"So is this when they bring out the Mickey Mouse cattle prods??" Final Thoughts 1/10!

I agree with you about the breakfast thing. If it's closed, it's closed is my thinking.

I think you must be right. I tried booking on the 17th, 18th, 19th of Jan for breakfast AND dinner and nothing was available but I got times for the 16th. It certainly seems as though your info was correct.

I'm guessing either the person writing in was mistaken or the cast member was. It happens.

I can't call Florida from here without paying HUGE long distance fees (no plan covering the states) so I'll wait to hear what you find out, if you don't mind.

Once I know for sure I think I'll drop AllEars a line to clarify.

I LOVE the pictures. My favorite is the one with Jack Jack and his pinky extended! Such CLASS!!!

I hope you continue with your food porn. Its keeping me going. Can you get refills on the chicken wings? Are they spicy? I'm the biggest wuss when it comes to spicy stuff, but if they are BBQ saucy, then I'll have to seriously consider Ohana in the future.

I do have to ask, whats in a Lapu Lapu? I've heard they pack a punch, but I've never had one.

Sounds like a great night at the Poly (except for the not getting to sleep right away part). 'Ohana, fireworks, late night swim with pretty castle in the background...nice! :cloud9:

And I got mentioned in a TR! :yay: I'm glad you did not have any sand vs. camera incidents like we did!

Looking forward to more!

We were at Marineland/Niagara Falls during your Disney dates and I was thinking about you on and off the whole time.

My kids knew too and they were asking me periodically...

What do you think (they used your real names but I won't here) your friend Gelly and her boys are doing right now.

It was too funny. I don't think I told you that before.

Too bad if I did. :rotfl:

Also, I asked DS yesterday what kinds of things he wanted to do the next time we go to Disney and he told me he wants to loose his tooth so Tink will leave something under his pillow.

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Dash is FAMOUS at our house!!

Loving your TR. Ohana, drinks, fireworks on the beach and a late night swim...what a perfect way to end your first day. :lovestruc Your food porn is making my mouth water, especially the lapu, lapu. :drinking1

We have early ADR's at Ohana in Dec. and now I really want to change it to later so stay for the fireworks. Can't wait to hear what happens next.

I'm back from the World and all caught up again!

So glad Dash got to swim!!! I felt so bad for him when it started to thunder, poor dude. BUT, I bet that nap was a very good thing considering the busy and long night you ended up having.

Sorry to hear about Jack-Jack having a hard time sleeping! Poor you! I hope you still were able to make RD. I'm VERY curious about the TR title too...:rotfl:

Great update!!! I dream of Ohana's food! It was the best TS we had when we went in March. I think we will even go and pay out of pocket for it. Since we will have the CS plan free next time.

Can't wait to hear all about your next day!! :cool1:

Glad you enjoyed the update! I dream of Ohana's food too! DROOL! I used to read the menu and go "I don't get it!" But I get it now!
Paying OOP for Ohana with the CS plan sounds like a great idea!

Gonna work on the next day soon! It's gonna be one doozie of an update! :rolleyes1 It's gonna take a while to write!

We've never eaten at Ohana, but my mouth was watering at the pictures of those wings! they look delicious - my DH loves finger foods - wings, cheese sticks, etc., so he would definitely like it there. Both your boys are so cute and well behaved! And being able to sit and watch fireworks and then a late night dip in the pool sounds like a perfect ending to a Disney Day... can't wait to hear more!:)

My mouth's watering too! The wings are AWESOME! I recently discovered my love of wings after years of thinking I didn't like em. These are my all time FAVE! If your hubby likes finger foods, I def think he'd enjoy the apps at Ohana!

Thanks for the sweet compliment on my boys! :lovestruc They did do really well at Ohana! Their naps helped MUCHO!

The meal, the beach fireworks and the swim were indeed, truly MAGICAL!

Did you drop a line to AllEars? Would be curious to hear what they say!

Food porn will kinda continue. I remembered sometimes better than other. Still a work in progress, I am.
You can get refills on anything at Ohana! (except booze) and the wings aren't spicy AT ALL. They are kind of teriyaki more than BBQ but that's not it exactly. Definitely a little savory and a little sweet! I LOVE them!!

Lapu Lapu is a rum fruity drink that they put in a shelled out pineapple for presentation. I believe it's finished off with a shot of Bacardi 151 on top after all the regular Captian Morgan's etc. I think! I can't find it on the web right now!

They definitely pack a bunch! As does the Backscratcher!

It was a FABULICIOUS night!

hehe @ you getting a mention! I feel the same when I get one! :rotfl:

We watched the fireworks from inside of Ohana but I personally think that it's a better experience from the beach. I'm sure there are some that prefer inside Ohana to the beach. But there's something about relaxing on a gorgeous beach with the castle right in front of you and beautiful fireworks shooting off 180 degrees directly in front of you! AMAZING!

Sorry for the mouth watering! Here's a napkin for ya!

Awwww!! That's so sweet!!! You hadn't told me before! I hope your DS loses a tooth of his own in Disney!

I'm back from the World and all caught up again!

Glad you're back and all caught up! I was glad Dash got to swim too. It's ALL he talked about. He was in heaven! The nap was a lifesaver!! Definitely!

Poor me and poor Jack! His lack of sleep definitely had an affect on our MK day! :sad2: As you'll see in the next update!

I will tell y'all that the TR title will be explained in Day 4. However, it most likely will be in the 2nd if not 3rd part of the day.

Sorry!

I just started a little side job thingie online. For play money. So forgive my delay in TRs! I promise I'll get it done over the weekend if not sooner!

Thanks for reading!!!

I need a side job thingie online. I've been looking for that sort of thing. I've done, and still do, sites that you can make money on by various clicks and that sorta stuff, and that DOES help, but it takes quite a bit of time. What did you find?

I'll hit you up on Facebook and 'splain! :yay:

The wake up call went off way too early this morning, and honestly if it hadn't been for August heat, I probably would have let rope drop slide. But I knew not only was rope drop important for getting ahead of the crowds but it was also important for getting ahead of the heat!

Jack Jack woke up, a bit dazed and confused but still smiling. Dash was all kinds of excited. We were going to Magic Kingdom and the magic is not lost on Dash.

We all got up and got ready fairly quickly and were on our way to GCH in no time. Mr. I had gone ahead of us for an espresso at the Kona Coffee Bar and we get to the 2nd floor exit just as he's stirring his coffee at the fixin's area. I see the monorail pull up and pull away. UGH. So we missed our first monorail opportunity.

We walked out onto the monorail platform and the heat and humidity are present already. It's gonna be a warm day.

137.jpg

We didn't have to wait long for the next monorail to pick us up and we're off. Gotta say once again monorail service is AMAZING. Especially with a kid in a stroller. LOVED it.

139-2.jpg

My fave pic of them!

138.jpg

Jack Jack all slicked up with sunscreen!

We made it to MK by about 8:35 and had 25 mins to stand there in the bald open sun and melt, er I mean wait for the rope drop show.

I passed time by taking some pictures

140.jpg

141.jpg

and before too long we were greeted by the Mouse himself and the family of the day.

150.jpg

151.jpg

Bless their hearts, when they set off the streamers, 2 sets of the streamer guns kinda fell flat and just hung from the balcony. I felt bad for them. Loved their matching tie dyes !! And her Vera. Willing to bet they were a family of DISers!

We followed the herd through the tunnel and met up on the other side because I was having a hard time getting through in the stroller. It was slow going for a while.

While everyone else made a run for the second set of ropes, doing the Dumbo or FP Dash which ever, I had one goal in mind.

Main Street Bakery.

LOL

We didn't have IASW to ride first this time, a family tradition since 1973. So there was no set plan fo rides today. I knew we needed FPs for Splash and BTMR but we didn't really care when the return times were. So first item up for grabs was breakfast.

Thankfully I knew there was a short cut and we cut through the crystal shop to nap two empty tables that were side by side. Everyone else was in line and the tables had yet to fill up. I parked everyone at the two tables, and I went and got in line. It went very quickly and soon enough I had 3 croissant breakfast sammies and 1 cinnamon roll, a bottle of milk, a bottle of water and a bottle of Coke Classic for yours truly. SUGAR overload was coming my way!

We all enjoyed the sandwiches. I gave mom 2 of them to share between her and the boys. And Mr. I and I split the cinnamon roll and the other sandwich. Dash decided that he didn't like the melted cheese part of the sandwich so Mom tried to give him egg and ham without melted cheese and I shared some of our cinnamon roll with him.

We finished up in about 15 mins and sure enough there were people waiting for our table when we got up. We headed down Main Street, stopping to take a few pictures.

I could kick myself for not taking some of just mom in front of the castle or mom and me. It's on my list for our December trip.

Now forgive me if I already told y'all this but on arrival day Jack Jack had wanted nothing to do with me. His grandmother was there and he wanted her. To push the stroller, to clean his face, to change his diapers, to hold his monkey tail, etc.

I was worried that it was going to exhaust mom being his primary care giver all week but she seemed fine with it.

Well that changed gradually over the days we'd been there and this morning was the exact opposite. I'm sure he was tired... I KNOW he was tired and he wanted his momma. If anyone else dared to push the stroller he lost it. It was as close to a terrible two tantrum day for Jack Jack as I had ever seen. For those of you that have read my previous TRs, you know Jack Jack isn't a fit pitcher really. He's normally an easy going kid. Well my poor planning the evening before was backfiring on us.

When I decided to get him out of his stroller to take this picture

159.jpg

he did not want to get back in his stroller. Period.

So to avoid a meltdown in the middle of Liberty Square we let him walk.

All the way to the river walkway shortcut through Frontierland. He was not cooperating and it was hot and there were too many people trying to get around him, so I made him get back in his stroller.

He was not happy. Major understatement. So we were the family pulled over on the side as people tried to walk past us, with the mom bent over trying to talk sense into a 2 yr old.

Yeah right.

Like that's even possible.

So we just kept on pushing. Bribing him wasn't working, reasoning with him wasn't working. He was tired and hot. At that point I honestly wondered if I was gonna have to take him back to the hotel for a morning nap instead of an afternoon nap.

Thankfully walking for a bit, and pointing out the watee and the duckies and everything there is to see he settled down.

We made it over to Splash Mountain and while we probably could have ridden standby, we decided it best to not attempt to split up yet, which Jack Jack's behavior so tenuous. I took everyone's tickets and ran down to get FPs. The return time was 10:30 so we had plenty of time to explore!

I immediately knew what I wanted to be our first ride. I have to admit it was liberating being able to pick a first ride instead of having to ride IASW. Not saying I'm ready to abandon tradition but it was a new experience for me that I enjoyed.

We cut up from Frontierland to Advertureland, parked our stroller in a totally different strolling parking area that I'm used to, and walked into the welcomed AC'd line of PoC! Woohoo!!!

We literally WALKED on. There was 0 wait. AWESOME!

I love this ride. Love it. Always have. Even as a little girl I loved it.

Jack Jack was fine, thankfully. I had worried about him a little on his first ride, in the dark, being as tired as he was, but he enjoyed it, as he sat between me and Mr. I. We should have hopped right back on and ridden again but thought we'd get back to it later in the day.

Instead we left our stroller parked and walked over to Jungle Cruise. Mr. I nor Jack Jack had ever ridden this ride and I don't remember if Dash had or not.
I'm sure he did on his first trip in 07 but it had been a while.

160.jpg

161.jpg

Walking in front of me in line.

163.jpg

Instead of saying cheese, I asked him to say 'hot'. LOL

164.jpg

Our boat.

166.jpg

Dash enjoyed the corny jokes.

Our skipper wasn't the best in the joke department but Jack Jack really enjoyed the boat and animal aspects of this ride.

We headed to Aladdin's Magic Carpet ride next, though FGM set this out, claiming she didn't want to get wet or do circles.

167.jpg

Waiting in line.

169.jpg

170.jpg

The boys seemed to enjoy this, and no one got wet! On the way out, I was trying to get Jack Jack out of the carpet and didn't realize his tail was caught. Oopsie! It didn't hurt him, just embarrassed me that I'm telling my kid to c'mon and his harness tail is caught on the seat belt the whole time. LOL
Thankfully someone that was getting onto the ride as we were exiting alerted me right as I realized what was going on.

Next, we hopped in line for the Tiki Birds.

172.jpg

174.jpg

Self portrait so stayhomemom77 could see my visor.

175.jpg

Not something that we generally do but with Jack Jack's fragile state, and with the heat, sitting down in AC for a while sounded good to all of us. Jack Jack seemed to enjoy all the birds and we enjoyed the cool air!

Once we were tiki tiki tiki'd out, I asked. Mr. I if he was confident enough to navigate back and get the stroller. He said he thought he could, so I left Mom with the boys and I went down to get a *drum roll please* Dole Whip.

Technically my second of the trip but there's nothing like eating on in the MK on a hot summer day!

I waited in the line forever! And somehow the girl working the counter though I ordered 3 pineapple spears, when I had just wanted two. I had paid for 3 apparently so instead of trying to get a credit back, I just took the pineapple. Mom and the boys were sitting inside the shop by Aladdin's ride, using up the air conditioning. Apparently the boys were so good while hanging out in the shop, the CM there gave them both a pin. So Jack Jack got his first pin. A Donald Duck one that says 'good'. Awesome little pixie dust moment!

We sat under the umbrellas and worked on our treats. Pineapple spears for the boys and a Dole Whip for me. Jack Jack, whose favorite thing in the world is pineapple, ditched the spear in favor for my whip. Go figure.

So we all worked on the pineapple and I shared the whip with him and we made a hot sticky mess.

Mr. I had yet to return. I saw I had a missed call from him that I didn't hear while in line at Aloha Isle. I tried to call him back and he didn't answer. We played phone tag for about 5 mins. Finally we connected and he had walked all the way back over to Splash Mountain. He had come back to the cut through area by the carpet rides, didn't see us so thought we'd have gone on without him.

Like I would have left the area without him. Anyway! He wasn't upset so I didn't get upset. But he back tracked back to where we were sitting. I offered to meet him over there but he insisted on coming back. Oh well!

Once we were reunited, he helped finish the pineapple spears, since we had so many of them! We all had to cleanup with wet wipes. Once de-stickied, we headed back through the short cut towards Splash Mountain. We had FPs burning a hole in our pockets!

Up next:

Would we get so wet on Splash that we regretted our plunge into the briar patch?
Would Jack Jack finally melt down beyond repair?
Would we made our ADR for LTT or would our scheduled afternoon nap turn into an impromptu lunch time nap?

STAY TUNED!

Sounds like you got a lot done so far! Can't wait to read more.

Mmmmm Dole Whips... another yummy Disney treat. We didn't have wipes when we had ours though. :rotfl: That was smart.

I'm caught up!!

I could really go for a pineapple spear right now. Yum!

I'm going to PM you to find out about the little side thing you are doing, I hope you don't mind!

Hooray for the tink visor!!

You're so good to me.

I gotta see if I can get one but I forget where you got it from. Of course, I'm not sure what kind of stuff you can buy in January...I hope it's not all sweatshirts and stuff.

Great update. Can't wait for more.

Loved their matching tie dyes !! And her Vera. Willing to bet they were a family of DISers!

That was exactly my thought when I saw their pictures!

While everyone else made a run for the second set of ropes, doing the Dumbo or FP Dash which ever, I had one goal in mind.

Main Street Bakery

:banana::banana::banana:
Yum! And such a smart move with snagging the tables. :worship:

Glad you got Jack-Jack to settle down, hopefully the Disney Magic took him through meltdown free until nap time! Sounds like a great morning so far, just going with the flow - love that!

I'm glad I didn't have a camera and sand incident too! That night.... AHEM! :rolleyes1
:scared1: Uh oh! :scared1:

Nice update. Glad you made rope drop...I agree, that monorail from the Poly is so convenient!

Yum...must eat at Main Street Bakery sometime....

Main Street looks so empty in the castle pics!

:yay: for PoC as the first (walk-on) ride! Love it!

And a Dole Whip!

Sounds like a successful morning. I'm glad Jack-Jack calmed down too.

Catching up!!

Ohana does look sooo yummy. But wow, messy too. I'm a bit weird about messy foods in public. Yeah, I need to get over myself. We HAVE to try that place!! Loved the pics!!

Too bad about the rough start there. I loved the "Yeah Right" to trying to talk sense into a two year old. I can soo relate to that! It does look like things are working out for you though.

I'm inspired again. I have never had Dole Whip. Everyone on here seems to love these things and I do think about them everytime we walk through that area. I've just never walked over and tried one. I will now be having my first Dole Whip by the end of the week. They better be yummy! :rotfl:

Thank you for that! I'm going to look into it for sure. And if I do join, I will go under you! :thumbsup2 I'll PM ya back with the sites I do too.

You're welcome! Would love to get the inside scoop on the sites you do!

Glad you were able to find something for earning play money!!

Me too! I gotta support my purse and shoe habit.

Sounds like you got a lot done so far! Can't wait to read more.

Mmmmm Dole Whips... another yummy Disney treat. We didn't have wipes when we had ours though. :rotfl: That was smart.

We did do a lot. I was surprised considering Jack Jack's earlier meltdown and with it being August I expected more crowds!

I can't live without my wet wipes. I think I'll carry wet wipes long after Jack Jack is potty trained. They come in way too handy in too many situations.

I'm caught up!!

I could really go for a pineapple spear right now. Yum!

I'm going to PM you to find out about the little side thing you are doing, I hope you don't mind!

Glad you're caught up!

Love me some pineapple. :thumbsup2

Hope you got my pm reply! Didn't mind at all! :goodvibes

Hooray for the tink visor!!

I am good to you, aren't I? :lmao:

I got it in the kid's shop on Main Street. It's a kid's visor. Which I didn't realize when I bought it. I got it on 05. So I don't know if they'll have them any more.

:guilty:

They have more than just sweatshirts in January. Trust me. You won't have any problem finding things to spend money on!

That was exactly my thought when I saw their pictures!

HAHA!! It's the Vera WITH the tie dyes. Gives you away EVERY time! LOL

:banana::banana::banana:
Yum! And such a smart move with snagging the tables. :worship:

I was pretty pleased with myself, I gotta admit.

Glad you got Jack-Jack to settle down, hopefully the Disney Magic took him through meltdown free until nap time! Sounds like a great morning so far, just going with the flow - love that!

It was a good morning in retrospect. It definitely could have been much worse. Not that it was bad. I just felt bad that Jack Jack was tired and therefore a little cranky. A lesson learned! Get him to bed earlier before rope drop, especially after pumping him full of fun and sugar the night before. It might take a while for him to fall asleep!

:scared1: Uh oh! :scared1:

Yeah... uh oh is right. :sad2:

Nice update. Glad you made rope drop...I agree, that monorail from the Poly is so convenient!

Totally spoiled me!

Yum...must eat at Main Street Bakery sometime....

Yes you must!!!

Main Street looks so empty in the castle pics!

It was pretty empty. I'm officially a rope drop convert!
:thumbsup2

:yay: for PoC as the first (walk-on) ride! Love it!

And a Dole Whip!

Sounds like a successful morning. I'm glad Jack-Jack calmed down too.

PoC was the perfect way to start our day! Loved the Whip even if Jack Jack stole most of it!

Catching up!!

Ohana does look sooo yummy. But wow, messy too. I'm a bit weird about messy foods in public. Yeah, I need to get over myself. We HAVE to try that place!! Loved the pics!!

Ohana is SOOOO YUMMY! I used to have an issue with getting messy in public too. But honestly with the hot towels they bring you, the distance between the tables, the entertainment they have keeping the eyes on them and not on you and the fact that EVERYONE is eating the same foods, it's not bad at all! No one is looking or cares. And it tastes so good you forget about the mess very quickly! :lmao:

Jack Jack came around, thankfully. He's generally a pretty good kid. So I guess after his mini meltdown he recovered. I can relate. Sometimes I need a mini meltdown too before I feel better!

Gotta have a Dole Whip. The whip itself is pineapple soft serve. A lot of folks like it as a float with either pineapple or vanilla soft serve with pineapple juice. I'm a purist. Just give me the pineapple soft serve and I'm happy!
Let me know what you thought of your first one!

I made an 'Ohana ressie earlier today for March. I'm not 100% it will stick, but under current plans it's a go! I thought of you as I made the ressie! This time; however, I will NOT eat myself sick! I must restrain myself and end the goodness before it's too late!
