We have never been on MS for fear of getting yucky. We did Body Wars once and never again!! Those of you who have been on MS before the changes and felt ill, how does the new one compare? Has anyone not felt well after riding the new version?

I felt sick on body wars several years ago too and will never do it again. I did ride the new version of Mission Space and didn't feel bad at all. I've never ridden the original because I get sick spinning. I think the new version is similar to Star Tours at MGM. If that doesn't bother you, then the new MS shouldn't either.

We just got back! Half our group rode the new version (less intense they call it) and the other half rode the intense.
I was on the less intense, I normally don't like spinning rides...tea cups for example, but I really had no problem with this version of the ride! And as a side note, I read that this less intense side is not suppose to spin, but I found the sensation of the take off to be "real". I also enjoyed the "flight".. all though I was a little late extending my landing gear!!
Have Fun!!

I know this sounds stupid, but I get very claustrophobic, and was wondering if the new/old version seats are tight or cramped?
Thanks for any help! :thumbsup2

The seats are not tight or cramped but there is very little room to move around.

I don't know about the new version, but the old version you are put in a capsule with three other people. If you don't like to be locked into something it may be a bit too claustrophobic for you!

When I go later this month I'll have to try the new version. I have been on the older version many times, and I thought the spinning is what gave the sensation of the lift off, without the spinning I'm curious what makes the sensation the same .? :confused3 It'll give me an excuse to do both rides.

I did the new version and it was fine for me. I can't do excessive spinning anymore so I passed on the original version. My seven year old did both of them and enjoyed the original version more.

I agree, there has to be spinning still... thats what creats the G-Forces. Like in astro orbiter or dumbo/magic carpets. you go in a circle + move up and down = G-Forces. The new version must spin at a lower RPM so you don't feel as much? :confused3

I never got dizzy on MS so I can't really tell a difference anyway. Its not like the spinning sensation of the tea cups. That could get me sick..full stomach + looking out to the crowds around the ride + spinning uncontrollably= :crazy2:.

Do they have the same warnings posted for the new version?

No they don't have the same warnings on the new one. The new warning was altered to take out the spinning.

Last year we did the wild version and my DH was a little ill..last week we did the mild version and it is great!! We really had fun doing it! You still go through the same areas as the wild version, so all the warnings are posted everywhere. We had at least 4 cast members to go through looking at which ticket we held to make sure we weren't in the wild line unless we wanted to be! You are still in the closed capsule and there isn't much space to move around once the screens are lowered and you are belted in. The cold air blowing right on your face feels wonderful on a steaming hot day! We are so glad they now offer this alternative!!
