"So is this when they bring out the Mickey Mouse cattle prods??" Final Thoughts 1/10!

Hey gelly!! You must be getting so excited!!! I would be. I was there last year in December and wish I was going back now!

I have to wrap up my TR from July as well, but have longer until my next trip - does that mean I get longer to finish the TR??

Glad to hear you're feeling better. Just in time right?

By the way, I don't think I commented before - that picture of Jack Jack with the sauce dripping from his mouth? ADORABLE!!!! Your boys are so cute!

Very excited!! I think I'll feel much better once this TR is finished. Like I can fully focus on the next trip! The timing couldn't be better on feeling better, that's for sure!!
Thanks for the compliment on Jack Jack's ketchup mouth pics. I thought they turned out cute as well! I think my boys are pretty cute myself! :goodvibes

I completely missed your last update.

I can totally understand how upset you were over them leaving the store. Dh has done this to me before. You realize everyone is probably just fine, but running around looking for them like that.. Geesh! It is kinda funny too though. ;)

It is funny now but man I was fuming then! I couldn't believe he'd leave without telling me!

I would've been a mess driving without the carseat, but no flames from me. You did what was safest at the time. :goodvibes He was much better off buckled in that car than trying to deal with the bus the ways things were. Those buses scare me enough as it is! We've yet to use one.

I was worried and watching him like a hawk the whole time but I know I would have been worried SICK if he'd been on the bus with Mr. I while Mr. I was trying to juggle the stroller and him at the same time. Jack Jack nearly hit his head on the hand rails on the tops of the old seats on a bus trip in January 2010 and that was with him in my lap and me holding onto him. So buses scare me a little bit too!

So glad to hear you're feeling better and hope you feel great during your Christmas trip! How exciting that it's sooo close!

Thanks!! Just 4 more days!!

That is such a cute pic!!!! I love how Jack-Jack has his arms around them both. And NO flames from me. (you'd be surprised how often kids do go without carseats in normal life-carseats weren't even required here in NYC about 5 years ago!)

I thought it was a cute pic too!! Honestly that pic is the only reason I even bothered to go into the whole not the bus putting him in the car without a car seat story. Just to show that pic!!
That's CRAZY that NYC just stared requiring them 5 yrs ago! What do people do when taking cabs? Just carry the carseat around with them? Now I'm all curious!

Sorry to hear about all the craziness with Mr. I. :sad2: Seriously, men just don't get it sometimes. :rotfl:

Coulda choked him! :lmao: And the look on his face when he said 'I texted you!'

Seriously!!! My bag was sitting right THERE! on top of the stroller!

MEN!

:rotfl2:

So glad you are feeling better!!! Your trip is so stinkin' close-I hope you are getting all those last minute things done!

So glad I'm feeling better too!!!! There's no way I could have gone and enjoyed myself the way I was feeling even 2-3 wks ago. So the timing really did work out perfectly!

I wish I could say that I am. But the list is growing longer instead of shorter. Just not feeling the whole rush energy to get it all done yet. Hoping that getting this TR done will help. Maybe Sunday and Monday. I think part of me is scared to get it all done too early and then sit around with time CRAWLING the last few days.

Congratulations on becoming a mommy of 3!:flower3: Hopefully the worse of your morning sickness is done.

Wow - I was really behind on your TR. Great updates of DTD and baby news. Can't wait to hear about date night.

Thank you!! Seems like the worst is over with!! Thank goodness!

Glad you're all caught up!! Date night coming up!

:welcome:

Glad to have you along!

I last left off with Mr. I and I getting ready for our date night as quietly as we could while the boys and my mom all napped. It didn't take us too long and we were slipping out of the room quietly heading to who knew where. It was about 5pm and our reservations weren't til 8pm. We had 3 hours of no kid time.

Honestly if it had been a normal trip we would have gone into a park for a bit, but since we had only bought one day passes and had used them the previous day we were kinda limited to what we could do.

We hopped on the monorail and rode it around a few times, just enjoying being on the ride without having to tell kids to sit down or not bump into anyone. It was quiet and relaxing but still in my happy place. Kinda great.

We contemplated getting off at GF and looking around but I wasn't feeling it for some reason so we looped around again and decided to go ahead and get off at Contemporary and explore there.

We escalated down to the 4th floor and did a little shopping. I found another skateboard pin for Dash and some more sticky notes for me. I looked at the Dooney's AGAIN but didn't see anything I couldn't live without. I had seen a necklace at DTD in the window display as we were waiting for the rental car guy to pick us up that if I had seen in the store I would have bought. Time didn't permit me to go back in and look for it at WoD and they didn't have it at the Contemporary. I just added it to my Wish list for our trip next week!

We walked around the lobby and took a peek over the half wall at Chef Mickey's. Thought about taking the elevator down and exploring the grounds a little but opted against it. We went ahead and checked in for our dinner reservations, thinking it would be nice to sit in the lounge and have a cocktail while enjoying the fabulous view.

So we checked in about an hour early and explained we knew we were early but just wanted to have a drink before dinner to pass the time. That we had a sitter and weren't in a hurry. We walked over to the private elevator thinking it would open for us and it didn't. So we stood around thinking we'd missed the password or something.

Before we could turn around and ask what we were missing, a CM wearing a headset walked over and did her magic thing to the elevator and we were escorted up the restaurant level.

We sat down in the lounge next to the window and were looking over the cocktail menu that had been left on the table when our buzzer went off.

Looking back now I guess I should have been a little more specific about not wanting to be seated right away and just wanted to hang out in the lounge. We had been looking forward to having a drink BEFORE dinner and prolonging the evening. Mr. I said we'd just tell our server we weren't in a hurry and that it would be fine.

So away we went, a very short walk to a table that had an AWESOME view of the Magic Kingdom.

341.jpg

We hadn't been up there long when a guy walked out of the kitchen and in a very loud booming voice announced the sunset.

346.jpg

I kinda like the reflection in the glass. Which is a good thing, cus for the life of me I couldn't get a pic without it!

It was spectacular! I was sighing all happy, taking pictures that didn't do it justice but taking them anyway.

We both ordered a drink. Mr. I enjoyed his but mine was pretty lack luster. It was just a house margarita... nothing special. They didn't have any blood orange or habenero or anything like that on the menu so when I ordered a margarita I got a 4 ozs pretty bland drink. I declined a second one.

348.jpg

We ordered a flat bread to share. It was flat iron steak with a peach compote. It was good. The crust was a little soggy. The peaches tasted like peach jelly as we say in the south. And the steak had sat too long after it's sear, so very hard to chew. But the flavor combination was interesting.

352.jpg

Mr. I had ordered gazpacho to start as well. A server (that wasn't our server) brought it to our table, and I kid you not. As he rounded Mr. I to place the bowl of soup down in front of him, he belched in Mr. I's ear. Loud enough that I could hear it. I looked startled and Mr. I looked at me kinda incredulous as to what had just happened. As soon as the man walked away, Mr. I was like 'Did he just belch in my ear?!'

It was very odd. And disturbing. And just weird. The server/runner hadn't said anything as an apology or acknowledgment or anything. Just sat down the soup and walked away.

We were laughing. I mean what else could we have done?

It was time to order the entrees and Mr. I got the pork which is what I would have ordered had he gotten something different so I ordered the filet. I talked to the server about their preparation of medium and he said it would have 'warm pink center'. So I said great. That's how I'll take it.

We weren't in a hurry and thankfully the server wasn't in a hurry. We did a lot of people watching and window watching. It was very loud in there, but we were ok with it. We did see a proposal or at least the aftermath of one. The confetti and champagne and roses and a girl walking out with the ring on her finger and the guy was still carrying the box. Very sweet.

A family of 4 walked in as we were finishing our appetizers. Their kids were in their pajamas. I thought it was pretty funny. I guess they hoped they would fall asleep during dinner.

No such luck. They were loud and tired and miserable. Literally squealing and screaming at some points. I felt for the parents but I felt for the tables next to the tired cranky kids more.

Our entrees came, ran to the table by the belching runner... thankfully sans belch this time, and Mr. I's looked incredible! Smelled wonderful. Mine looked kinda good but as soon as I cut into it, I knew something wasn't quite right. It was brown throughout and a little dry. I kept cutting into it, expecting to find that warm pink center further into the steak, thinking it has just gotten more done around the edges.

I never found my pink center.

The server had asked us how everything looked before I had even cut into my steak and never came back to ask again.

I ate maybe three bites of the steak. I honestly don't remember how the potatoes tasted. Thankfully Mr. I shared several bites of his pork loin and goat cheese polenta with me. It was YUMMY!

The server came back by, our server this time not the belching runner guy.
I turned and looked at him and said

"I never found my warm pink center."

Y'all should have seen the look on his face.

I didn't think I had said anything all that out of the blue but you would have thought I'd shocked him down to his little toes.

He stutters, "e ...ex excuse me?"

I said again, "I never found my warm pink center. In my steak. Ya know... what you said a medium steak would be."

He says "Oh. Why didn't you tell me?"

I said "I'm telling you now. The last time you were at the table I hadn't even cut into the steak yet."

He says "Oh."

Takes the steak and leaves.

Never asks me if I wanted another one, not that I would have accepted another one at that point in the meal but still. He coulda offered.

We order dessert. I ordered a peach turnover thing with peach ice cream. I'm a sucker for peaches. Mr. I got the banana dish.

We were brought two complimentary glasses of champagne. Perhaps because we were on a date, perhaps because my steak had been inedible.

Mr. I drank them both as I don't really care for bubbly.

Our desserts arrive. My peach thing is cold. I was expecting it to be warm-ish. Not very good. I'm underwhelmed with Cali Grill at this point. Mr. I likes his banana dish but I try it and am ambivalent. Brown Derby's banana dessert is much better!

Three bites into dessert (if I took that many) Summer Nightastic is announced or whatever they do for it and the mass exodus to the outside deck began. Mr. I and I opt to leave our desserts... not like they'll get cold while we wait and step outside.

It was a great moment. I videoed some. Tried to take a few pictures, none of which turned out that great.

363.jpg

We enjoyed just standing outside together and watching the show. It was impressive though a bit odd to see off center. They did seem very close though which was awesome. Loved the pirate sequence. Definitely my fave part.

We made our way back into the restaurant, back to our table, and finished our dessert. Mr. I got coffee I believe. While we had been up watching the fireworks, the table next to us had been sat. A couple with their two little girls. The girls were dressed in princess dresses and they were very well behaved. Or so I thought. Turned out they were well behaved because they were literally sleeping sitting up. :lmao:

I look over and the mom is propping the older daughter's head up on the table trying to get her to take one more bite of pasta.

Their server finally brought them an extra chair for the younger daughter and the parents made a make shift bed for her to lay down on.

Somehow the mom and I got to talking. She and her husband had both been cm's at Disney in their younger years and now she runs a Disney travel blog. We discussed Disney trips and insider tips for a while. They had only been able to get the late ADR and it was their younger daughter's birthday and she wanted to eat dinner where she could see the castle. Poor thing was sleeping through the whole thing.

We finished up our meal, finally checking out about 3 hours from the time we arrived. Which was fine with us.

My steak had not been removed from our check... and honestly we should have said something but I really had thought the server would have taken care of it on his own. I guess the free champagne was supposed to be our comp for the night.

We made our way out of the restaurant and to the monorail. A quick monorail ride back to our hotel and we were ready to see the kids.

Other than the less than stellar food and lackluster service, we had a great time. The view was incredible, the fireworks were amazing, and the company was lovely. We laughed and laughed at the look on the server's face when I told him I never found my warm pink center.

I don't know what he was thinking I meant! :rotfl2:

It was a night we'll remember for a long time and the main reason I think I got Mr. I to agree to go to Disney for our Just us Two vakay instead of back to Vegas! We had a great evening!

We got back to the hotel to find an empty room.

So we wandered back toward Captain Cook's to see Mom and the boys eating a late dinner. The boys were happy to see us and we were happy to retell our evening story to my mom. We heard about their evening of swimming! They stayed in the pool for a long time. Dash finally got to to the slide and apparently loved it and rode it OVER and OVER again. They caught the fireworks from the pool that evening, so they had a special night as well.

Once they were finished up, we decided another swim was in order!

Mr. I opted out this night, instead staying in and getting a jump on the shower before we were all trying to get in the shower at the same time.

The boys, mom and I took one last leisurely late night swim. Love that about the Volcano pool at Poly. Such a view to swim to!!

We reluctantly went back to the room before 11pm. Got the boys thrown in a bath, me showered, and Mr. I and I began the sorting and packing up process while Mom took her turn in the bathroom.

373.jpg

The boys playing with their dinosaur toys from T-Rex while we packed up!

Honestly the one sink never caused us any issues! :confused3 Never really noticed it. It was a pain to have the potty in the same room as the sink, missed the split bathroom a few times but no more than we were in the room it wasn't a big deal.

We had a wake up call for a breakfast at Kona grill at 9am the next morning. We were all checking out. Mom was sending her luggage over to Pop Century and we were loading up the rental car to drive to Jacksonville!

It was around bed time that we noticed that Jack Jack's bunny was no where to be found. It was in a picture I posted in a much earlier update. We checked everywhere and finally gave up, calling it a night and vowing to find it in the light of day!

Up next:
Kona Cafe breakfast or sleep in? Which would win out? Would we find bunny? Would we manage to fit all our stuff in the rental car's trunk???

STAY TUNED!!!!

Aw, I'm sorry your meal at Cali Grill was less than magical. But I like how you focused on the positive! You had your date, great view and I'm sure some precious time alone with Mr. I!

That picture of the boys on the bed playing toys is so cute!
I hope you find Bunny!
Paige has a bunny blankie that goes everywhere with her for sleeping. I have had to search the house a gazillion times and found it in some rather odd places. Then, after a half hour of searching she'll say, Oh Yeah, I remember when I put it there... :upsidedow:confused:

I can't remember the beginning, and I'm too lazy to go back and read, so I have to ask - why is your mom going to Pop and you going to Tallahassee? I'm all confused now!

No matter all the issues I'm glad you guys had a great evening together that is what matters!!

WOOT WOOT you guys are so close to your next trip! I can't wait! I'm so excited for you!!!

Oh man! What awful service at the CG! I can't believe it!!!!!!! They are usually just awesome! :sad2: He really should have taken your steak off the bill and realized what you mean when he took a nearly complete steak back to the kitchen! :headache:

But, aside from all that, I'm glad it was a lovely evening and you didn't let those two things ruin your date night!

Sounds like a great night for the boys too-fireworks from the pool??? :cloud9: Oh ya!

I am thinking you make it to Kona the next day....one last yummy meal!

As for the cabs here - no carseat is required! Seriously - there is NO law on it. Kinda crazy, but true! I guess they figure the barrier between the front and back would help?? Not really sure. Most people do not even own car seats. When babies are infants mothers and fathers usually wear them, so they just buckle themselves in (lap belt only) and that's that. When they get bigger they either hold them or strap them in too.

And the way some of those cabbies drive....:scared1:

There are some car services that will bring a car seat though! :thumbsup2 We've used them before to get to the airport. It costs a bit extra, but the peace of mind is worth it.

Boo! We had awesome service at Cali Grill, but I too had a lackluster steak. Mine was the opposite though. I ordered medium, and got almost rare. We loved everything else however.

You evening together does sound wonderful, even with a few snags :goodvibes

I've been lurking and just got caught up. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope you're continuing to feel better and that your Christmas trip goes well! I'd totally ride Soarin' pregnant but that's just me...

I can't believe those crazy people at the parade. I wouldn't have been able to keep my mouth shut like you all did.

We'd probably give Cali Grill another chance one of these years, though I doubt any time soon. There are a lot of other restaurants we'd like to try first. I think next time I'd schedule our meal for a non firework viewing time. NOT that the fireworks weren't awesome from the patio, they were. But it definitely makes for a noisy crowded restaurant.

Despite every snag it really was an enjoyable evening!

Dash has a boo bear that we've lost numerous times but never at a hotel or public place. Always at grandma's house.

As far as why we were splitting up, Mom had flown down to watch the boys and since she had a annual pass and already paid the airfare down there, she decided she wanted a few more days to try to do it solo.
We had to cut our Disney time short because we were supposed to be visiting Mr. I's family in Northern Florida and had added the Disney days as a 'side trip'.
So we rented a car and drove one way to his mom's house and mom stayed and switched to Pop!
It worked out great! :thumbsup2

No matter all the issues I'm glad you guys had a great evening together that is what matters!!

WOOT WOOT you guys are so close to your next trip! I can't wait! I'm so excited for you!!!

I'm glad we had a great evening together too!! I'm getting excited!! I may have bought a new Vera last night. :rolleyes1 Be proud!! :rotfl:

Oh man! What awful service at the CG! I can't believe it!!!!!!! They are usually just awesome! :sad2: He really should have taken your steak off the bill and realized what you mean when he took a nearly complete steak back to the kitchen! :headache:

After the fabulous service we had at Jiko, it was really a pale comparison. But yeah...we were kinda sitting in awe. At one point, Mr. I facebooked "I'm really proud of my wife. She just made our server cry!"
Which I DID NOT do! I wasn't mean! But it was kinda funny and all his restaurant biz buddies got a kick out of it!

But, aside from all that, I'm glad it was a lovely evening and you didn't let those two things ruin your date night!

ME too!!

Sounds like a great night for the boys too-fireworks from the pool??? :cloud9: Oh ya!

YAY! I was glad they got a special night too! I was a little jealous on one level... kinda hard to have mommy and daddy time and get to do the cool things the kids get to do at the same time!

I am thinking you make it to Kona the next day....one last yummy meal!

:rolleyes1

That's craziness!! But oddly makes me feel less bad about our car ride in WDW.

There are some car services that will bring a car seat though! :thumbsup2 We've used them before to get to the airport. It costs a bit extra, but the peace of mind is worth it.

Definitely!!

Boo! We had awesome service at Cali Grill, but I too had a lackluster steak. Mine was the opposite though. I ordered medium, and got almost rare. We loved everything else however.

I've read so many mixed reviews about Cali. We really decided on it because of the view, proximity to Poly, and fireworks viewing! And those things did not disappoint.

It was wonderful! Can't wait for a few repeats in January! Minus the bad service!

:yay: :woohoo: for coming out of lurkdom!! So glad you've been reading and are all caught up! The parade drama will forever live in infamy in our Disney memories! It was truly insane.

Thank you for the congrats!! Still feeling better!

I'm totally gonna ride Soarin' and maybe even the safari. I asked my doctor about it last week and she had no problems with those. She said the main issue is the sudden stops and starts that jerk your body forward and then back. She even said I could ride the 'baby' roller coasters if I wanted. She went to WDW when she was pregnant with her twins and was much further along, so it was kinda cool to talk Disney with my OB!

I just found your tr and I am caught up now. I really hope you find the bunny. :wizard: I have a little one that gets upset if Lotso isn't found fairly quick at bedtime and she is 6.:lmao:

Where has all the time gone?!!!

CRAZY!

We're back from our Christmas trip for 2 wks already! WHAT?!! and I turn around and leave again with just Mr. I in less than a week!! YOWZER!

I am DETERMINED! to get this TR finished before he and I leave next Weds.

I am about to upload the last day's pics and start writing.

Then maybe, just maybe I can get the first post up for our Dec TR! :cool1:

Wish me luck!

We got up our last morning, tired but hungry!

Thankfully I had set a wake up call and we all agreed that breakfast was a great way to start the day off right. Mom had a big day in the parks ahead of us and we had a short drive and rental car return time to make. Everyone got up and starting getting ready except Jack Jack. He did not want to get up!

378.jpg

We finished the packing up process that had begun the night before and I took some random pictures.

380.jpg

377.jpg

We looked all over for that stinking bunny. Under covers, in the hide away couch, under the bedskirts, behind the headboards, behind the curtains etc. You get the picture. No bunny. :sad2:

I called mousekeeping and reported him missing and they sent my info on to the lost and found and the laundry services people but we've never heard back from them. Bunny is forever at Disney World.

Honestly I was grateful it was Bunny and not Dash's Boo Bear. Jack Jack wasn't that attached at all to Bunny but Dash has had Boo Bear since he was 9 mths old. I was thankful at least that it worked out the way it did. Let me tell y'all, this trip, we did NOT leave the boys lovies on the beds to be scooped up in the laundry. We put them up high on the tops of the TVs so there was no chance they could be lost!

We made our breakfast ressie in plenty of time and were seated very quickly.

Pretty lights.

Love this picture of Mr. I!

Ready for some grub!

394.jpg

395.jpg

Dash took time to accessorize his Mickey pancakes!
397.jpg

Best breakfast I've had on WDW property hands down. I ordered the Big Kahuna. I liked the Tonga Toast I had at Captain Cook's but decided I wanted more protein and variety than that and since Mom and I were sharing, the Big Kahuna was perfect.

400.jpg

The Macadamia Nut Pineapple pancakes were DELISH and the scrambled eggs were the best I've ever eaten. Seriously. Creamy and moist without being runny or wet or creepy! SOOOO good. Seriously considered adding a Kona breakfast to December or January trip but can't figure out how to make it work logistically.

We all enjoyed our breakfast. And our server was great! We took one last picture in the GCH

401.jpg

and headed back to our room to put the final touches on packing and call bell services.

He arrived shortly and took mom's luggage, tagged to go to Pop and we said our goodbyes to Mom. Off she went to explore on her own. I was proud of my nearly 68 yr old Momma!! She reported back that she enjoyed her time alone but doesn't think she'll do it again any time soon. She missed the enjoyment she gets from watching other people enjoy their time there, and I get that!

The bell services CM took us on his golf cart to our rental car. AFTER we convinced Jack Jack that he couldn't drive!

407.jpg

This was when I realized my big boo boo. I had taken into consideration the size of our party when booking what size rental car we needed but hadn't taken into consideration all of our luggage! OOPSIE!

We had three suitcases and a stroller, plus a car seat. And four people. IT was fun for a while. Thankfully we were able to scoot my seat up as far as I could stand it and get a lot in the back seat as well as the trunk . The nice CM stayed and helped Mr. I play Jenga puzzle with our luggage. :lmao:

410.jpg

In no time we were off. A quick phone call to my mother in law to let her know we'd made it out of Orlando and we were on our way. We used GPS on our cell phones and were quoted a 2.5 hr drive. Not too shabby!!

We made the boys take a nap.

They were not happy about it, especially Jack Jack.

422.jpg

Pouting cus mean ol Momma was making him close his eyes!

420.jpg

But we knew it was their only chance to catch up on some sleep and the likelihood of them napping at their Mimi's was slim!

Continued in next post!

Continued from previous post!

We made it to Jacksonville in no time and took the loop around, discovering this awesome bridge on the way!

428.jpg

431.jpg

Soon enough we were off the main roads and crossing the bridge to Amelia Island. That drive was not bad at all! Definitely gonna be a hard temptation to not return to Disney every time we go visit MIL!

We unpacked, and hugged our greetings and took the rental car back just in time and went and ate seafood.

I took this picture just for you guys! For those of you that read my January 2010 TR when we ate at San Angel Inn and my non intentionally typo about the CRAP tostados we ate.

Well apparently I'm not the only one that has the problem!

439.jpg

Shrimp/Crap burger!

LOL

That evening we hung out and watched tv and waited for Mr. I's sister and brother in law to arrive from Atlanta. They had massive airline problems with some thunderstorm activity in the ATL area and didn't get in until nearly 11pm. And they had worked that day since it was a Friday. They were exhausted!

450.jpg

Dash being crazy!

We let Jack Jack stay up until they got in. He was a bit loopy. He insisted on wearing his goggles the whole time. Crazy kid.

453.jpg

458.jpg

The next day we all hung out and spent time together, enjoying some great pizza (best lil hole in the wall there on the island, wish we had one here!) and family time.

Brother in law and sister in law were leaving the next day already. They got stuck at the airport again with a long delay but decided to wait it out at the airport instead of us coming to pick them up and take them back again.

We opted for some fun in the sun and I got some great pics of the boys on the beach.

I laid my camera on a beach towel well above the surf line and walked away for a bit. When I turned around and came back the towel was folded up on itself and wet.

I had downloaded the Disney pics already on my MIL's laptop but was heartsick at the thought of losing all the beach pics, not to mention it was a brand new camera!!

Thankfully it was laying there tucked into the towel. I turned it on and it worked! Thank goodness!

It kept working for 3 mths and finally one day I got a lens error code. When I googled it, the code was related to sand in the lens and wouldn't be covered under warranty. I checked the cost of the repair and it was cheaper to buy another camera. *Sigh* So I bought another one, identical to that one.

We finished up our beach evening by taking a dip in the pool at MIL's community pool. We had pizza again for dinner, yes it was that good and did more laundry and packing to leave the next morning.

Our last day at MIL's we had a big breakfast and Jack Jack knocked his OJ over and into my lap. I had already packed everything and it was already loaded in the back of the mini van so there was no change of clothes!

I was soaked and sticky and didn't have much choice in the matter. I went to the restroom and tried to clean up and dry off. The pants were polyester blend so they dried quickly. I was not as amused as Mr. I and MIL were.

We pulled out of Amelia Island around noon.

Should have left earlier but you know how it is those first mornings, packing, double checking you didn't forget anything, saying goodbye to a loved one etc. We drove and drove and drove, stopping and having a car picnic on the way with all the food that MIL had packed us. Made it to Baton Rouge by midnight eastern time.

The boys were happy to get out of the car!

Slept until 9am the next morning. GPS'd Cracker Barrel and it took us a way that I didn't recognize as being back to the one we had seen on the way in the night before. Oh well, I figured there was more than one Cracker Barrel.

Well there was.... apparently there is a line of convenience stores called Cracker Barrel. It took us a while to figure out where the heck the GPS was taking us but when we finally read the sign on the Chevron station we cracked up laughing.

We headed back to the one we had seen with our own little eyes and had a good breakfast.

Ready for road trip day #2.

We made it home by about 7pm Texas time. We were exhausted but glad to be home!!!!!

Up Next: Final thoughts !!

Mmmmmmm.........Kona!

Love the Crap Burger! :lmao:

Beautiful beach pictures!

That story about the camera sounds strangely familiar...;)

Looking forward to your final thoughts!

Mmmmm Kona looks delicious...an awesome way to start your last day at disney

I love your pics from the beach...especially the one with your's and your dh's shadow in the background....they look professional

Loved your TR:goodvibes

Your beach pictures are awesome!! When I was digging through some of DH's childhood things, I found a great picture of him at the beach when he was around 10 years old. He was looking away into the ocean - I love it! I framed it and ever since then, I always take pictures like that of my kids at the beach.
Might I add that they are making me feel nice and warm in this COLD weather we have here.

Was that a silk plant I saw in the back of the car??:confused3

Crap burger :lmao: See, it really was a simple, honest mistake that you made :thumbsup2

I absolutely love your beach pictures! I'm thinking very seriously about buying a waterproof/sand proof camera before our cruise this summer. I would die if anything happened to my good camera!

You're back! How are you feeling?

Loved the updates. Too bad about bunny. :sad1: The beach pictures were great! I can understand about the camera situation. I may or may not be just about forbidden to take a camera with us to the beach anymore.. :rolleyes1 Mine seem to like going swimming. ;)

Cracker Barrel was too funny! :rotfl:

Great trip! I loved following along!

Mmmmm Kona is right! Though I have to say breakfast kicked lunch's heinie!

I thought the crap burger was pretty awesome! And was happy with the beach pictures!

The first thought I had when I saw the camera all wet and sandy was "Dugette's gonna kill me!" :lmao: I had been so careful about not taking my camera out of my bag when we were on the Poly beach watching Wishes, specifically because of what happened to your camera and then I go and leave it on a beach towel at the Atlantic Ocean. Real smart gelly!

Glad you enjoyed the TR!!! :goodvibes

Thanks!!! I really need get some of them printed and framed! My fave of Jack Jack is the one from behind where he's about to throw the shell in! And the one of the boys with the footprints. I'm gonna blow that one and put it somewhere. Don't know where yet... but I'll find a spot!

Glad they warmed you up a bit!!

:rotfl2: YES that's a silk plant !! :lmao: My Mother in law loaded us down! She'd just moved houses and had a ton of stuff set aside to send home with us. She's a big believer in fake ivy, so we got a basket full of it!

:rotfl: Among MANY other things. Our van was LOADED!

Crap burger :lmao: See, it really was a simple, honest mistake that you made :thumbsup2

The sad thing is my sister owns a cafe that sells crab cakes. I'm the fastest typist in my family so she asked me to type out her new menu for her. It was after they had them all printed that they noticed I had typo'd crap cakes! :lmao: :lmao:

OOPS! Guess I typo crap more than I realized. :rolleyes1

Glad you enjoyed the beach pictures!! I think a waterproof/sand proof camera is a great idea!! Especially with Castaway Cay and underwater pics!!!

Speaking of your cruise, when did that come about?! I'm so out of the loop! How did you talk DH into anything else Disney?? I'm so excited for you!!!!

And I must thank you for not saying anything to me about football this season. AHEM. :scared1: WTG Sooners and WTheck TEXAS?!

I'm feeling GREAT! Or I was until I got a stupid chest cold! BUT as far as pregnancy stuff goes, I'm feeling really good! We have the sonogram scheduled for next Monday! :thumbsup2 Hopefully find out if we're having a Violet or if I'm gonna have to come up with another boy's Incredible name.
I think I'm forbidding myself from taking the camera on the beach again. Wait no. I love the pics too much. I just won't put it down. EVER. AGAIN!

I was bummed about Bunny but like I said, Dash (and I) would have been devastated if we'd lost Boo Bear. So it worked out as well as it could have. Jack Jack got a Scentsy stuffed animal for Christmas. It's a monkey that we named EE ( as in eeee eee aaahhh aaaahhh - the sound monkey's make?) that he's gotten attached to. So that worked out well!
The Cracker Barrel thing was hilarious. Especially as long as it took for us to figure out where the heck the GPS was taking us!

Glad you enjoy following along! I was glad to have you along! :flower3:
