hey all,
It's a bit late to reconsider (not like I would ever) but how bonkers is April 7th - 15th. MY GF is a teacher and it's the only time she has off. Obviously it's when everyone else has off as well. I just wanted to know if anyone has gone this time of year. Are we looking at 1hr+ waits for most of the major attractions? Would we even be able to see Fantasmic without getting there atleast an hr early. Any info would be appreciated. I guess I'm just making sure we didn't make a mistake.

I don't think you made a mistake...just be ready for plenty of company!

Yes, the week will be VERY busy. Many schools are closed most or all of that week. Just arrive at the parks when they open, and use FastPass.

Touringplans.com has that week as 10s, highest possible crowds.

On a positive note the MK will have Extra Magic Hours all that week. The parks will be opened early and stay open very late each night.

If you dont want to eat counter service all week or wait in huge lines, then make some adrs asap if you havent done so already. It will be very busy. We have encountred alot of standing room only on busses, actual lines to wait to get fast passes, our teen ds think that is amazing in itself, people being turned away from sit down restraunts without adrs, fast pass return times up to 6 hours later. If you plan well you will have a good time. I have already made up our touring schedule, adrs are booked and the ds will do the later 3 am emh 2 nights. Have a great trip and bring lots of patience with you!!

As a veteran of Christmas twice, July fourth twice, and Easter twice, its packed but dont fret. Heres what has worked for us:

1. Get there early
2. Have a plan, get FP's and be prepared to hit MK twice that way you can focus on one side of the park one day and the other side another day.
3. Leave by 1-2 pm. Go abck and swim/relax.
4. Only plan on going back to the parks at night to eat, or see lesser rides/shows. Most big rides will be too long a wait and NO FP's left, so go to take in the atmosphere, get a CS meal and enjoy the night. But dont go back expecting to do rides/shows.
5. its WDW so have fun!

4/7 is official opening of EE, so that'll add to the craziness.

Was at AK over this past weekend - very busy. A CM we know told us there were about 25000 ppl there.

And they've been told to expect 45000 per day over the grand opening weekend.

Funny you should say AK was busy over the weekend. We were there Saturday and even DH who hates crowds was pleasantly surprised. Of course we just went the week between Christmas and New Years, so anything would look pleasant compared to that mob.

Over New Years, our strategy was to sleep in and get to the park around 4 pm, then stay til closing. Fast Passes were often already gone for the day, but by midnight the lines weren't bad at all. You have to be a night owl for this to work!

thank you all so much for the feedback. Unfortunatley we are not staying on Disney property this time around, so it's gonna be tough getting to the parks really early. I have made a couple ADR's and already have the tripped planned on what days we will be going to each park. I also tried to avoid parks the same day they had EMH's. I hope all of this helps. thanks again
