I wasn't sure where to post this so I hope this is ok.

My boyfriend and I were curious to learn about how the DVC worked. We are no where near ready to purchase, but since he is in law school now I have grand visions of him earning a decent chunk of change in the future (one can hope!) and I thought hey in a few years, this might be doable! So I went ahead and ordered the free DVD because I simply wanted some info, to learn how it worked, etc.

But now Disney has been calling me. The first three times they didn't leave a message, but I recently missed two calls where they left a voicemail (I often have my phone on vibrate or silent so I rarely answer it lol). I am really not wanting to talk to someone about it on the phone because as I said I am 100% not ready to buy anything. Will the eventually stop calling or should I just answer and tell them not to call again? I hate telling people no because I feel like such a jerk asking them not to call me. I know I was the one to request info, but I thought I was going to get the no-pressure DVD, not a phone call! And I haven't even received a DVD! When I ordered the vacation planning DVD a few months ago no one called me, so I just assumed this would be the same.

Just pick up and tell them the truth, including the fact that you are in no position to purchase at this time. Salespeople don't want to waste their time. They'd rather be calling someone who actually might be ready to purchase.

Maybe they are calling because the DVD has been delayed. As the previous poster said, just answer it (or call them back) and be honest.

Disney will not pressure you into anything. We went to their live presentation 2 times before we bought, and we bought resale in the end. I would just see what they are calling about, maybe they just want to answer any questions you may have. You can always hang up! But I highly doubt there will be any pressure at all.

I requested and received the DVD about 3 years ago. Got just 1-2 calls, and several follow up e-mails. It all stopped in a few weeks. I actually enjoy toying with sales people. As a result, I love buying cars! :)

When we requested info in 2004 my guide called once and I told her I needed to think about it. She never called again. And then 1.5 years later I called her.

Then when I inquired about an add on she never bothered me about purchasing one.

But I think they are a little more agreesive now, as I did start getting a phone call from her now and then, but they never pressured me.

I hope they don't start pressuring anyone, because that is such a turn off.

It took me a year and a half to decide to buy in and I have to tell you it was a great purchase for our family. We are headed there next week for a 7 day stay.We just moved to Florida so we are super close and can make many weekend trips throughout the year. Thats the best part of Dvc,you don't have to go for a week.

Good luck with your decision.
