Michigan agian?

Florida?

Any other thoughts?

Dang I wanted Arkansas to win tonight!

My DH thinks it should be Michigan, but my son thinks it should be a team that's won it's conference.

Doesn't matter because OHIO STATE will beat whoever they play.

:cheer2: :cheer2: GO BUCKS!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I can NOT imagine another "michigan game" around here. It is pure insanity, debauchery and chaos. One a year is too many.

As a Florida State fan it always pains me to see Florida do well (not nearly as much as it pains me to see Miami do well!) but Florida deserves it because they lost one game on a controversial call (in which they never surrendered a single touchdown to Auburn's offense, btw) and they won their conference - one of the major conferences featuring many top teams. Michigan is very good. Maybe better than Florida. But they didn't win their conference and also have one loss. So I'd put in the team with the same number of losses who actually did win their conference.

If college football had a playoff system we wouldn't have to worry about this crap every year. It is completely disgusting and vile that there is no playoff in NCAA Div I football just so the college presidents can get richer at the expense of fairness to the ath-uh-leets.

As for Ohio State being hands down better than everyone else and that they should coast through any opponent in the quasi-championship game: Oklahoma was supposed to be slaughtered by FSU. Ohio State was supposed to be slaughtered by Miami. Texas was supposed to be slaughtered by USC. That's why they play the game.

Florida, of course, silly!!!

My bulldog, who is named after our beloved Gators, was quite excited tonight during the game. He went from snoring to wiggling during each of the kids' "Gator Bait" scream-fests.

BTW, I live 15 minutes from Fayetteville, AR and thought that if I heard the "woo pig sooie" chant once more today I would expire. Good thing I'm moving in two weeks...that Gator flag outside might not make it to January, should we get a chance at Ohio State. :teeth:

I agree Michigan didn't win it's conference but it lost the conference title to the number 1 team by 3 points. How much better do you have to be to be number 2?

Totally agree which is why I think Michigan deserves it.

I have to agree with this post.

Sigh, as an Ohio State fan, I was really hoping for USC. Would have been a good game, I think. :sad2:

So now, personally, I'd rather see Florida, just because I don't want a Michigan rematch.

I think the SEC is often under rated and not given the chance they deserve. I also agree with the above poster who said WE NEED A PLAYOFF SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!

My husband still hasn't forgotten a few years back when LSU SHOULD have been #1!

I say give Florida the chance!

By the way if Michigan and Ohio State play and Michigan upsets Ohio then who is better?? Is Ohio State still #1 even though Michigan beats them or then does Michigan take #1? Or do they play ANOTHER game (I know they don't) to see who really is #1?

Yes, but the team that did win the Big Ten is currently #1 in the nation. Michigan went into Columbus, and almost beat them. Florida hasn't won the SEC in dominating fasion. Not at all. They lucked out of a few of those games. Heck, they almost lost to Tennessee, winning by a mere one point. (a point I REALLY wished coulda gone the other way. Go Vols!) They beat LSU by 13, and in football, 13 points really isn't a whole lot. They lost to freaking two-loss Auburn. They squeaked by Georgia. They beat South Carolina by only 1. Yeah, they put up 62 the next game, but that was to, OMG FEAR!!!!....Western Carolina, and probably one of the worst FSU teams in a while almost beat them for crying out loud. Not to mention they only beat Arkansas by 10.

Michigan demolished, I say again...DEMOLISHED several Big-Ten teams, such as Michigan State, Indiana, and Minnesota. (not to mention our non-confrence beatdowns of Central Michigan and Notre Dame) You didn't see us just squeaking by teams on the same scale as South Carolina. If Ohio State was in another confrence, we would have won the Big-Ten easy. However, they arn't, but they are the #1 team in the nation, and a guarenteed naitonal champion, who almost lost to Michigan at Columbus. I hear people saying that Michigan shouldn't get in because they didn't win their confrence. Well they lost to the almost given national champs by not a whole lot. (3 points) Like someone else has said, what more does it take? :confused3

Completely agree except for the last statement. There is a playoff system ready, they just can't figure out how to split up the profits.

...actually if I remember right, Ohio State and Miami was supposed to be a very close game, (which it was, and IMO the best national title game ever)...and USC-Texas was supposed to be close. I could be wrong though. :confused3

Boy I am in such terrible mood tonight! Little old ladies in nursing home would play better than my Trojans did tonight! I had no voice left after second half screaming at TV! I am just glad I changed my mind last month about going to LA to see it live. I would probably be attacking Booty!!
Anyway I believe Michigan deserves a second chance. Their last game against Ohio State was a very close game.

Florida should play. In all honestly, Michigan had their chance and they are not the Big 10 Champs. Florida won their conference and they have the same record as Michigan.

I admit, I wanted to see USC play as I think that would be a better game to watch, but since USC couldn't do it then I say it is Florida's turn.

Michigan did have their chance. Our game was for it all and both teams knew it!

I suppose we will find out shortly who will get the spot though.

It would be neat to see Michigan as I know that would make so many friends and family happy around these neck of the woods but secretly I'm a huge gator fan!!! :woohoo:

This whole BCS ranking system is a joke. When OSU beat Michigan at home and it was close why did Michigan drop to number 3? Shouldn't the number 1 team beat the number 2 team at home? It's like Michigan gets punished for what the BCS ranking system says SHOULD happen. And believe me, I'm the last person to be defending Michigan. Until there's a playoff, I don't care who plays who.
