So, How long does this bug last?

I knew it was going to be an interesting day when DS was still sleeping at 7 am, he's usually up between 5:30 and 6. Good news for me I got to sleep late. The bad news after breakfast DS became a barfomatic.

So, to all that have been through this latest bug, How long does it last? I really don't enjoy cleaning this up. He's 13 months so its not like he can tell me its going to happen or he'll even make it to a bucket. I guess I'll be renting that carpet cleaner sooner than I thought. Hopefully DD won't get it.

Aww poor little guy.
In me the throwing up lasted about 12 hours or so. I still feel rotten, and I've been sick since Sunday, but at least that part is over. I can't tell you how long the entire bug lasts, since I'm not over it yet, but a lot of people are saying 24-36 hours. It's a nasty one.

I hope that DS is feeling better soon. I noticed that itchy feeling in the back of my throat last night. I woke up with a headache and without the ability to swallow. Ick. It's no fun to be sick, especially when you are a child. And when I'm sick, my wife says that I act like a child.

Im very sorry! All 7 of us had it last weekend.
Most likely you will all get it and most of us threw and went for 10 hours. Then the next day your tired and sore from throwing. $ of us had it at the exact same time. It was the worst bug we have ever had! Good luck and eat light for the next few days!

My husband and 3 children had it this weekend. They were all feeling better in 24 hours.

It's tough on the little ones. My 21 month old got it all over his crib. I think it is harder on them because they can't tell us what hurts and they want us to make it feel better. I gave him Pedialyte and saltines when he started to feel up to eating.

I tried desperately for my children to stay away from one another and they started falling like dominoes. I think it is in the air and there is nothing you can do to prevent them from getting sick.

I also got this lovely bug on Sunday. I feel better today but not 100% just yet. So far no one else has gotten it in the house. I'm keeping my fingers crossed... Hope your ds feels better soon.

So sorry your family is sick!
We had it last week. For us the actual getting sick lasted about 12 hours; add to that the time feeling just plain horrible and it was about 24-36 hours for each of us. It was bad! My 4-year-old is learning to count, so he tried to count the times my 2-year-old got sick but he lost count at about 20---yikes!
I hope your family will be feeling much better soon!

My brother just got that today and the doctor said it lasts about 2-3 days and make sure you wash your hand a lot. She also said that cool tea without any sugar is good for stopping vomiting.

The bug that has been making its way around my entire extended family (we see each other daily) and close friends has been really hard on the little ones. My niece (just turned 1 last week) vomited for several days and was weak for about 1.5 weeks. My nephew (13 months) also vomited a couple of days and was weak for about a week. (yeah, funny use of words) I hope it hits your little one a lot easier.
