~Snowbird Chat 2~

Kim~ I know y'all are so sick of the winter!! We have only had short spurts of the freezing cold~ I think it's coming back tonight and the next couple of days..of course, we have no snow…just the dang icy wind that slices right through you… If it's going to be that cold, I wish we had the snow to show for it!

I am totally over the freezing cold. I don't mind the snow, but the negative temps are no fun. I feel like I have been trapped in my house since mid December! We are low on everything right now, but I have no desire to go grocery shopping. I hate bringing Cole out in this weather.

I am hoping that today is the day I will hear if I got into an Agent Education Program. It's on the reimagined Disney Magic and it has been 11 days since I registered. I am dying to go on the new Magic! Especially after I watched the special on Destination America this past Saturday. I was torn between the DCL and DLR program, but a few other agents from my agency also registered for DCL. I have no patience left!!!!

Oh the sickness!!!! Will it ever end? Just got back from the pediatrician with Chase. First he had an upper respiratory thing going on and that collided with stomach bug. Seriously, all this week for him. I was worried that it was something worse. Now, if only we can keep Rylan healthy. Stomach flu + Type 1 Diabetes = one freaked out mama.

Only 76 days for me :) So ready to get out of the frozen climate.

Ladies~ I am asking prayer for friends~ I have several of y'all on my FB page, but we have mutual friends and I don't want their private business going all over FB without them being aware, so I thought this would be best at this point. Baby R was born in Oct (will be 3 Months old soon)..has had problems eating more than 2 ounces,, thought it was Reflux and was on meds for that but still crying when eating and stays asleep all the time.. Just can't seem to wake up and stay awake~ we first attributed it to his being born a little early. Her pedi here wasn't concerned~over the weekend he was transported from the local ER by Ambulance to the Texas Childrens hospital..his BP when they arrived was an unbelievable 200/115!!!!!! He has been seen by every specialist you can imagine from Genetic to Cancer and those in between&the idea right now is a Renal problem since your kidneys control BP &also, he may have something where all his blood vessels throughout his body are bad, or not what they should be. They even thought a tumor at first~if the scans and ultrasounds, and tests at this point don't come back clear enough they are considering an Angio on him!!! And he is sooo tiny to deal with all this!!!! right now main focus is stabilizing pulse and BP&Please pray for God's healing and peace and wisdom for his mom and dad&. I am heart broken for them~ At this point all we can do is pray&which is Ultimately all God asks us to do and the Best thing we have to offer. If any of you have prayer chains at your church could you please add them? I know y'all are great about lifting each of us up in prayer as we need it! Thanks and I will update as we find out anything...

Perhaps some thick soled tennis shoes may help with that last 1 1/2 inches... :rolleyes1

Perhaps...that's kind of what we did in April, when he was barely at 36 inches, for some stuff at Universal. Poor baby kind of hated it though, because it was difficult to keep him in his seat due to the shared lap bar on Flight of the Hippogriff. The Barnstormer was better, but that may have been because I was better prepared.
The 40 inch transition will probably be better, but I'm not sure I'll push it. Mostly, it's a nice to have a goal.
Really, the thing I'm most excited about for him is the Jedi Training Academy, which he'll be old enough for by our next trip regardless. Since March (baby due) and April (2 sibling weddings) are pretty much shot and Logan starts his training the first week of May, the earliest I could plan anything is October.

Poor baby! I hope they figure everything out.

my friend told my husband yesterday that the Drs at Houston are kind of stumped and even told her that they really haven't seen this and aren't sure what all to do for him! Talk was even brought up about a possible kidney transplant in the future&Just pray for them when you think about it, I appreciate it more than I can say.

Oh, Shawna I'm praying for Baby R! The not knowing must be so so terrifying for the family! I cannot imagine how difficult it is. Praying for God's healing hand to touch him and guide the doctors to a solution.

Hoping your move goes smoothly too.

Still checking on DL park hours to plan for our trip. The good news is, DH thinks we'll get 5 day hoppers instead of 4 day, so we can catch any nighttime shows that first night so we don't miss any (they might not show them all each night we're there). YAY! Trying to decide where we want to go visit the beach - thinking Malibu even though it's a bit of a drive. We're already going to see the Hollywood sign and maybe the stars Walk of Fame or whatever it's called. It's sort of that direction anyway.

Thank you Kim! They need it!! He has shown some improvement and looks a lot better…they still have a very very long road ahead and still waiting on answers.. I will let y'all know when I hear something.

We are officially moved into the new house~closed on the old one Monday, then had Tues & Wed off for weather…so we got a lot done. Kids are sick of working and moving stuff I can promise you!:rotfl: I think the boys were relieved to go to school!!! I got rid of quite a lot of stuff before, but I have lots more to sell! As I go through stuff, we are really trying to consider if we need it or not..most of it is NOT if I have to ask them!

My Disney planning bug is really starting to make me itch.
I'd really love it if I could plan a trip for this year sometime between October and December (before that just isn't possible) or January/February next year, but we likely won't know what Logan's schedule will allow until October.
It's possible that he won't actually be free until April again, and since I like to avoid the warmer months, it may put the trip in fall of 2015. Also, since in his 4 1/2 years of active duty military service (will be 6 years by the time we're done here) he has never deployed, he's probably going to be first on their list to do so.
I suppose I may have to consign myself to April again, unless I want to do the summer, or possibly have to wait 3 years from now before our next trip.
I can't imagine not taking this baby to Disney until she's almost 3 years old!

Hi, everyone! Long time no post here, life got in the way (although I do still lurk and read).

Shawna - I'm thinking of Baby R :) *fingers crossed*

I had a bit of a fright last week while driving my charges home from school last Friday. A man ran a red light and ran right into me. My car is totalled. The boys are fine and thought the entire thing was hilarious. I ended up with a few scratches and bruises, a dented muscle on my thumb, post crash whiplash and internal bruising, but other wise I am completely fine. I am still a bit shaken, but incredibly lucky. The firemen said that if he'd hit about an inch or two closer to me, I'd be paralyzed or dead. Funny how things work.

How is everyone?

Becca~ I think I might see a solo or short trip in your near future!:thumbsup2

Shakey~ Glad you are ok…God definitely protected y'all from a possible disaster.

I don't think Logan would be very happy with me going to Disney without him, especially if I took the kids.

I guess I just need to be patient and see what happens.
I'm also going to have to start considering G's school schedule, since he'll start kindergarten Fall 2015.
