Just came back from the post office....that doesn't sound very exciting I know. But this morning we made an offer, that was accepted, on a BWV resale. The contract was faxed to us this afternoon and we just went to mail it along with our deposit. We already own at BWV but only had 150 pts. This purchase brings our total to 300 BWV points!! YIPPEEEEEE!!

Congratulations!! We just added on 150 at OKW.....in the closing process now!! Are you sure 300 will be enough????:D

Thanks for sharing in my excitement over our resale purchase. Anyone here finish the resale process recently? Wondering how long we should expect things to take? Hoping things will be done by the end of May so that we can make reservations for next spring at the 11 month window.

:)

Congratulations. We signed our contract on 2/11 and closed on 3/28. We were able to make ressies on 4/4. I think disney is a little slower on their end now with BCV sales so busy. Also the main closing person was on vacation for a week for us. I hope yours goes quicker.

I finished my federal return before heading to VWL on 4/12, but ran out of time and did not finish my state return. I finished it on 4/15, asked for directions to the post office, and found that I was not the only person on vacation mailing a tax return!!

The cars in the parking lot were from all over New England, one guy was in the post office asking if anyone knew the IRS address in Andover Mass. What a hoot. Would not recommend this for anyone to do on vacation, but the post office is very close to the crossroads!

We have 300 at BWV too. We did the same thing you did-- bought two 150 pt. contracts. Now I want more. :) How good of a deal did you get?

Our BWV Resale details:

December use year, 150 point contract-
98 points remaining from 2001 that we had the current owner bank into next year as we are taking our trip on cash next month due to our previous lack of points. All 150 pts. from December 2002, giving us a total of 248 points on December 1st, 2002. $64 per point, plus $400 closing fees for a total of $66.66 per point ($10,000). We only have to pay the maintenance fees on the 2002 points not on the 98 2001 points. Pretty good deal for us. We love BWV and like the fact that all of our points are at the same resort and have the same use year. :)

The same use year is a big plus-- we actually bought both of our contracts directly from Disney so they're in the same use year too. I can't imagine having to keep track of points in different use years, plus making ressies could be a nightmare!

Good for you! :smooth:

Awesome!! :) Congrats! Glad to hear you're enjoying your DVC membership as much as you are!

Congratulations from a fellow California BWV owner! I just finished my resale purchase. I sent in the signed contract and deposit in mid-March, and then sent in the closing check and first years dues on April 2nd. April 4th I closed, and when I called yesterday to Member Services I was in the system at DVC. So maybe that will give you an idea of how long it will take.
