So bummed with SWA from Dayton

We have been waiting patiently for SWA to come to Dayton and take over AirTran. It finally happened! We are only 40 min from there.

Now, when we go to book our trip, they aren't flying to Orlando except at seasonal times. Which so far is March 9-April 13 of next year.

AirTran is flying but I wanted to use our rewards points.

Sorry for your disappointment, and hope SWA service increases in Dayton. I live in Wheeling, and I can choose to fly from Pittsburgh (1-1/4 hr drive) or Columbus (2 hr drive). We usually choose Columbus because the price is better and we like the airport layout and quick in-and-out. Could you drive to Columbus? There's lots of SWA flights there.

but check the SWA site. I thought I read about being able to use RR points on AirTran flights.

It's unusual that SW came and went with AirTran still there. Eventually AirTran is being phased out so either SW will come back or neither will be there.

SW is still there but this particular flight is only there seasonal. I looked into swapping points, but it takes ALOT of SW points to transfer.

we always used to drive to Columbus and are trying to avoid that. Takes 2 hours to get there and then wait 2 hours- takes half our day...We like to go first thing in the morning and that requires us going up the night before....
