Anybody have any experience with this? This is my third pregnancy and I have relatively easy pregnancies with no complications so I'm sure flying will not be an issue for my doctor. However, I've never tackled something like disneyland pregnant.

Hubbys family will all be going out for his grandpas bday and they all want to visit disneyland. I will have two toddlers in tow, but again lots of family around so they aren't my main concern. My main concern is being miserable, not fitting on rides with a giant preggo belly, and sore feet! I already told hubby I might need a wheelchair! Ha :moped:

Just looking to see if anybody else has done Disneyland very preggo !

(obvioulsy i know a lot of rides will be off limiits, not my concern really)

Such a tough subject, as placental abruption is a real possibility when you are so active, even after successful pregnancies. I would be sure to take breaks, and religiously do baby kick counts multiple times per day to monitor for something that has gone wrong. Be sure to be less worried about your sore feet and feeling miserable and more worried about your baby's health.

Obviously 99% of the time you will be fine regardless of what you do, but by taking it easy you can turn that 99% number into a much larger number.

I did it at 37 weeks, but I'm local. My advice is to take it easy, rest when you have to, stay HYDRATED, and we did end up getting a wheelchair. I avoided any ride that jerked around but had no problem on mild rides like IASW and all of the gentle omnimovers.

I would definitely invest in a couple pairs of really good shoes, that are roomy enough to handle a little foot swelling! Are you pretty active already? How far along are you right now? I would perhaps talk to your doctor about starting a walking routine to get you ready for walking the parks. Of course staying hydrated will be extremely important, as well as taking frequent breaks to put your feet up. (or just rent a scooter!) Since it sounds like you'll have older people in your party (hubby's grandpa is going to the parks?) I'm sure others in your group would welcome frequent rest breaks. I don't know about rides since it's been a little over 20 years since I last went to Disneyland, but on all the videos I've seen on youtube, there are lots of......um...... "pooh sized" people that seem to go on rides. (and the Disneyland websites puts a disclaimer on all the rides pregnant women should not ride) Since you've been pregnant before, you know your body's limits and what you can or cannot handle. Talk it over with your doctor, pace yourself, listen to your body, and have fun!!

When I was pregnant with my first, I went at about 36 weeks (I had an AP at the time). I made sure to know where First Aid was and how to get to the hospital (just in case!) I am sure I was one of those people that others would look at and think "WHY?" Because I could! I was with a friend and her two little ones and we took things relatively slow. Sat on the MT for a ride around the lagoon, went on some little kid rides, watched the shows, ate churros (yum!)... I had no problems fitting on the few things I did go on (although, I honestly can't remember what they were). Just like a seatbelt, make sure the bar fits over your lap and not your belly. Skip any rides that are more jarring (or might cause motion sickness if that's a problem for you) than the car ride there. And, drink lots of water. Listen to your body. Slow down when you need to, stop walking if you start getting pains, etc. You can always go rest in First Aid (with A/C) if it gets to be too much and you need a break. Take it slow and have fun!

I went when I was 28 weeks pregnant with #4. My only real advice is to listen to your body. We took lots of breaks (I napped every day), wore comfortable shoes, stayed hydrated, sat when I needed to and made sure to eat.

I went when I was pregnant but I was only 5 months pregnant. But still noticeable and I did light rides as we took our then 4 year old. I rode everything he did except a few rides like bumper cars in Bugs Land, Teacups, etc.

I don't remember feeling miserable but I wasn't as far along. Just pay attention to what you need, rest, drink water, take breaks, etc. Hope it's still fun. :wizard:

Just found out last night my dd is expecting and will be 33 weeks on our trip in December!

I agree with everyone else to just take it easy and have fun and ignore any judge-y, stare-y people you may see! :)

Mostly wanted to post and say that I went 13 weeks along, and rode almost everything with permission from my doctor (not the super bumpy, jarring ones, etc) and my now 2.5 year old is the biggest thrillseeker/adventurer you ever saw. Nothing in my house is unclimbable to him. Nothing. So beware ;)

Abent: Congratulations! :)

You might check into a belly support band. I got mine for about $20 at Target. It was a life saver when I had to do a lot of walking. Congratulations, and enjoy your trip!

Congratulations! I think if you go in with the attitude of being there with family, taking it easy and listening to your body - and not trying to see how far you can push yourself - you will be fine! I went pregnant and my little bit of add on advice is to remember there are rides which seem very mellow that may not be. TSMM really whips around the corners from game to game. On both Pirates and IASW - you know those boats get backed up some times and the boat behind you hits into you - usually pretty light but sometimes a little harder - you just can't control that. Same thing on Autopia unless you make sure someone with you is behind you. Still plenty to do and enjoy - like all the yummy food :goodvibes

Congrats! Have a safe, fun & relax trip.

You have a lot of good advice from fellow disers, I would only add that at 33 weeks I wouldn't ride POTC, just because the two drops going down might feel uncomfortable and I'm not sure it's 100% safe.

It's actually fun to be pregnant at DL. Somehow your schedule is more flexible and you are able to enjoy simple things and notice some new ones. :goodvibes

My daughter went with twins at 28 weeks and ended up on bedrest for the rest of the pregnancy. Please be careful. Rent a scooter, they are cheap and fun!

We took our 15 month old when I was 26 weeks pregnant and had a really nice time. I think I stopped at every bathroom though! :) Pirates seemed like it would be okay, but the drops ended up feeling much more intense than they usually do!

Congrats! The last time I went was when I was about as pregnant as you and had a 2 year old in tow. My recommendation is take it easy. I told everyone ahead of time this was going to be a nice slow trip. Usually I feel like everyone is in a rush to do all the rides etc. This time we did a lot more of checking out the sites and exploring. I was able to ride almost all the rides that my 2 year old was able to ride without any issues, big belly and all. Have fun and drink LOTS of water. :thumbsup2

There's already so much good advice here that all I have to add (which I know I've already shared elsewhere on disboards) is that you might consider getting a Guest Assistance Pass at City Hall. My SIL recommended I do that when DH took me at 7 mos. pg in late June '07. It really was a lifesaver. My feet where so grotesquely swollen there was no way I could endure lots of standing in line.
Like everyone else says, stay hydrated, take it easy, don't get overheated, and resist the temptation to eat too unheathily while there (you want to minimize heartburn and avoid constipation).
Have a GREAT time!!!! :)

I went at 36 weeks pregnant back in 2006, and beforehand we discussed the possibility of getting a wheelchair but ended up not needing it (I was still working until a week before my due date and he ended up staying being a 42 week baby anyways). I spent a lot of time taking my friends' kids who were 6-10 at the time on Buzz and Monsters Inc since they didn't want to do Space and TOT like DH and their parents.

Take it easy, and you'll be fine. You'll be able to go on all of the non-thrill rides.

The summer I was 7-8 months pregnant with my twins, I did a lot of DL and the local fair. I really needed a wheelchair, mostly because my stomach was really stretch, and it hurt to walk for too long.

So plan on a scooter/wheelchair. If you don't need it all the time, you can always park it somewhere and the return when you need a break.

I would recomend staying off the coasters. Even the minor ones and even Thunder Mountain Railroad. I would also avoid Indy and Mator Toe and Tower of Terror. The coasters can be rough enough. However when they emergency stop the g forces increase above normal operation.

I would eat Lunch at the Blue Bayou as it is garantted in side dining. Also Pizza Planet is inside and Taste Pilot Grill.
