So many flowers, so little time! 3/13 So many choices so little time! Food updates!

Ok so I thought there were some fabulous beach club pictures but I see Christine just teased us and took them down! What's up with that?

:rotfl:

YAY for new swimsuits! I have have ordered something myself but then again, I have a bit of a sickness when it comes to swimsuits and end of year sales. Actually not really, I'm upgrading my new Y membership to a family one and realized that my poolside options really aren't all that great for the Y so ordered a couple of things that are mildly more practical for family swim nights.

:rotfl:

I still need a new cover-up though and ideally another pair of capri's. I did get a bigger SD card though, so even though my pics may suck, I can take lots of them!!!

Hey, I think we should do something like Liesa did with the tenets of touring and confessions...in a get to know your travel mates exercise.

Like two of her tops ones were...no pictures or laughing at arm flab and...she gags when she brushes her teeth.

Really? I would so love to see them. I can't wait to not only see the beach club, but be there FINALLY!

That's a fun idea.
I'll have to agree with the arm flab thing.

I think the worst thing I do is get up early for coffee and a run. Do you think everyone will give me grief for that? I will try to be very, very quiet! :rolleyes1

And, I hope I don't snore, but you better tell me if I do. Jen snored big time on our Sept trip, so if I was snoring in that room, no one heard it!

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting excited! :woohoo: I see that Flower & Garden details are starting to be released. I can't wait for the pictures to start trickling in. (Info below from wdwinfo.com)

New in 2011, the popular home and garden decorating channel HGTV will sponsor the Epcot International Food and Garden Festival...As part of this sponsorship, HGTV hosts will be presenting at the Festival on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, in the Festival Center. Mondays - Thursdays other flower and garden experts will present. All presentations will be at noon and 3 pm

When we're there the feature expert is:
April 29-May 1: John Gidding (Curb Appeal: The Block), The Design Process: Curb Appeal Projects from Concept to Construction
I don't know him but my house could use some curb appeal so maybe I'll check it out?

Toy Story 3 characters Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Lotso will make their Flower & Garden debut at the EPCOT main entrance as seven-foot-tall topiaries. In an effort to stay true to the strawberry-scented belly of the Lotso character in the successful film, the area surrounding Lotso will smell like strawberries.

This sounds cute... although not so sure about Lotso...

Characters from the Summer 2011 release Cars 2 will be featured as topiaries in the World Showcase Plaza. There are also plans for a special celebration in anticipation of the film's June 24th release.

This doesn't do much for me... never seen the movie. But am sure it will be cute!

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger will occupy a Hundred Acre Wood display in between Future World and World Showcase.

This I like! :thumbsup2

The Healthy Living Garden will be focused on helping guests develop a healthy lifestyle, this garden will "focus on healthful eating, fitness, relaxation and meditation."
This could be interesting. I told myself I would try my hand at a vegetable garden this summer... we'll see how that goes.

Special Weekend Celebrations:
Fresh from Florida Farmer’s Market salute - 4/29 - 5/1
This sounds like it could be fun. I'm getting more and more into eating organic/local.

Looks like our Flower Power concert will be Paul Revere and the Raiders. Can't say I've heard of them... :rolleyes1

OK. So, those Beach Club photos. I did post some and then went to edit and lost them. So here's another try. I sure hope you guys like it as much as I do. Although if you don't that's ok b/c I don't need any competition for reservations.

These photos are all from the Villas building. I have lots of pics of the main BC lobby but will have to search for those.

You can't see well in the below photo but the painted detail on the floor is beautiful!

The elevator bank. Because what kind of DIS'er would I be without documenting EVERYTHING? ;)

I love this room. Is it just me or can you envision a bottle (or two...) of wine and just curling up and chatting late one night?

A close-up of the painting. Would love this in my family room...

The light fixture, of course!

Perhaps next time we'll see inside a studio and more Beach Club views. But in the meantime... not a Beach Club view but a favorite Disney view. Can't wait for that margarita! :goodvibes

Loving the pictures of the Beach Club, I'm so divided about where I want to stay in June...BCV or BWV...we'll have to see who wins out LOL!! If either does LOL!!

You're going in June too!? :worship::worship: Lucky girl! :goodvibes

By the way, ladies. Know our trip isn't for 2+ months but as I said I'm getting excited and thus into planning mode.

I will most likely be placing a garden grocer order for soda, water, breakfast items and snacks so if you want to add anything to my order, let me know! :)

Nah, I don't snore unless I've got a really awful cold. Or at least that's the only time anyone has ever said I do but then again, Jeff would drown out everyone. :rotfl:

I get up early for coffee....I'll probably go for a walk while you run actually. I need some wake up time before I'm much good to anyone. Of course that may depend on HOW early you get up and HOW late we were out the night before? :rotfl:

I may check out the fitness center, we'll see. What I'd like to do is a little pilates so may just do that in the room while you are running, that's a perfect way to start the day for me!

I'm going to say we have to avoid pictures of chin waddle. Arm flab isn't an issue but the chin is.

I will also confess that I have a weird eye condition that if it flares up, I will probably wear a eye mask to bed. Not because I'm channeling my inner Doris Day but because it helps quite a bit. I probably won't have to, the humidity actually helps them but you never know!

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting excited! :woohoo: I see that Flower & Garden details are starting to be released. I can't wait for the pictures to start trickling in. (Info below from wdwinfo.com)

Me too! It was SO rainy and windy here yesterday I was dreaming of Florida all day!

Ugh, I need to take care of what I have first, I've been SOOOO bad with it this year. Losing curb appeal by the day I think.

I forgot about the strawberry scented belly, that should be interesting

It will be cool if they are current characters but if they aren't ones you know, that will be a little odd if you ask me

Oooh, I wonder if there will be yummy things to eat at the farmers market? that would be cool.

Ok, you've never heard of them because....you're too young. LOL!

You have heard them, just didn't realize it I bet.

Love that room!!!

I'm excited to take the boat to DTD, I've never done that!

I probably will! I was just thinking about that and wondering if we should get one, it would certainly save if we combined our orders as it might end up getting the free delivery that way.

Are there blenders in the villas?

Beautiful pictures of the Beach Club, Christine! Can I be a stowaway?

You sure can Jackie!!! Come on down in the beginning of May then you can close the month out with the Stormtroopers!! :rotfl:

Beautiful pictures C!! I am beyond excited for May!! :goodvibes I can't wait to stay there....haven't stayed there since 2007 I think. :cutie:

I don't snore....that I am aware of  No, really I don't.

MEK you will be fine with your morning runs....just don't ask me to join you!! Hahaha just kidding....running isn't my thing ;)

I haven't thought about groceries C....I will let you know. I have been shopping for my OL and have been filing it up with goodies :thumbsup2

Tracy

Beautiful Beach Club pictures!!!! I am SURE everyone will love it - how could you not? And that location...:cloud9:

I'm getting very excited for the F&GF too. They have some really neat events and plans this year! I don't think I heard about the Hundred Acre Wood display, that sounds adorable!

C-

Those are GREAT pictures. I can't wait to take a few of my own and I am definitely up for hanging out in that cute little room and drinking some wine. I seriously can't wait for our trip. I will be so glad when the end of the year comes.

I am very excited about F&G. I really want to explore every little detail and I want another palm flower and Yes - I would like to order water so perhaps I can add that to your list!

OK - I MUST stop DISing now so I can get to sleep. I have a student Nurse Practitioner with me tomorrow and it really sucks my energy dry. She is a very nice lady but she is literally up "my you know" what all day long. It's a bit too much for me.

There is some action on this PTR, a good sign that your trip is coming closer! :thumbsup2

I would really love to see Epcot during Flower & Garden, it sounds like a great event! And those Beach Club pictures are wonderful! I guess I need to stay there sometime...

C...you mentioned that you were going to try your hand at vegetables this year. May I suggest trying an Earthbox? :thumbsup2 I have 6 I think. 3 for tomatoes (2 plants in each) and the rest are other veggies. I have deer and other creatures and so I really cannot have a garden in the ground in my yard.
These are GREAT! For one thing the soil is optimal for growing instead of digging in the ground and mixing soil etc. I have had great success with all of my plants...the tomatoes grow like crazy :goodvibes

All this and I really don't put a lot of effort into it....:rotfl2: I start off good in the spring/early summer but then get bored and lazy about watering and stuff but it's all okay because they all still live :rotfl:

Wow! This looks very cool. And perfect for me who was excited for fresh tomatoes but not so much about "working the land." Do you get the whole kit or just the container and add your own soil etc.? Do you have them on a deck or something? I have to figure out where to put them that Molly won't be snacking on them.

I cannot wait for spring!!! :)

I buy the soil, fertilizer and something else....I can't remember what it is but it is in the directions  The good thing is that the soil is good for about 3-5 years so there is really only some "work" once ;)
I have them on my back deck....funny you mentioned Molly snacking. I had strawberries growing once and I look over to see Ziggy munching away :rotfl2:
I usually grow cucumbers too...I even canned pickles once :rotfl::rotfl: I don't think I shared them with anyone though :rolleyes1

Henry would probably get a kick out of growing some veggies!! :thumbsup2

Who knows....we might get some great ideas during F&G!! (I just typed F&W by mistake....I always have great ideas then :rotfl:)

Tracy

I think I'll definitely be giving these a try. Since you seem to have a green thumb, are there certain veggies that are easier/lower maintenance to grow than others?

We had such a nice taste of spring the last few days but now it is back to freezing. :sad2:

Tomatoes are my specialty :rotfl2: I grow all kinds....yellow, heirloom, cherry...you can plant two per box...They are the least maintenance I think... The cucumbers take up a lot of room because they really wander. I have also grown brussel sprouts ;)...they just take forever...not really ready until the fall.

My neighbor grows mainly lettuce, tomatoes and peppers.

I know someone else who grows herbs...maybe cilantro and basil. I think that is a bit of a waste though..you can do those in small pots.

I also plant a few pumpkins in the ground. This way I don't have to mow where they grow :rolleyes1 and the deer and rabbits enjoy them when they mature.

Honestly I don't have a green thumb...I am really just winging it!! :rotfl2:

Tracy

Spring cannot arrive soon enough for me! I may have to be on the lookout for a Mickey garden statue to accompany my vegetable garden trials.

I've only been for F&G once... back in 2006. SO pretty....

Have a great trip Melissa!!! Hope you have a wonderful time with your sister, nieces, and of course DD the birthday girl!!

Disney hasn't yet decided to make this a permanent offering but the CM I talked to seemed to feel like it was pretty likely to be made a permanent tour. I've read a few reviews now and it looks pretty cool. Although I am a little worried that I'll be the first person to test the limits of the harness & safety features. Not to mention the whole harness set up is not exactly attractive. :rolleyes1 If there's word of an accident in early May, you'll know it was me. :sad2:
