So... How is the Wonder getting to Vancouver in 2019??

There is no San Diego to Vancouver sailing listed in the new release!

I had not even noticed that until a friend pointed it out on FB. I went to check, and it was not included on the first 2019 release either. Unless it's already sold out and therefore not showing?

Obviously from dates it would be 5/15-20. But it's not listed on the new releases.

Sold out? Charter? Forgotten in the rush to get things out?

(Just to note: I couldn't go on it anyway because school year. I just found it interesting.)

If I remember correctly they haven't always included the less popular repo cruises. Its there, just not in their press release (or they really did charter it this time!)

I was interested in this cruise since I live in California and it has historically been one of the less expensive cruises. I would probably still go if it were a DVC cruise. Guess time will tell..

It's my understanding that the Fantasy & Dream itineraries were going to be released sooner, and the Magic & Wonder ones later.

Looks like a 5n repo.

Last San Diego departs on May 12, 2019 (3n), returning May 15th
First Alaska sailing departs on May 20, 2019

But most, if not all, of the Alaska season that would follow the missing repo was announced in this latest release. That makes little sense.

We were interested in that cruise, too. Hope it is listed later, or certainly by the time we can access/book when the gold CC members check in for next summer's offerings.

Possibly the ports (if there are any) on a California coastal repo haven't been finalized yet. The Alaska cruises are pretty much standard ports, so those probably were already lined up.

Really want to know what is happening with this cruise. We are traveling from Australia and planned to do this cruise plus the first Alaskan cruise B2B. Hope it’s just an oversight otherwise I guess it’s back to the drawing board to redo our entire trip plans.

Is there any chance the gap here could be for a short dry dock? I ask bc we are planning our first cruise and are considering the first Alaska sailing on May 20th. I would want to avoid the chance of cruising near a dry dock, so risk of one may push us to the next sailing.

Five nights does seem too short for one though, I hope? I think the shortest one for the Wonder was 10 nights, but they seem to happen about every few years, at least a shorter one (not major, like last time) so the Wonder would be due for a short one around then.

I was wondering that, too. They might want to put on-demand programming into the stateroom TVs, as is reportedly being done on the Magic now.

Not likely a dry dock. Not sure there are any shipyards that could accommodate a dry dock on the west coast. It might be an issue of ports. I recall doing the southern West Coast repo from Vancouver to Long Beach port a few years back. It was a six night with an overnight in San Francisco. They were doing a lot of remodel work on staterooms so the ship was not very full and the overnight in San Francisco allowed for a lot of materials to be taken on and off.

My guess is, it will be a charter.

Oh, I hope you're right! Interesting details about your prior cruise, too. Thanks for sharing.

ETA - Btw I just took a look again online & see the Wonder dry-docked in Vancouver in 2011, so it is possible to do one there, but again, it would be unusually short. Plus, the ship would also need to sail from San Diego to Vancouver, so a dry dock seems highly unlikely. I guess I won't worry about it.

Clearly I'm so excited about this trip that I'm drastically over-thinking things! :rolleyes2
