Would you prefer shorter yearly trips (5 days or so) or longer trips every two or three years (10 days or so)?

For me I would rather take a 5 or so day trip every year. But it would also depend on how far I had to drive. If I had to drive a couple of days to get there I would probably vote for longer less frequent trips.

I would much prefer shorter annual trips. Aside from getting back to WDW every year, a week is about all I can handle without getting burned out. I can't imagine spending 10+ days there at one time. It's fantastic, but it's exhausting.

We do 2-3 week trips every 3-4 years, We prefer to stay longer. The last trip was from August 7-25 2011. The next trip will be land/sea August 1-8 on a Disney cruise and August 8-27 at WDW.

After a week I have had enough, my feet have had enough, my stomach has had enough Disney food, and my wallet has had enough.

Much of the fun and excitement is the planning and the "arrival". Those first few hours are priceless. The more times I can capture those moments of anticipation and wonder, the better. So for me, two five-day trips with two opportunities to plan, with two unique sets of ADRs and two arrival days is better than one ten-day trip. But I appreciate that there is little logic to this, so feel free to disagree.

Longer, less frequent. For several years we went twice a year, then once every year, for a week. Somewhere along the way it seemed like the magic was lacking, so we cut back. Best trip we ever had was 10 nights. It was late August, hotter than hades, but we were there long enough to see everything, not die of the heat, and not wear ourselves to a frazzle. We had plenty of time to see everything, but do it at a leisurely pace. It was great- can't wait until we have that opportunity again!

We are shorter trip people. We live about 550 miles away (NC) and have mastered the drive down (flew just once for marathon). We would much rather be able to hit the World once or twice a year than have to wait two years to go back. Of course, our approach can butt up against tickets. We first got a 10-day pass with no expiration, which seemed like the best deal for us. Took us at least three trips to use that up, as our kids were a lot younger and we would plan a trip for roughly three park days with a resort/pool/DTD day somewhere in the middle. We then re-upped and got a second 10-day, no-expiration pass after we finished off the first one. Finished it off last year and just took the plunge and got APs, which is going to mean a handful of short trips over the coming year.

If getting to WDW was a lot harder for us, I would, however, be tempted to do longer trips, but wow, over a week anywhere takes a lot of, uh, courage, not to mention cash!

Why do you have to choose? If it's money, perhaps you could try staying off site and get the whole 10 days each week?

I know some are tired of my harping on this, :confused3...but...I just priced out a Free Dining stay and found that even with free dining it was not cheaper for us than staying off site in condo with a kitchen, 3 bedrooms, our own washer/dryer, etc....and rent a car...and buy our own meals. We're starting a trip next week for 3 weeks because of those savings. We'll go again in September/October for probably 4 weeks which is cheaper than a much shorter trip onsite.

Longer trip, not as often. We've done one 5-day trip, and it was way too short. We now do 10-11 day trips about every other year, sometimes 18 months between. Plenty of time to visit each park at least two full days and do the things we ant to do; by the time the nest trip rolls around, we are excited and ready for it. We've done two (8-10 day) trips in one year a couple times, and we almost got tired of it.

Definitely less-frequent longer trips. I like the idea of not feeling like I have to cram everything in to a short time-frame and having the ability to have down-time. Also, in the long run, this route is less expensive.

Without question, we would choose to wait until we could do a full 14 day trip. I have a very stressful job and it takes me nearly a week to really relax. A 5 day vacation anywhere is totally wasted on me.

Longer, not as frequent trips. I'm averaging every two years now, I miss it in between trips but it gives me time to plan other vacations. Plus airfare isn't cheap, so I like to stretch out my vacations as long as possible. I also think I'd feel rushed without at least a full week.
