So annoyed by Usair!

We always fly Usair booking as soon as the rates our out and have always gotten the best deal. So using the same strategy I began last week watching the rates for our trip next april over easter. We originally were arriving on Wed before easter, but the rates were higher so we added Tuesday and decided to leave later in the day since the flights we much less. Today the rates for the monday after easter came out and although there are no more seats on the tuesday flight sold today then yesterday they hiked the tuesday price up $41+. I am so ticked the price of gas has gone down ,but airfare goes up.ARGHHHHHHHHH. I just needed to rant. I think we are going to wait and see what airtran or southwest have.

The price of gas has gone down? It jumped about 10 cents today in my area. Up to $4.09.

My experience has been that fares are high when they first come out, especially over a holiday. They bet that impatient people will pay it. I would hold off.

The price of fuel has not significantly gone down by any marginal amount, and is only one component that makes a price of a ticket. Airlines are under severe pressure due to the general rise in fuel prices (not just a spot day).

In spite of the fact that the price of oil per barrel has come down alot, the price of gas has not come down at all in our area. I was surprised to see that the price of gas actually rose from 3.99 to 4.05 today.
Even if the price of gas does come down the airlines would not be in a position to lower their prices significantly right away.

Its more than just fuel! Less flights and fewer seats !
