Kim (Wookie)- Congrats on getting the approval for an AP. Like you weren't going to do it anyway...you just have to let them think you want their opinions.

True, I would have just bought it sometime after mid November or December since we aren't planning on going until November 13, 2010. Also, one thing I've learned after 14 years of marriage is that men like to think it was their idea, even if we know it was really ours. ;)

Okay, we were going out to eat for our 15th anniversary, so my mom came to babysit...I have picture of just me and Mike, but How do I get more than one at a time? This is so confusing to me!!

Great picture Shawna! You have a beautiful family.

To post multiple pics just copy and paste each link to each picture you want to post.

thanks Shelly!! I will try some more today. That just really had me on edge:lmao: I am such a computer idiot. I never use them except to look up stuff or Dis. Mike on the other hand is a computer whiz...but he's been so busy I haven't even asked him to help me.. He may have to do this for me!! I wanted to put some pics of dd's ballet recital and the boys in their baseball uniforms from this year. It was really weird, they both ended up with red jerserys & #11 for both of them. They didn't get to pick their own #s this year.... they picked for them,so that was kinda odd!!!

totally OT :offtopic: What is your favorite facial cleanser? I am a shiny (oily) girl! So, I like anything drying!! A couple of years ago my Ob/Gyn put me on a BC pill for some trouble I was having. It has been awesome! BUT...it keeps me having mild hormonal acne. Not bad...but one little bump somewhere, all the time. Ididn't even deal with this in High School!!!! So...I have used EVERY cleanser known around here. The crazy thing is , I am back to Cetaphil or Neutrogena and my skin feels soooo much better. Just curious if this is just me and my skin is weird, or do ya'll find that trusted stuff from 100 years ago works for you too!!?? Also, mineral makeup is a must!! Definitely can't do any liquid type of make up. Okay, that's the girlie poll for today!!!

the kids are watching Toy Story again today....geez that is hilarious:lmao::rotfl: I would LOOOOVE for them to bring it back to the big screen one more time!! That has to be the funniest movie ever!!!! Of course, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are 2 of the funniest guys in tv history!!

Sadly, I have sensitive skin, so Im not too useful. I like Cetaphil. It's the first cleanser I've had that hasn't made things worse! (Of course, I was diagnosed with rosacea a few years ago, which explains all)

Oh, good (health) news from me for once - I think the knee surgery worked!! Yesterday, I was pain free for the first time since probably February! Of course, that lasted until DH decided we had to paint 1" trim around ALL the windows, rehang blinds, and rehang curtains last night. (We got a house full of new windows - they're really nice, so far) Ow ow and ow, but my PT says that is perfectly normal and my pain level is where it should be.

Why must recovery be so slow?

And today, I get the crown on the tooth that was root canalled the week I had knee surgery. So hopefully everything will be lovely after tonight there, too!

My friend is starting to get very excited about our Disney trip. No fewer than 2x per day, she's IMing me links to the DIS about travel this fall. I'm happy that she's excited - it's better than my "whatever" husband! But I guess maybe now we didn't have to rush and go in September, if my knee is going to behave...

...but better an early Disney trip than no Disney trip! ;)

Sarah! That's awesome!!!! I am praying that knee heals up and you have a pain free time form here on out!!!!! Mike had a root canal awhile back...this guy was supposed to be awesome....well, he said he really acted strange, and then he hit something and blew out a piece of Mikes tooth!!! So.. he was in severe pain that night, and he has the biggest Pain Tolerance level i have ever seen. Anyway,, got crowned and he's good....then a few months back, we see on the news that this same dental surgeon was arrested for drugs!!!!! So, maybe he was on something when he did Mikes tooth!!!!!! Who Knew?
I too have sensitive skin, which I passed to my oldest son. We can only use certain detergent or we get hives!!!!!:scared1: AAhhh, the life of a sensitive person:lmao:

Honestly I need to get back to taking better care of my skin (especially at my age). This last year has been really stressful at our house, and I haven't been sleeping really well. The last thing on my mind has been my skin, and I've just been washing my face with soap when in the shower. Unfortunatley you can tell and I'm getting black heads on my nose and chin, and my pores are getting big. My sister gave me some stuff because she has sensitive skin and after she bought it, found she can't use it. It was 3 tubes of Clinique. Now I just need to stop forgetting that I have it and actually use it.

Sadly, I have sensitive skin, so Im not too useful. I like Cetaphil. It's the first cleanser I've had that hasn't made things worse! (Of course, I was diagnosed with rosacea a few years ago, which explains all)

We'll keep you in our prayers that the knee recovery goes quicker and that everything goes well at the dentist.

It's great that your friend is so excited about your trip. I would love to be able to go with my DH's family and take my nephew for his first trip. I just don't see it happening right now. I thought about down grading our hotel so we could pay for him to go. The problem is that would mean we would be a family of 5 instead of a family of 4. My DH doesn't want to do it b/c there would always be "an odd man out". Who knows maybe I can convince them between now and our trip to come with.

ok, I thought I would ask this question here, before I asked it on the boards at large and possible set myself up for flamming. I have been doing some Disney math and trying to see if this would work out cheaper for us. I know that sometimes AP holders get some really good deals on packages and/or resorts. I was wondering if it would be worth it for one of us (probably me) to get an AP and then hope they have a good AP only discount for next November. Anyone ever had AP's before? Anyone think it would be worth it? Do they typically have AP discounts during everytime of the year? Honestly at this point if we could get a really good AP discount (if I get one) we would move the trip back to December, or anytime between October to December that a good discount was available for.

I know you already made your decision, but I did the same thing this past year. Now...unfortunately... well not really, but kinda... they just released the AP discount for the rest of the year. $54/night at a Value!!! It's just about what I thought it would be, but that doesn't make it easier. I'm so tempted to go ahead and book a room-only...I would go for a Mod, but we would have to pay extra for a King Size bed...and of course the rates for AKL and WL are brilliant (starting at $139/night...I'm going to attempt to control myself though...)
I'll have to really think about it though...:rolleyes1

totally OT :offtopic: What is your favorite facial cleanser? I am a shiny (oily) girl!

I can't really help you...though I've been breaking out a little lately, (I think it's from all the sweating at Disney) I usually don't. I've tried to maintain a skin care regiment for a long time, but it's really hard because I feel like I'm not fighting anything. I have both Aveeno and Neutrogena at home now. Personally I like Neutrogena, because the accompanying moisturizer is very light and refreshing.

Oh, good (health) news from me for once - I think the knee surgery worked!! Yesterday, I was pain free for the first time since probably February! I'm glad the pain subsided!

In other news... Logan got a job offer today. He put in a single application on Friday, and had job interviews today for two different positions! I've put in several applications in the past few months and have only gotten one interview. (I didn't get the job:headache:) I guess it's good that he's more marketable than I am.
This way we don't have to worry as much about the military dragging their feet. If they give him orders in September that say we're stuck here for another year, then at least he'll have a job in the mean time, and I can be less stressed about me not having one.

Hello Snowbirds,

We've been a busy family, and I have to admit not have concrete travel plans has me very stressed, so I haven't been posting.
Anyhow today I got another pin code for free dining after Oct 3! How great is that! It came via email!
I also received all my "new" disney books from my online shopping. The Hidden magic book is really great as well the Complete Walt Disney world has information in it I did not know!I love all things disney and reading the different travel guides is something I enjoy.

DD had her ultrasound today, she did well, she was nervous but in the end she thought it was cool Hopefully we have the results soon. Keeping the possibility of a Jan trip is difficult. I have only told you snowbirdies! :goodvibes
I think i definitely need to do the math, DD is an october baby and going for her b-day would be special. Thinking about experiencing the world just me and my "baby" gets me teary eyed!

I hope everyone is doing well.

I saw a Question regarding skin - I too have shiny combo skin, I loved Biore cleanser, then they discontinued the specific one I used, so now I am on the hunt. I like my skin to feel clean after I wash with no moisturizer in the cleanser or residue. This is the hardest part, I find Cetaphil leaves a residue and Neutrogena dries my skin out. I haven't tried mineral makeup, but it sounds like I may like it!

Haha! And in our household, one of our CATS is also sensitive to scents. It's pretty funny that we use unscented EVERYTHING for me and for the cat (to avoid cat barf, it's worth it!).

Sadly, I only have a temp crown. I had no idea that I'd go from root canal/temp filling to temp crown to actual crown. Sheesh! Of course, I'll be out of town the week I'm supposed to get the real thing, so it'll have to wait. Not the end of the world, but I was told no hard foods nor chewy foods. Man, why couldn't I keep the temp filling?! At least then I could eat chewy (and, out of the blue, I'd bought some Now & Laters... I guess they'll just be Laters!).

Honestly I need to get back to taking better care of my skin (especially at my age). This last year has been really stressful at our house, and I haven't been sleeping really well. Now I just need to stop forgetting that I have it and actually use it.

Just be warned that sometimes Clinique washes are NOT gentle. Their soap is terrible! But then again, you didn't say you had sensitive skin.

We'll keep you in our prayers that the knee recovery goes quicker and that everything goes well at the dentist.

Thanks!! It's been a decent couple of days, knee-wise, which is encouraging.

We'll be making that kind of trip when our niece is old enough. It'll be good for DH, who has never seen Disney from the eyes of a kid. It'll be good for the parents to get a break... and hopefully, we'll have fun with our niece as well! But she's not even a year old yet, so we have awhile, though her mom is already merrily planning away!

I am very lucky to have a dear friend who is willing to make the trip with me! We went in 2007 and we were both a tad cautious. We'd never spent that much time one-on-one EVER (we met online, became friends online, but she did end up as a bridesmaid of mine). It worked out SUPER well, to our mutual delight. We started planning the next trip then!!

I'm glad the pain subsided!

Thanks!! It's kind of weird, almost, but I'm sure I'll get used to it! :yay:

Well, at least Logan is employed. Good luck on your job search! Living in Michigan, I understand how tough it can be these days!

Disney question: I ended up making an ADR for one of the HS restaurants for 7:15pm. The park closes at *7* that night. Is that even do-able or should I count on finding something else?

DD had her ultrasound today, she did well, she was nervous but in the end she thought it was cool Hopefully we have the results soon. Keeping the possibility of a Jan trip is difficult. I have only told you snowbirdies! :goodvibes

I'm glad your DD did so well with her ultrasound. Hopefully it will be the last one she has to have until she's an adult and it's to see if it's having a boy or girl.

Ick, I'm hoping all I have is an icky tummy and not food poinsoning. We woke up late and ate lunch at 3 PM. At about midnight every one was hungry again, so I went out for Taco Bell. Well Taco Bell was closed, so I went to Whataburger. Everyone but me got breakfast stuff and I got a bacon cheeseburger. We were watching Warehouse 13 on hulu.com so I wasn't paying attention to the burger. When I finally looked at it, I noticed the meat was mostly pink on the inside.

Well I've decided to go back to school. By decided I mean that my DH said I could either go back to school or get a job. I have it narrowed down to 3 things. Either computer programming, biomedical engineering (repair medical equipment), or nursing.

Sarah~ Yeah, I have one crown, and I had to do the temp thing...over my disney trip! I kept thinking..if this thing comes out......!!!! But it was fine...just DO NOT chew gum or taffy or anything like that!!:scared1: I too have to watch scents as far as perfume..room sprays, plug-ins..Migraine city!! The only candles that don't really make me nuts are Circle-E. AAAHHHH those are the best--well only a few I can do----but YUM!!! And perfume!!!! Holy moly....:scared1: I always want to stop people in public who wear tons of it and say"Just because you use 15 squirts instead of one, doesn't make you smell better, and now I have a sore throat and a migraine. Have a nice day!" so, I can only wear a few perfurmes too.
And yes, Clinique started out great for me,,, then all of a sudden--skin irritation!! I do like their mascara!!!! Cetaphil and Neutrogena are the only things I can use right now...gotta watch with that N., is does get drying.

Drakes~ Hope you dd is great and you can start planning ya'll a trip. YIPPEE for you to get a PIN, I have been waiting..:rolleyes1 Haven't gotten anything.

Wookie~ Hope you are ok!!! I have only had food poisoning once and I thought I was gonna end up in the ambulance!!!:laughing:Sickest I have ever been in my life. I always thought, how bad can it b? Well...it was bad. So, are you gonna do school? You can NOT let this cause you to miss Disney:lmao: I couldn't stand for you to postpone it again!!!! I think you better just hurry up and go, before you can't!!!

Afternoon everyone! Popping in to say hello  (I love that smilie- he's just so darn cute!)
DH and I decided last minute this morning to get away to the beach this weekend for some quality family time. :cool2::beach: DD has never seen the beach so I'm excited to see her reaction.

Shawna- your family is beautiful! I love putting a face to a screenname! :flower3:

Drakes- I'm glad your DD did well with her sonogram. I hope the results are all well and you decide when to plan your trip. October would be very special for your DD.

Thank you Kim!!! I know, I too like a face!! I think I saw you on FB..right? I just put the same pic of us on my FB page....I have some really cute ones of the kids from our last 2 disney trips that I just loaded onto my laptop. My old computer crashed right before our Jan trip, so all the older pics on there I lost. I have them in photo albums, but not on here, so I can do any of those. I will try to put up a few later...Photobucket is hard !! ha!!!!! Maybe soon!!
My friend that is now in Maryland went to the beach with their baby for the first time a couple of weeks ago.... I am really wanting to go out there and visit her. They are in the Navy, so she's close to the base...they are in Pasadena...is that somewhat close to you? Pictures are gorgeous from your state!!!!

I'm in the county in the very northeast corner of MD. I'm about 20 minutes to the PA and DE borders.

I don't think I have you on FB? Unless Shawna is just you DIS alias name:lmao: You can search me as Monny2AE and I should pop up.

You can see me and my family in my PTR- I'm working on updating it right now but Photobucket is giving me issues.:headache:

My sister says she was the same way with Clinique. It started out fine and then all of a sudden it started making her skin really red and irritated.

Thanks. I've deffinatley felt worse, but my tummy is killing me. I had an emergency gall bladder surgery about a month after I had John. Now that was bad. One morning my DH found me curled up in a ball in our bathroom floor banging my head against the floor trying to knock myself out to make the pain go away.
It's either me start school or he says I have to go to work for the school district as a bus monitor. Usually when he makes ultimadiums like that, I show him just where he can kiss my rear. However me going back to school makes sense. My DH was told a couple of years ago he needed to loose weight. If he didn't he would be dead before he reached 40, but he wouldn't know b/c he would have a widow maker of a heart attack and he would be dead before he hit the floor. He was told that he had to get either gastric bypass or lap band. He opted for the lap band b/c it was less invasive. Well the doctor made his "pouch" bigger than normal b/c he thought it would be easier for him to adjust to it. In about 3 years he went from 450-ish to the upper 300's, and most of that was lost in the first few months after the surgery. He doesn't get it filled and he stretched it out to where he can out eat me. Basically I'm worried that with his family health history he will die from a heart attack and then leave me with two boys to raise and no education. I know it's a bleak reason for going back to school, but at least if something does happen I will be able to support the boys.
Oh and the one rule I have about going back to school is that I get to go to Disney and I get the trip I want. Which includes the CR MK view room. I'll take the semester off we go so I don't have to worry about school. Devry isn't like normal colleges. The classes there only last 8 weeks, so the trip will only delay me 8 weeks.

I added you :goodvibes Don't even get me started on Photobucket- we are enemies today!!! I took forever to resize pics for my PTR and they are still huge! :headache::mad:

Before you upload your pics to photobucket, you can select how big you want them. That way, you don't have to edit each and every picture one at a time. I always select the large size and I think that's a good size.
