We are planning a trip for March and there is lots of availability but it seems like so many DVC are under construction. We are mainly doing MK & AK and I want a good kid pool for my 18 month old.

BWV - Refurb till April
VWL - I read about pool closed for 2 years and construction near building for new DVC

That leaves us with a choice of
SSR
AKL - Kidani
OKW
BLT - didn't want to spend that many points
BWV - not available

I am torn on what to do AKL is such a long bus ride to MK
SSR has so many bus stops
OKW doesn't have a good kid pool
Could we get lucky and BWV may get done early?

Where should we stay?

I would pick Kidani, you want to go to AK, and the pool feature with the sprays and run through things seems just right for your little one.

I would add Polynesian Villas & Bungalows to your list, even though it may cost more points than you prefer. The Poly has a great water play area for kids. The PVB longhouses are very close to the Transportation and Ticket Center, so you can easily catch a monorail to MK or Epcot, or even take the ferry to MK. Yesterday, we took a bus from the Poly to Animal Kingdom Park and it took 20 minutes to get there, including making a stop at the Grand Floridian.

I would pay the added points for BLT.

How many times are you going to go to DAK? once is most likely. You will visit MK more often.

BLT is walking distance to the MK. An important feature when you want to bring the toddler home for a nap.

BLT also has a decent kiddie pool and a zero entry edge on the big pool.

Have you considered BCV? Personally I have a goal of staying at all the DVC resorts so I look forward staying at resorts I never have before. Nevertheless you should definitely put BWV on your waitlist and if that doesn't come through I would pick AKV. Good luck.

How about an off site time share? They can be had really cheap. Lots of room and the kid pools are wonderful. I've had friends tell me I'm crazy to own DVC because their kids LOVE the pools and don't want to go to the parks. I am pretty sure that the off site places have a bus once or twice a day to the theme parks. Or you can rent a cheap car. Why pay such high Disney prices .I am assuming you want to rent points or are you an owner? If so, where do you own?

BWV is already over 65% done. It may not be done by March but likely it will be getting close. I assume your only chance of finding openings is for pool/garden view. If you are going for a studio, you could request the Village Green area or the Activity Lawn area since all the rooms in those locations are done. Moreover, even in locations where floors are still being worked on, you could request high floor because fifth and likely now 4th floor are done all around.

Suggested above is BCV but that is one to be wary of even if it were open (which I assume is unlikely). It is starting its refurb early next year and by March you could be in the thick of a construction zone in some of areas at BCV.

Of the others you suggest, I would lean toward Kidani. I am assuming you are going for a studio and, despite having great 1 and 2BRs and easy access to MK, BLT comes up short (litterally, since they are small) on the studios. Kidani's water play area for kids is ideal and being able to view animals is likelwise ideal. I have found the buses at AKL to be better than most. The trip to AK is only 8 to 10 minutes . The distance to MK is long but the trip is not bad including because AK has the advantage of having no stops at other resorts.

BLT also has a cute splash area for little ones. Perfect for an 18mo without having to worry about them on steps, etc. (at Poly).

Bcv was full, and I am doing a 1bd so went with BLT so we can walk to mk and they have lots of bars if my mom wants a break.
Since there is a good chance it will still be to cold to swim we didn't do SSR, I am wanting to stay there by the new Paddock pool at some point.
Also BLT seems best choice since we will not have a car this trip.
