So just how far south.....

That is ironic. Still snowing. And even faster. It sure is pretty

We need pictures!!

I do NOT want snow anywhere near here. I moved 1000+ miles south to get away from that stuff.

It's an ugly, cold, wet, gray day here today. Blech. :guilty:

Hey dzneprincess, I am in Columbus, GA and right now at 11:50am, it isn't even sticking, it is going to have to come down longer and get harder to accomplish anything.

I have friends in Mobile, AL and in Covington, LA and they are all getting snow there right now!

i know, right?! the weather here today reminds me of ohio. i'm freezing!
now i'm not so sure i'm up for the little road trip to see the snow! :lmao:

Op, we're in south Alabama - about 45 miles south of Montgomery - and it's been snowing here since about 5:30 or so this morning. We've now got a couple inches on the ground and it's coming down the hardest we've seen it yet. Our forecast was for 3-5 inches here. DH works in Dothan - about an hours drive south of here - and they were getting rain and sleet at first; snow didn't start there quite as early. I don't think they're supposed to get much accumulation, tho.

I'm in Savannah and we are expected to get a couple of inches for the first time in many, many years.

I was in 3 grocery stores this morning, and it didn't seem any more busy than usual. Wonder what will happen later after work lets out.

amatuers! ;):lmao::thumbsup2

have fun with the "snow" thats not enough to play in or anything but fun for you all to see since its not the norm!

Snow is on the way for us in Spartanburg, SC. 2-4 inches maybe. It wouldn't be that bad except there is 2 snow plows for the entire state!

2 inches doesnt need a plow, 30 degree weather and a few cars and its gone!

Let's see if I can post a video...ths is very major for us. DH just called - they've closed his office and he's on his way home! Yay! Ironically, the kids were already out of school today, because it was...a weather day! :lmao:

ETA - hey, I did it! Just click on the vid to watch. It's only about 40 seconds. It starts off with my poor confused doggies trying to figure out if they want to go out or not. LOL

Laurie, that is about the amount we have here in Columbus, it is coming down, but not too heavy. I am at work and it doesn't look like we are going to get to go home early. DH was off today and he is having a fit, we live in AL and he says the roads are pretty icy and the snow heavier and he wants me home.

Suzanne

right now, we're getting light rain. yay.

the snow is supposed to start here around 7 pm. and then snow off and on overnight. i hope that it sticks so at least my kids can play in the morning. my DD is desperate to see snow!

Don't kid yourself. We have plenty of fun in the snow. I guess in Denver you've never made a hairy snowman. That's a 2ft tall snow man made with snow rolled across pine straw. And our snowballs are also hairy! We have sleds that last just about forever and we use them to slide down the hill in road in front of the house.

One of the great things about living in the south is that we DON"T get 8 ft of snow. By next week we'll be back in the 50s, running around in our hoodies and Adidas rather than Polartec and clunky boots. We get a few inches of snow and everybody gets a holiday. :cool1: And in the summer we all go to the beach. Can't say that about Denver~

Who wants a snowplow? Don't need it, don't want it. I've got a fire going, black-eyed peas and turnip greens on the stove, getting ready to make corn bread, ham, and red eye gravy. Yessiree, I love the South :lovestruc

thats the fun part of denver, when it snows it snows but we also have 50 the next day, but when its 50 we dont need hoodies its shorts and tshirt weather! shoveling snow in thsirt and shorts is not uncommon!

WEll,I"m sure you could do that here. Speaking for myself, I wouldn't be caught dead in shorts. And it has nothing to do with winter.:rotfl: I saw kids at school yesterday in cargo shorts and it was 28 degrees.

hahahaha

my wife always says, looks as these damn kids shorts and no jackets when its like 20 outside going to school. but of course after school its 50 and nice out so I guess they suffer in morning so they arent hot after school.

Oh yes, there's plenty to play in! It's still really coming down here; we have nearly 4 inches now. The roads are still clear, but they will freeze over tonight. It should all be gone by tomorrow, since the high will be 45.

I *know* it's out there, but it still catches me off guard when I look out the window and see all that white instead of grass. I feel like the Cake Boss has come and covered my yard in fondant. :lmao:

ETA - that pic was taken about an hour ago. I obviously need to fix the date stamp on the camera!

Better to look cool even if you're freezing
