I have no idea how to rent dvc points!!! I know NOTHING about this. How do I know which dvc resorts are available? We are taking a trip [later this month], not sure if it's even too late to get points but how do I find out what is available during that time? I think I was looking at the dvc points chart, for this time for [resort] for a studio it says 10 pts for Sun-Thur and 16 pts for Fri and Sat, so if I am staying thur-Mon would this be a total of 52 points? Is that how it works? I have never done this.

Given how close you are to your travel dates, it is unlikely you will find availability, but it is possible. The only way to know is to have a DVC member check with Member Services. You may wish to respond to a Points for rent or Reservation for Rent post on the DVC Rent/Trade board.
