Good morning, Snowbirds!

ONE MONTH from today I will be at Disneyland Paris!

Woohoo!!! Soon enough, you'll be doing the single digit dance!





Well, I saw a physician's assistant today. To my frustration, he ordered me back on crutches. he thinks I've been doing too much too quickly, so back on crutches, back to partial weight bearing... hopefully just for a week and hopefully the pain will go away. Got to see the new x-ray of my leg (wanted to be sure it wasn't broken) and the surgical site is getting more healed!

So I found out some interesting news tonight. We were at my brother in law's house for his birthday party. My father in law was like, "oh Kim, did David tell you that we are going to a training class for several days in July." I was like, "no where is it?" David shot my father in law a look that said "you better not tell her". Well my fil got a funny look on his face and said, "oh it's just in Orlando. Why in the world would Kim care about going there?". I looked at my hubby and told him that "it would be a cold day in h-e-double hockey sticks before he goes to Orlando without me." I'm going to talk to my mom and since it's the week of our 15th yr wedding anniversary, and see if she can watch the boys. My mil will more than likely be retired by then, and will more than likely go with my fil. I think I've found something I'm going to like about him working on appliances with his dad. The yearly training in Orlando and Las Vegas!!

Great news Snowbirds!!!! We are going back to WDW this fall!!!! I am beyond excited!!!! I do have a question. I plan on booking a room with the room only pin code I got a few weeks ago. Then, we free dining (hopefully) comes out, I will switch over my ressie. I can do that, right? I've never done it before, so I'm looking for some answers. In the rare case free dining isn't offered, we might hold off on the trip....will our $200 deposit be refunded? I know there is a penalty if you cancel after your 45 day mark, but I just want to be sure. Ok, time to do some planning!!!!

As long as you make any charges before your 45 day mark you won't incur any charges and will get your $200 back (or transferred to your new ressie). Make sure you check the prices. For us it is better to do free dining if we are staying at a value or moderate, but better to take the room discount if we are staying at a deluxe.

I am SO excited for you Meghan! If you are going to be staying a value, Free Dining is the way to go! Even at a mod, free dining is still a good deal! At a deluxe, your best option is the Room only discount and then add on your tickets etc.

As Shelly said, your deposit is fully refundable up to 45 days before your trip! I think you will be able to get Free Dining! IF you will be staying a value, you may have to pay to upgrade to the Reg DDP but it is still a great deal!

Please keep us up to date on the details so we can all live vicariously through you! I speak as one who has NO IDEA when my next trip to WDW will happen! Quite possible NOT for at least 2 more years!

OOOhhhh Meghan!!! Yeah for you!! What week are you going? I am planning for Nov if we go back this year too!!!! Def go for free dining if you are not doing Deluxe..you can switch it over then...45 days wont be an issue til around Sept anyway..you will know for sure what you are doing by then anyway!! I am hoping they do send me a good pin code...the only one I have ever gotten was the one you got for last summer...which of course, won't work out for me!! How fun!!! Hello Snowbirds! We were away all last week and I'm finally getting caught up on DISing. Had a great week in the Alps--DH and the boys skied for three days, and I joined them on their last day. I'm not a good skier but it was lots of fun. Both boys are now officially better than I am (which isn't saying a whole lot!) DD11 is dying to try snowboarding so we finally told him that next year he can take a lesson.

Hello Snowbirds... my DD Maggie was accepted into the Disney College Program today... she is very excited.... she will be arriving August 23rd and stays until January 9th.... I am going to drive down with her and fly back.... can't believe it....my DD working with the Mouse!!!

YIPPEE!!!!! How cool is that?!!!!

We plan on going from Sept 22-29. We plan on staying at Pop (we loved it in June!), so free dining is definately the better deal. I think the room only discount would only save about $200 at Pop. I want to make a ressie so I can make dining plans as soon as possible. I think 180 days is around March 26th...which is around the time free dining should be released. We don't mind paying the difference to upgrade to the DDP. It's really not too much more. I will be sure to keep everyone up to date and I will definately be doing a PTR and TR!

I second (third) what everyone else said. Free dining seems to be a better deal than room only if you stay value and maybe mod. We priced out the difference between the 40% off deluxe and free dining and at a deluxe, it was definitely better with the room deal.

Took Sarah to get her ears pierced today in anticipation of her golden birthday on the 9th! She was so excited. Brought a friend with her and it was great. She got these little pink flowers with a white center. Same as her friend had in today. So that was fun. Then we went to the zoo. That was fun too - it was a pretty nice day here, and most of the animals are inside for the winter.

It was BEAUTIFUL! Especially the views from the top of the mountains--I kept looking around and saying, I can't believe how beautiful it is. And you can take the gondola up to the top, get off to look around, and then take it back down if you're not skiing. We stayed near Garmisch, Germany, but also skied in Austria (just a few minutes away). Unfortunately the day we took most of our pictures it was pretty overcast, but I'll look and see what we have.

How fun for Sarah! I remember my sister (2 years older) begging my parents for years to let her get her ears pierced. First they said when she was 16, then 14, then finally 12. So she went on her twelfth birthday. When my turn rolled around, we happened to be at the mall the day before my birthday, and my mom let me get it done then--any my sister was SO MAD! I wasn't 12 yet! Fortunately she's over it now.

How fun!!! I took Madison to get her ears pierced almost 2 years ago (it was around the beginning of March in 2008...I'm pretty sure it was the day after Easter that year). I just happened to ask her our of the blue if she wanted to go get it done and she said yes! She had been saying no for so long and I couldn't believe she changed her mind. So, I literally took her to the mall that instant (I didn't want her to change her mind).

Right before they actually pierced her ears, a little girl and her mom got "in line" behind us. Well, once that little girl heard Madison scream her head off, they quickly exited the store! Madison was absolutely fine once I told her we could go get a cookie at Mrs. Field's (the best cookies on earth). I felt bad that the other little girl got scared away!

That would be pretty sad to miss each other by a day!

I have heard that the week before Thanksgiving is pretty slow too. We went the week prior to that and we were very happy with the crowds - or lack thereof! That's the week my kids have half days at school because of conferences, so it makes sense for us to go that week since they will miss a little less school.

AirTran just released November rates this morning. It looks like I will have some good flight times to choose from, but they are too high right now. Hoping they will go down! I will be watching them everyday. Wasn't quite ready for the airfare game just yet.
