So freaking disappointed...UGHHHHHHHHH

But aren't you glad all those people crazy enough to care line up to meet them, leaving fewer people in front of you in line for something else?

No need to come here and chastise the OP.
Unless they go to standby+ on a permanent basis and then all of these people will still be in line in front of me. ;)

I agree that you can't really break the attractions down like that though particularly when it comes to kids. They see the world in such a different way from most of us.

Well, there's that. :p

No way to know yet if that will happen or if they do a bunch of attractions into SB+ all at once. If they do that, they might tie it into your MB and allow only one SB+ pass at a time, so everyone who takes an A/E SB+ will be kept from taking all the other SB+ slots the PP might want. pixiedust:

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Literally a college kid in a fancy dress. That's all it is. Why some people get so worked up over it is beyond me.

Why do people get worked up about anything? Sports, celebrities, a new Apple product, seeing a favorite musician, etc.

You go once a week. So of course things are not a big deal to you if you miss it. For somebody who's having the first time trip or doesn't get to go often it could be a big deal.

I so agree. It's so easy to say this when you get to go often. This is a common attitude among locals or people who get to go a lot...including a lot of Disney bloggers etc. Or of course if it's just something that doesn't interest them ;)

Yes, don't give up... right up to the last day! As a pp said, check at the 45 day mark for openings from canceled trips, but even after that!
I am one of the lucky ones, there were FP's available on day 3 and day 10 of my trip - I booked both of them because i wanted to have a back up in case something happened and we didn't make the first one. But once the first M&G happens, as it most likely will, we will cancel the second one so that someone else can have it. DD wanted to meet them twice, but when I explained the situation, she was more than happy to give up the second one to, in her words "make another little girl's dream come true".

Sending pixie dust your way so you can get something! My 15-year old DD wants to see A&E and she would be disappointed. But at least she understands the workings of FP+ and standby lines. 4-year olds do not :(.

Have there been changes to this or something the last couple of weeks?

I logged on for a trip the first week of September and got my A&E with zero problems whatsoever. I know that week is extremely slow, but it's almost daily now I see posting that nothing was available.

Sounds like you got really lucky. Since hours are shorter that time of year (many days closing at 7 for MNSSHP) there are fewer slots available. Part of me also wonders if they have cut the duplicate pair back to a single pair because of the lower crowd levels. It really seems to have been much more of a problem with Sept dates forward.

I do that often, and I still go once a week. I just don't see the point in having a coronary over something that can easily be explained as 'that's life, and it sucks at times'. We all survive.

Please realize this....

1. YOU go often. Most of us do not.

2. Most of us save up for our Disney trip for a year plus. So yes, we will want to cry and "have a coronary" over ensuring we see and do the big attractions in the parks that mean the world to us and our children. When we are paying thousands of dollars and taking time away from our homes and jobs for our dream trip, we want to make sure we can see and do the things that are MOST IMPORTANT TO US....which means they may not be important to you. And...THAT'S OK!!!!!!!!

3. For some, this may be a once in a lifetime trip. Some folks who are fortunate to go weekly, etc. take that for granted!! We plan, plan, plan, & save, save, save to make our dream vacation come true!!! Please don't discount the OPs feelings about this. It is obviously important to her and she sought help out here from fellow DISers.

OP....I'm with you 100%. In same boat. Hoping to get A&E FP for our trip in 41 days!! :) Good luck to you!!!!!!!

I also tried on most recommended and non party days as well. Sometimes being lucky is better than good I guess.

I agree, something changed when the Sept dates started, there weren't as many people with issues like this 2 or 3 weeks ago. It's more than just shorter hours. I was playing with FP+ about a month ago and saw A & E available at 30 days for August dates.

I think something has changed recently too. Our trip is September 1st - 6th and I had no problems getting A&E or 7DMT when the booking window opened. There was availability even a few days after it opened. Sorry OP - keep checking and hopefully persistance pays off!

You can't book one at a time when you are making FP selections for a child under 7 years of age. They have to be booked with someone 14 years of age or older. I'm running across the same thing in finding an A&E FP for my 4 year old for our trip in 43 days. Yeah, I've seen single ones available, but why am I going to go in by myself or have DH go by himself? The system won't let me book DD alone. Pointless for us unless I can find 2 together.

Would I be able to get FPs for my granddaughters to go in alone (ages 12 and 9)? If so, is there a MM photographer that can take their pictures?

Yes and Yes. Although MM photographer isn't guaranteed. It would probably be some kind of weird happenstance for there not to be one.

Yes, children 7 and over may do attractions alone. I would be shocked if there was no MM photographer!

I totally understand, OP. I have a little princess who is dying to see A&E too, and this is a once in a lifetime trip for us. I stayed up late the night my 60 day window opened and there wasn't even ONE slot available for any day of our trip for us either (September 22 on).

Freaking disappointed is a good description if you ask me. When you're paying this kind of money for a dream vacation, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that you'll get to do what's important to you/your family. :confused3

:thumbsup2 True. I think most of the Frozen hysteria is adult driven anyway. Kids are tougher than their parents think.

It may end up that the OP can't get the FPs. Her daughter will be more upset if mom is having a freaking nervous breakdown over it. Life is disappointing sometimes. I would just warn her now that she may not get to meet the characters and give her some time to get used to the idea.

"let it go, let it go..."

Not to hijack the thread but do parents have to make reservations too? I'm not going to meet them. Just the kiddos. Was unsure. :)

Yes. If you go through the line then you need a FP+.
