Snowmedic's Trip Report 2014

Today was somewhat of a exciting day. Watched a couple of CM's pitch a tent at site 2020, they barely finished when the occupants arrived.
Watched EMT head over to about site 2040, from what I understand a little boy got bit up bad by mosquitos. I have not noticed any at my site, and I have also been walking between that site and another to take the trail to the pool every night, and never noticed any.

Spent the day over at Cocoa beach today. Had a great time. The beaches on this side of the state aren't anything like Destin. The sand was, well, a sand color, not the nice white like Destin, and the sea shells everywhere. The water was also rough, couldn't swim, and cold also. But was still a good time.

As for site pics, here are a few. I am in site 2016 and the usable space is 20 x 28, a good size. I have a 18 x 17 tent and I can still get another smaller tent on with no problems. The site also has the little bump out for the grill and table so not to take up usable space.

and yes, the computer is logged onto Disboards. We brought our own internet pack with us from home so we can get it at the site.

Thank you so much for the pictures. It definitely looks cozy. If you aren't warm enough, you could run out and get some electric blankets. I love the way you have the lights on the front of your tent and how your beds are set up. Cute and cozy!

Your setup looks very spacious and neat/orderly, snowmedic.

I like the string of Christmas lights on the INSIDE of the tent. (check)

DIS pulled up on the laptop screen. (check)

DIS sign out by the street (somebody go say hello to snowmedic 'cause I can't). (check)

I hope you enjoy your relaxing coming days. You've still got a lot of time at the Fort left to go!

Bama Ed

PS - I'm dying to insert a crack referencing DW and neat/orderly (NOT) but she might read it in the post and I'd get in trouble...

Well, the neat and orderly is my doing. When on vacation, I do everything but laundry. So, she too is on a vacation as well.

Snowmedic We're from North Hartland, VT and it has been flurrying off an on all day. Thankfully it's not sticking, but it's cold.

Thank you. We thought about the electric blankets but decided to tough it out. The lights on the front are blue and they give off just enough light when returning in the dark, and also as a night light for DD 7.

Thanks, Bama Ed. I knew that the lights would give off enough light for the inside of the tent, then the other set running from the tent to a tree for the outside, so no lantern. Gives off plenty of light.

Well, here it is Friday evening, and only 8 days left at the Fort. Started planning for next year, about this same time again. I have been looping for the last couple days (3), on foot. So if any Diser's seen someone walking around with a camera it is I.

There are some really nice RV's throughout the campground, ( I like all the Prevost ), and I have seen a lot of Mickey lamp post. Have not ran into anyone on the boards yet, but more people will be coming in soon. I think I have walked every loop at least twice.

On to the pic posting

Dw and I seen this set up Thursday night and couldn't figure out what it was, so this morning I went and looked, and this is what I found

We are leaving tomorrow, was hoping to run into dissers. It is tough for us to get to 2000 loop. It's pretty far from 700 and with all the playing at the dog park mal was in no shape to make that trek. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

We are packed up ready for our adventure to start tomorrow! First time to the fort!

Yay, more pictures! Since you are planning this same time next year, you must be very comfortable. We are trying to figure out a time to go next year. DD13 is extremely resistant to camping so we'll see how that works out. I'm planning to show her your site pictures because it looks so cute and cozy. Thanks!

Thank you. With visiting at different times of the year, we feel this is the most comfortable. With the cool nights and low humidity during the day it is perfect.

Appreciating your posts Medic, thanks for taking the time. The lamposts look different, wonder what they used for a base...

Keep up the good work and we'll see ya soon.
