Ok I need help! This will be my first time purchasing APs. I want the best deal possible so the current DVC discount is great......so, should I buy now to avoid losing that discount or wait to see if they discount more? If I buy now and they discount further can you get credited? TIA :)

They do not refund the difference.

If they do offer a deeper discount, you can always buy them at that point as well, and then use them next year.

Of course, you are tying up a lot of money in tickets.

I do not see them taking the AP discount away. At least any time soon. I read the posts here and I just do not believe them.

Unless you need them in the near future, I would wait. But that is just me.

'You gotta ask yourself, do you feel lucky?'

Here's what you can do (And please somebody correct me if I'm wrong and they have changed this), but what I understood could be done was.....Buy a 5 day parkhopper discounted park ticket from Undercover tourist. With the mousesaver.com discount you will save $29 off the gate price on that ticket.

Now take that ticket....and enter the park with it. Once you have entered the park, it will bring the value of that discounted ticket up to the full gate value (not $29 less). Than you can go to Guest relations and UPGRADE your 5 day parkhopper to an AP. You will get the DVC AP price and you pay the difference of the gate value 5 day parkhopper to the AP price. This way you have saved $29 for EACH one you buy. If buying 4, that's $116 savings.

Again, I know you USED to be able to do this....but I'm not sure if they changed this with the upgraded Magic band entry system.

I did this in May, and it worked fine. No problems at all with my Magicband and FP+.

i did not mess with it i bought the passes over the weekend list price was 2100 after tax i paid 1530 with the DVC discount for 3 passes.....we are not going until august i have a bad feeling changes are coming and there will be an increase no matter what they might keep the 150 off but it could be 150 off a higher price.

That's me too. I buy the tickets I need when I need them. When it's time to buy tickets, I look for the best deal for the travel I have in mind.

I did this just over a month ago, because our travel plans changed between when I bought our tickets and when we took the trip. No problems. It wasn't the plan all along though.

I'm so torn! We are going April 25-may 2 and again October 23-30 so the AP makes sense and I need than for my FP. I think I feel safer just buying the discount APs now I guess? :s

What stinks is buying my moms AP. No DVC discount! Ouch! I may just buy her a 7 day hopper and upgrade before we leave so she can use it in Oct and again in April 2016.

If you only need a regular AP, I would go ahead and buy it. That's what I did last month. The DVC promo APs offered were Premium AP's, which include water parks and Disney Quest, pretty close to the price of a regular AP.
