So I finally started watching True Blood....

Plenty more pics in that thread. :thumbsup2

Ok, I have to go to church tomorrow, I can't be looking at that kind of stuff. OMG. How delish is he?

I enjoy this show but I think for me the premise outweighs the writing/acting(though I think both are good in this case). I got in from the very first episode, maybe that makes a difference?:)

Enjoyed the books, hated the first 4 episodes but stuck with it because I enjoy the books. Now I love the show. Or rather I love Eric.

Did I mention I love Eric?

Did something change after the first four episodes, or did you just into it? I liked Alan Ball's Six Feet Under, is True Blood similar in any ways?

I think I just found the characters flat but after 4 episodes I began to appreciate that about them (they aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer). I thought Season 1 was the worst.

and PLEASE tell me it gets better. Pretty Please?

I am only done with episode two and honestly if it weren't for the fact that everybody raves about the show and it DID get some emmy nominations, I would've bailed by now.

I have no problem with any "deviations" from the book. It's the God awful accents, and the terrible stilted acting. The girl who plays Tara...did they find her acting in a high school play somewhere?? Yeesh she's bad.

The only bright spot is Steven Moyer's "smoldering". If I get to see him naked I'll keep chugging along.

Anna Paquin's hackneyed performance will only be tolerable much longer if something exciting happens soon or the plot starts to wake up.

So tell me...is it worth sticking it out, or should I pull the plug? I liked the books.
I started watching it when the show originally came out, but bailed after 2 episodes because of the awful accents. Figured I'd give it another try last month and borrowed season 1 from a friend. LOVED it. But I think I'm an oddball, i find Bill & Sookie to be very annoying, I prefer all the other characters, Sam and Eric in particular. Watched all of season 1&2 but now have to figure out how to get caught up with season 3, was hoping it was on itunes, but no.

You're supposed to drool over the pics BEFORE you go to church, so you have something to confess. ;)

I love the show. It is my favorite part about Sunday nights. Tomorrow is the last episode for the season:worship:

Actually the finale won't come on until Sept 12th. They're holding it for after the holiday....unfortunately!:sad1:

At least you figured it out after two episodes; I muddled through the whole first season waiting for it to grow on me. I also WANTED to like it because I had heard from friends how great it is. I just don't get it either. They all look like they need showers and the setting is just downright depressing. Don't waste your time on the rest of the season, because if you don't like it now, it doesn't get any better.

DH and I are two episodes from the end of Season 2 and have enjoyed it (although it really is pretty bizarro!) A distinct 'zombie-like' flavour this season. But, as much as I love Eric (the scene with the hair foils killed me) I do have to admire Eggs' 'sixpack'. Holy catfish!!! Is he ripped or what? :thumbsup2

I just started watching the show this past month. My daughter wanted a book series to read and I suggested it. I have not read them yet, but plan to. After the 1st book, she bought the 2nd book as well as the 1st season on DVD. After watching the 1st season, she bought the 2nd. She told me I HAD to watch them. My husband and I watched both seasons in 2 weeks. We want to see season 3 so bad, but we do not have HBO.

I LOVE Eric. :lovestruc He is my daughters favorite as well.

My computer background is the True Blood Rolling Stone cover.

I'm hearing a distinct common theme...Eric.

Is he worth sticking around for his contribution to the show as far as acting, or cause the character is entertaining or for strutting about waving his "naughyt bits"?

Cause I can find pics of Alexander Skarsgaard on the net without having to be tortured with an hour of Anna Paquin's horrible acting and gap-tooth smile. She's worse than Letterman! And after she ruined X-Men with her shamefull rendition of my favorite comic book character (lousy accent again) I am floored that someone thought she'd make a good Sookie.

I do like Jason.

I love the character Eric. Even the tone of his voice is appealing. If I just saw pics if him without knowing the character, I would not feel the same.

I also enjoy Jason. He's amusing.

If you don't like it now- you just won't like it at all- stop watching.

I think accents are usually horrible- I'm from New England and whenever I hear someone do a NE accent I cringe.

Being from Maine, I have to agree with you.

I agree. I think Eggs wins in attractiveness (physically), he's ridiculously hot!... but I still love them both.
