So freaking disappointed...UGHHHHHHHHH

You go once a week. So of course things are not a big deal to you if you miss it. For somebody who's having the first time trip or doesn't get to go often it could be a big deal.

Exactly.

So, what are people doing if they can't get fp's?

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Literally a college kid in a fancy dress. That's all it is. Why some people get so worked up over it is beyond me.

Most 4 y/os don't understand that it's a college kid in a fancy dress. to many it's magic getting to meet the characters in person.

:thumbsup2 True. I think most of the Frozen hysteria is adult driven anyway. Kids are tougher than their parents think.

It may end up that the OP can't get the FPs. Her daughter will be more upset if mom is having a freaking nervous breakdown over it. Life is disappointing sometimes. I would just warn her now that she may not get to meet the characters and give her some time to get used to the idea.

"let it go, let it go..."

To the bolded: since when does making a post to vent about something online equate to having a nervous breakdown over something in front of your child?

I told my kids Peter Pan wasn't worth waiting for because it's just a bunch of crappy 1970's "robotics" less impressive than a Roomba with a little bit of plaster & paint smeared on. We did have a hard time finding something worth doing after that, though.

They were all likely taken by empty nesters just to irritate people with small children.

Yep...and you probably also think those of us without young children (mine just turned 18) should sit on the curb holding a parade spot for YOUR children right. No problem....come find me and I'll give you my space. :lmao:

Why isn't there a troll smiley thingy????

Two choices.....cancel your entire Disney trip because FP has ruined your trip or......... maybe ...........standing in line, lol.

According to the app right now (Monday 6:10pm) there is only a 40 minute wait. That is less wait than BTMR (60); Buzz (45); ETWB (55) Haunted Mansion (50) Jungle Cruise (55) Peter Pan (75), Space Mtn (70) Splash Mtn (110); Under the Sea (45).

So I guess be glad your kid likes Anna/Elsa rather than Splash, Peter, Space or BTMR, lol.

Mornings seem to be the time for the 90+ waits....as the day wears on either more "friends" are there to help, or more likely people either got in after their long wait or gave up altogether.

The bolded may not be an option if the SB+ test comes back for A&E (and potentially other headliners)

I would recommend trying again at midnight exactly 30 days before you want to visit A&E. Do the same 7 days before and the morning of. I've heard more FP+ reservations are offered at those times.

That being said, I cannot stress enough that you be online at 12:00.01 and start trying.

This is what always gets me. Do people not realize that this is how all theme parks used to be? (And many still are.) You want to do something, you stand on a line. When I was a kid you didn't even know how long the wait time was. Like on the monorail thing at the Bronx Zoo, you stand back, watch the line for a minute, see how fast it's moving, then decide whether waiting is worth it to you. Such a novel concept!

I was in the parks late May (the beginning of the busy summer season). I had a poster that I made for the school I work at and wanted all the characters to sign it. I walked up to the FP kiosk in the morning and told the lady there that I wanted to get as many characters as possible to sign the poster so sign me up for anything! We went through and she picked out Ariel and Tinkerbell when all of a sudden, A&E pops up! Better yet, it started in an hour! The lady didn't even ask, she just grabbed it and said, "I've never seen that before!" and showed it off to the other cast members there. When I walked in I was expected to never even get close to them so it was certainly a surprise. She said that since I was one person by myself it was much easier to get in then a group or family.

So don't give up. It's possible something may pop up! Worse comes to worse, they are in the parade so get a FP for it and get a good spot. Also, check out Sir Mickey's, the store next to PFTH, since they have the most Frozen merchandise.

Btw, if the kids at school ask, I will show them the picture I took of the wait time sign which was 300 minutes. Hopefully they'll think I'm cool since I waited all that time for them. :cool1:

Ok, but then they wouldn't have to stand in line for an hour or two. I know people were up in arms about it...and yeah, being the guinea pig when you have no clue what's going on sucks, but I think IF they can make it work the way it's supposedly planned to work it sounds great. BUT....they gotta make sure everyone knows what's going on.....until it becomes the "norm" there are going to be problems and people angry thinking they could wait until evening and get in line. And I feel for them...I'd be a bit miffed too if they made such a big change and I didn't know (but thankfully I read DIS enough to know all these changes before some of the CM's even seem to know).

Once this becomes the norm, and people aren't angry for not understanding, I think it will be a great thing.....not unlike the good parts of the old FP system....show up early, get your card (previously known as a paper FP) and come back later. The only real difference is those who didn't get a FP used to be able to just stand in line forever....and now sounds like they can't. But again, if you were around when FP (old style) first started, there was total chaos while people figured out what it all meant and how it worked......not quite as much, but still a lot of grumbling and complaining when FP+ came out and now it's almost become the "norm".

Change is never easy, and it definitely sucks for the changes to come while you've got your perfect plan literally in your hand, but eventually this will be seen as a better system than hours in line for a 3 minute interaction or ride.

They still gotta figure out how to deal with those who aren't rope drop runners, but that will come in time. I hope.

Careful, you're showing your age here. Just be careful not to mention to anyone how we had to wait until certain movies came on ONCE A YEAR and heaven help you if that was the night your family had to go visit Aunt Betty who didn't believe in those new fangled telly vision things. Oh my talk about disappointment and tears!

My kids laugh their behinds off at me every year around the holidays when I get all excited and put notes on our wall calendar about Rudolph or Santa is Coming to Town or Charlie Brown or It's A Wonderful Life.....and all the rest....are going to be on network Television. Every year they remind me that we OWN those movies on DVD and can watch them, and stop them for potty or popcorn breaks, any day or night we want. They just don't understand the difference and excitement of sitting down to watch it on TV. Rasafras little whippersnappers. :lmao:

Thank you for your willingness to share. Unfortunately that date won't work for us... hopefully someone else on here can enjoy those FP+'s.

Absolutely! My boyfriend and I are traveling without kids. Honestly, we wouldn't mind meeting A&E, but I know that small kids will enjoy it more.
