So confused for banking/ressie's

Sorry for sounding stupid but I have such a hard time grasping the use year/banking/making reservations thing - I feel like an idiot! I added on with SSR last year so I could stop borrowing points every year. Then I made a booking for November and they said I had to borrow points from next year because SSR didn't close yet and those points wouldn't be available until the deal closed. Now it is September (my use year) and I have 100 SSR points because they borrowed next year's VWL points for this booking. I want to book December 2005 as soon as I can (which will be in January). Do I have to bank these points and then book? Do these points have to be used by August 2005 or just the reservation made?? I hope this isn't too confusing.

your use is Sept - are these 2004 points or 2005 points - the way you are talking they are this years points 2004 - so yes you need to bank them then make the Dec, 2005 reservation in January.

this year is only good until Sept, 2005 - and the reservation you want is after Sept, 2005 - so the 2004 needs to be banked.

Yes they are 2004 points. I was so hoping to be able to use them when I made the booking for November 2004 but things never work out that way. They made me borrow VWL 2005 points for that ressie instead because SSR didn't close until May. It would be so nice to have and use the points you get each year instead of all this banking and borrowing. I get so confused and I am afraid I will lose points. (actually I lost 2 points this year). Since I don't have to bank until February and I want to make the ressie in January, do I have to tell them to bank and then to use them?

you are making the reservation at SSR right - I think so - just tell the MS you are using 2004 points for the 2005 reservations. So they won't go get the 2005 points.

they can bank them and use them at that time. Make them tell you after the reservation is make how many points you have left in 2004 and 2005 years - if they get it wrong make them correct it then!!!!

now if you are trying for VWL in Dec - this won't work.
