So, as some of you may know, I'm an Escape Bride (why did they call it that anyway?) :rotfl:

And Eoghan and I are going down last week in SEPT (arriving the 26th, leaving OCT 5th) and I have a question for all of you's...

So, obviously, we're going to go check out SBP (as I have no idea what it looks like in real life-never had the occasion to go by it before) and I was told we can go shopping in Franck's (I'm thinking favors, MM purse, perhaps a garter etc.) even though we can't have a planning appt...

Is there anything else you guys suggest we check out or research? I guess the only other obvious things would be to make a mental note of Morocco for our Dessert Party and maybe ask the manager of Jiko if we can sneak a peek in the Wine Room during our stay at AKL...

But it there anything else you can think of? I'm having a trial run with Patricia as well which I'm looking forward to...

I think that's it, but I don't want to miss any opportunity to check out anything I should because then we won't be in The World again until the wedding trip...

I am planning on picking up stuff for our welcome bags too and extra maps...

Let me know if you can think of anything else...I just wanted to bounce this off of you all....THANKS! :)

Lori

Lori -- I just wanted to point out that anything you see that you want to buy in Franck's has to be done through Disney Floral. There is nothing for sale there, just display.

I am sort of in the same shoes as you as I am going down in September and hoping to get some stuff accomplished. Here is what I am going to do:
1. Do the walk from the WP to the GF Convention Center to see if it is scenic and how long it takes/whether it is too long a walk. This will impact on some transportation issues.
2. Pick up park maps & park postcards for our welcome bags, as well as bags of mickey pretzels (my personal favorite! )
3. Check out the food at Gasparilla's to see if I want food from there for breakfast on the morning of our wedding.

It's actually fun to have a wedding to-do list for the non-wedding trip! :cloud9:

Sounds like you've got it all covered. The only other things I can think of are timing the walk to the altar area (if you're planning specific music for the processional and want to know how long it should be) and eating at any restaurants you want to check out beforehand. Also, we ate at a few specific restaurants on our planning trip b/c we knew we wouldn't be able to fit them in with all the other places we wanted to try on our honeymoon!

And make sure to take a million pictures of everything. SBP, the surrounding areas. Any food that you eat, anything. Later you're going to want to remember and won't be able to. I say take 100x more pictures than you normally would :lmao: (I might be a little crazy)!

I have actually been wanting to plan something like that too! If I get to go to WDW later this year I would really like to do some of these things. I wish escape brides got a real planning session :(, but there are some things to do. Like you suggested, visiting the sites, purchasing items for welcome bags, trying out restaurants, etc. It would also be nice to do an engagement shoot in the area! I'm looking forward to reading more ideas! Thanks for starting the thread Lori! :goodvibes
