Just kidding, it will be a while for us until our next trip and I'm looking forward to living through all of your PTR's and TR's until then.

Meghan, my parents flew SW in Jan 09 and they used ME. I know they didn't have to get their own luggage at MCO on the way to WDW but I'll have to ask my mom if she remembers about the luggage when they were heading home.

Morning girls! It has finally stopped raining! Hallelujah~.....kinda weird outside..not too cloudy, but not bright at all. Are you northern girls STILL getting snow? Our schools locally start Spring Break next week...usually they are ALL at one time..only one large district around here pushed it back a week or two later..so, a ton of Texas kids will be hitting all the vacation hot spots. When do you get Spring Break?

I'm with you- I'mliving vicariously through everyone else and their PTR's and TR's. We probably won't be heading back to WDW until 2012.... That's okay, though, as I do have a 1-day trip to DL coming up...not the same, but I'll definately take 1 day at DL versus nothing at all!

And, we love flying SW especially for the no-bag fee (the nice thing about have a "younger" child, too, is that you can usually board before everyone else, regardless of the "cattle-call" style boarding). I'm 99% sure that they don't have the hotel check-in service for ME. You can still use ME to get you to the airport, you just need to go to a curb-side or ticket counter to check your bags once you get to the airport.

I re-read the ME thread over on the transportation boards. No matter what airline you fly, ME will pick up your luggage for your. With Southwest, they don't participate in the Resort Airline Check-In. However, they were doing some trials with the All Stars and Pop, but I don't know if that is still going on. I will have to look into that once we get our airfare all figured out.

Our Spring Break isn't until April 19th-23rd. We do get Good Friday off, but not the Monday after Easter like we usually do. We just had our mid-Winter break the week of President's Day. I hate that week off! When we first moved to Buffalo, all of the schools took 2 weeks off for Spring/Easter break. Then, they decided to break it up into 2 different weeks at 2 different times. That's what my schools in Syracuse used to do too. The winter break is so pointless because it's so crummy outside and all the kids just stay cooped up in the house.

We are having beautiful weather here. Well, for us at least! It's about 40 today and sunny! The snow is melting and I've gone walking the last two days during my lunch hour. But I'm afraid it won't last. We usually get a good snowstorm every March during high school tournament time! Our spring break is the week before Easter this year. It's later than usual. Most often it's been the middle of March. When I was a kid we got a week in February (ENERGY WEEK! Yup, that was the late 70s and 80s) Now it's spring break. It's too late for me. I like being able to take a vacation from winter when it's really bad here. As the kids get older, that gets harder to do. I don't feel the need to leave here so much when the end of winter is upon us. I have to break it up. That's why late Jan/early Feb was so great.

Now for our summer trip - I am TOTALLY doing the early mornings, and back to the hotel pool or AC for lunch etc. We are taking it easy! Well except for our crazy dining - but we're doing some 2TS so it won't be a lot of meals that we have to get to. I may do some tweaking of that schedule anyway. I have to take another look and make a chart! AFTER I finish my TR from the December trip!

Our University is on Winter Break this week. Due to poor planning at the public schools, the grade school kids were on break last week. I suspect there are a lot of kids, who have faculty parents, out of school this week!

We also got snow most days last week but we're over freezing this week. *waves a not-so-fond-farewell to the snow*

Like Sheree, we have had a string of warm days and it is causing our snow to melt quite rapidly! Unfortunately that won't be it for the snow! We usually get a big blast in mid march and then again in early april!

Our "March break" is the 15-19th of this month! We don't get a winter break OR a fall break! The kids get all the stat holidays, plus 1 week in March and 2 weeks at Christmas/New Years! We do school from Sept-June!

I think school's around here go for 180 days or something like that. Madison's school starts at 9am and gets out at 3:05pm....6 hours and 5 minutes. I don't know what the middle and high school hours are like for this district. My HS started at 7:55am and got out at 2:38pm. Weird, huh?

My boys are off the first two weeks of April. They get a lot of breaks throughout the year (a week in November, two weeks at Christmas, a week in February, two weeks at Easter, several miscellaneous days)...BUT the summer break is only two months, mid-June to mid-August. I actually like it this way, because by the end of a three-month summer break they are driving me crazy!

We go 180 days. I think all schools in the states do. . . Maybe not. . . A lot of other schools around here will have longer breaks (ex - a week for spring break rather than our 2 days). But then they only get about 2 1/2 months off in the summer. Our breaks are shorter but our summer is longer! I like it that way. I'd rather have the kids home in the summer when it is warm out rather than having weeks off in the middle of the winter when there really isn't a whole lot to do.

Our elementary hours are 8:10 - 2:25. So 2 hours 15 minutes I guess. Of course there is lunch and recess in there too! Not sure of the middle & high school hours. I'll find out soon enough though!

180 days! WOW, no wonder it seems as though our schools have so few breaks! We have 2 whole weeks more school than you guys! Hmm, that is interesting!

We have that same exact schedule .... its really a waste of time in February... but we sometimes take advantage of it like this year and go to Florida... I have found that I much prefer to go April/May or Oct/Nov..... Jan and Feb have been to cold... and Aug-Oct to hot.... although now that I think of it I think we did have a problem with the love bugs in May on time....

Thanks for saving us Kim! I go through spurts where I feel like DISsing all the time and then other times it makes my heartache for Disney and it's hard to be on here. I'm not even motivated to update my TR right now.
