idea of the real impact
9/11 had on that city and the surrounding
communities.
How many marriages were destroyed?
How many children turned to drugs?
How many suicides?
The answer to each question is: MANY.
I know whereof I speak...

We must protect ourselves, and we must protect
this great country for future generations.
Please don't ever forget how STUNNED the
ENTIRE WORLD was when we "fell."
Yes, some were jubilant, but in all seriousness
there were dozens and dozens of countries
large & small that tasted the real fear that
if this could happen to America, then who
is NOT vulnerable?

And I will not forget the words of our
Jewish friends in Israel - they mourned with us,
but on 9/12 gave this warning:
You are now like us - Anytime, Anywhere, to Anyone.

The world MUST remember what these
terrorists are capable of, what their intent is...
I'm not talking about Americans holding onto
or giving into hatred, that's what the terrorists want.
They are energized by it.

I'm talking about "once burned, twice shy,"
and "fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice,
shame on me."

Anger is a God-given emotion.
The emotion itself is not a sin, it's what you do with the
anger that matters, and we cannot stand
idly by & hope we can "work it out" and
"lets find out why they hate us & try to make friends."
How can you negotiate, and why would you,
with people who not only kill children but
torment and torture them?

And in case you haven't heard just how evil
these men & women in Russia were to the children...
... I feel the need to share the
following, and it is only a small portion,
but it reveals how evil the cowards
that invaded that school were:

The terrorists made mothers choose
which child they would take when they first
let 30 hostages go.
When the mothers said they wouldn't leave any
child behind, that they would stay, the terrorists
told them that if they didn't leave with one
child they ALL would be killed immediately.
The mothers had to leave their screaming children behind...
Children fainted from the heat, and were
forced to drink their own urine.
The terrorists killed 10-20 people right off
(can't remember exact #), and then brought
in one corpse and held it up for the children
to see, and told them & their mothers that
if the children made a sound they would be killed.
Bodies of children riddled with bullets were
found in the gym where they had been kept hostage.
There are at least 80 more children in grave
condition lying in Russia's hospital beds right now,
this is not including the other, less threatening
injuries.
The official Russian line is that there were less
than 500 people taken hostage,
but at least one eye witness said there were
closer to 1,000 women & children, because
the first day of school is a festival.
Edited to update count: Russia today said there were 338 killed, 428 hospitalized, and 260 still unaccounted for.
155 children are dead tonight,
killed by cowards...
Countless more have lost their mother/aunt/sister,
and lay in beds waiting for the pain to end.

If I have offended, please forgive me.
I know my diatribe is choppy, it's late...
I do not hate anyone on this earth,
I want everyone to know that God loves
them & has a wonderful plan for their life.
But He does not suffer fools or evil lightly...

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

And to our German "friend,"
We ask God to bless America because those of
us who believe in the God of the Bible recognize
that He is the One who makes or breaks nations.
And before you or anyone else gets angry that
I would dare invoke God on behalf of my country,
YOU can ask Him to help your own country, too!
We don't own the monopoly on God,
and we don't own the monopoly on arrogance!
We ARE a great nation, and we LOVE our country!
If that makes us arrogant, so be it - but I would
hope that you as a German would feel proud of
your country and work to make it stronger, as well
as the French, the English, the Japanese, etc...

And those who love God pray for ALL PEOPLE,
but as Americans can't we put one, small post
on a vacation board and pray for our nation
without being called arrogant?
Would you call your neighbor arrogant if
on the anniversary of his loved one's death he
prayed for their family and not yours?

And to the post'r who called this "harping,"
I am so sad for you... I am so sad for any victim
who reads that...
And just in case you missed something,
the war on terror has not ended,
we are STILL TARGETS - just ask the children in Russia

Thanks Dan!
The angel & the firefighter always gets to me

Thanks for posting Dan, It is my belief that we need to remember.

Your title though, gives me pause....
the brave firemen and policemen did indeed gave their lives, selflessly..... the rest had their lives stolen... they were murdered.

*sighs* Remember them yes, but stop harping on it. I've heard so much about it that it no longer has much impact on me except to make me tired of seeing yet another post on it, yet another tv show about it, yet another newspaper reporting on it, politicians using it to forward or detract from their own agenda's and worse.

It's time to let the dead rest. It's time to say goodbye and go on with your life.

Wow.

Unfortunately, I think too many agree with this statement. . .totalia was just bold enough to state it.

I disagree.

It's very important to remember the victims of 9-11. It is very important to, as you say,"harp" on the subject. It's a fitting memorial to the victims to keep them in our hearts. And it's very important to always remember the nature of our enemy whose goal is the end of our existence.

To me, this isn't "harping", it's a perfect response to on a national and individual level to the worst crime ever committed against us. If we forget this, we do so at our own risk.

Just because we go on with our lives doesn't mean we'll ever forget. If we forget we let the terrorists win and for the sake of those who were murdered for no reason, that can't happen. Trust me, dealing with people who only want to forget is incredibly painful for a whole lot of us. I will never forget, and it's the same for thousands of others.
Dan thank you for posting the pictures. Brought me to tears, but thank you still. Very moving.

They will be in my heart forever, I will never forget 9/11 and what happened and I will honor them and the brave Fireman and Police who gave their lives trying to save them on 9/11. True Americans trying to help others .....My Heroes!!!!

God Bless our American Heroes....God Bless the USA

I don't think it was a bold statement, I think it was an insensitive thing to say, especially to those of us who were personally touched by this horrendous act. For those of us who walk in the city every day, travel by train, go in elevators it is clear in our minds. I'm sure for many of us not a day goes by, that while we're on the trains or the elevators or in office buildings that the thought of something once again happening may occur. So, many of us have no choice but to remember. And yes, the dead are resting, but unfortunatly we weren't able to say goodbye and for some of us it can be pretty hard to go on with our lives with this dark cloud hanging above us. I for one will never forget and I'm sure many of us won't and don't want to forget either.

Thank you, Dan. I believe we should never forget.

luvthatduke-I agree with everything in your post and you said it very well. Thank you.

You are right. "Bold" was a poorly chosen euphemism for insensitive and distasteful.

Thanks, Dan. I hadn't seen these before. We will be remembering and praying for the families of all.
