Hi Shawna

Hoping you will be getting your own Magic Bands soon!! :wizard:

Happy Friday!!!!!

It's been a long week and I am counting down the hours until my weekend begins! I have no plans this weekend other than relaxing! :goodvibes

We're all moved.....except for the unpacking. We found a house that's very similar to the one we had near Fort Riley, but we have a basement and fence this time. Technically, the plot is 2.5 acres, and Logan loves the country feel. He's also convinced that it means we need a dog.:confused3

The other night I had a Disney dream. Two different people asked me questions about going on trips. A friend just ran in the marathon and another took her kids to Disneyland for her oldest's birthday.
We won't have a grasp on Logan's schedule for this year until at least May. The earliest we'd be able to do is October, and we may not know if it's a possibility until then.
Logan's brother is probably going to set his wedding date for some point within the next year too, so we'll have to spend some leave time on that. Too bad they're not Disney lovers, because it'd be awesome to go to a Disney wedding.

I'll be a bit sad if I can't take my baby girl to Disney at all during her first year.

Hey girls!! It's been quiet for a while here!! Kim..enjoy your weekend, Shelly your trip is almost here!!!!!!! Becca~Hopefully you can take the family back soon.. I know its hard when you can't plan.
We are moving in the next week… I am actually starting tomorrow with stuff that's already boxed.. having a moving sale this weekend~typically I don't do that, but we had lots of big items that needed to go~we have no room for them in the new place. Kids are looking forward to a 3 day weekend~as I am sure all of yours are too(if your school takes Monday, I know some districts don't).
I am trying to think of something special for Mike & I to do to celebrate our next anniv. April will be 20 years!!!!! The weekend before our anniv is dd's 11 bday so we can't go that weekend and the weekend after is Easter… so, the one in the middle is perfect……except that it's DS18's Senior Prom. He had said he wasn't going which was fine, but now he thinks he might…AAARRRGGGHHH.. so, we may have to do the last weekend of April, first one in May, which is hubby's birthday.
We are trying to think of something different, but at this point we keep going back to Wilderness Lodge. I would love that, except the days we are looking at the Crowd Calendar has at 7-10s depending on what you use.:crazy2: I don't care for that!! But, it would be just a getaway and not so much park days…would love to eat in EPCOT and can just stroll, but I might want to do a MK day…we haven't had 15 minutes this last 2 weeks to just sit down and discuss it…so maybe sometime this weekend we can talk while we box or pack stuff.
Outside of Disney, what do y'all suggest for a 20 year anniv?

Hello ladies!

8 DAYS until Disney!!! :cool1: So looking forward to some warmth and fun! :goodvibes

Happy weekend Kim!! :woohoo:

Your new place sounds awesome Becca. Hopefully you can get to Disney soon! :wizard:

Shawna -- congrats on the new house!! :) I don't know what to tell you to do for your 20th, but you definitely need to do something!! ::yes:: Good luck deciding!

Shelly~ I am so stuck!! If we don't do Disney, I am at a loss:lmao: I don't mind going somewhere else, but I know that at the WL we can relax and I know what all there is and how far point A is from point B…..everywhere else is definitely new and exciting, but I think it could get too busy. I have thought about NYC…have a couple of friends that just went for anniversaries, so I am going to pester them with questions this week! I will let you know what we decide!

Hi everyone!
I've been so looking forward to this long weekend!! It seemed to take forever to get here! My DIS time is so limited lately. I really did want to do a TR for our Alaska cruise, but in reality, it ain't gonna happen. I might be able to do a summary report with a few key pictures. Maybe.

I've finally gotten going on planning our DL trip. Do you know that they haven't even release the March calendar for park hours yet???? They only do it about 6 weeks in advance! Crazy! I think we're only going to do two sit down meals that would need reservations, but I don't know what days to do what. Who'd have thought it would be that hard, with only 2 parks?
We arrive on Friday - plan to just check out DTD and the resorts.
Saturday - Have to start with Disneyland park
Sunday - probably go do "Hollywood" sightseeing (less traffic) and maybe see a beach if the weather is nice. Maybe hit a park if we get back early enough.
Monday - Hopefully California Adventure - but I have to confirm which park has early entry each day.
Then on Tuesday we'll do whatever parks we want - we will have hoppers (since you can walk back and forth!)
We leave to go back to Vegas on Wednesday - no rush to leave so that might be a good day for our character breakfast at Storyteller's Cafe.
Then we have two nights in Vegas and will go to Hoover Dam one day and I'd like to surprise the kids with a dinner at Buddy Valastro (cake boss)'s restaurant too.

Doesn't that seem short?
I found some Disneyland merchandise 50% off on the website, so bought a couple souvenirs in advance - got each of the girls a hooded sweatshirt (they are already wearing them!) and got a 2014 Disneyland ornament! Saved me $$!

Okay - got to go catch up on all my threads and my :laundy:

Happy Saturday, Snowbirds! Chilly day here in PA. Spent the day trying to will the sickness away. My little guy is a tad under the weather.

Looking ahead to my trip. Feeling awful for my super awesome travel agent. I keep making changes. I'm upgrading to the Wilderness Lodge from POR.

Where are you staying?
Disneyland makes me feel really curious.

I think we'll probably end up at the Wilderness Lodge next time, but it depends on if we invite another adult along. 3 adults in one hotel room is a tight squeeze, even if it's an allowed occupancy.
I showed G pictures of the Cars Suites at AoA and of course they're his favorite.

I measured him the other day and he's 38 1/2 inches, so I'm making a rule that if we don't go before then, we'll plan a trip once he hits 40 inches.

Now we may end up having two sibling weddings in April. My brother's has been planned for April 4th since June, and Logan's brother is trying to plan his for some time this year. His Dad called and told him that they found a place and scheduled it for August 8th, which is a Friday. While Logan's in training he may not be able to take time off for anything other than an emergency, so unless it's not until 10pm, we wouldn't be able to make it in time, and he told his brother as much. I guess now they're trying to change it to April 18th.
They are planning it in Eureka Springs, AK which is significantly closer to us than both Wichita (his family) and Oklahoma City (her family) so that's nice.

We are staying at the Grand Californian Villas - we booked a studio with our DVC points (LOVE that DVC!). I am really excited because everything is RIGHT THERE - within walking distance. I barely remember going to DL when I was in high school, and certainly don't know where anything was. I know the GC was not even there then, and they only had the one park. Vague memories of riding space mountain (haven't done it since) and mater horn.

I think I'll have a hard time deciding where to stay if we ever make it to Disneyland. I guess it depends on how long we end up staying.

Don't be silly!!! It's all good!! :goodvibes Congrats on your upgrade. :cool1: I'll be at the WL in just 4 days!

Hope your little guy is feeling better. :)

Shelly~ which view did y'all opt for? I know you said and I forgot! We are really leaning to going back in April for our 20th!! We will either do Courtyard view, or Standard if we go CL… I am in the middle of our move, so I can't really do anything or focus on it yet~you know how it is when you move!! But, I asked him over the weekend where he was leaning~ I threw NYC and Cali out there last week~~ he said I really thing the WL is what I want to do…so, I guess I will be planning it soon!!!! I really do love it over there for a more laid back quiet stay~I was tossing it up with either here or the Poly,…but the WL really did steal our hearts last year… I can't wait to see what you think about it…

We just went with standard view. Wanted to keep the trip as inexpensive as possible since we will be going back in August for a longer trip. So, I'm very nervous about standard view at WL!! :scared:

How's the move going?

well,..it was rocking along pretty good~but yesterday afternoon and today the painters have been over there doing touch-ups on paint so I can't do anything!! I have been in and out doing normal everyday stuff today and it's killing me because I can't take stuff over there!!!
tomorrow I have Cable and internet guys coming so hopefully the painters will be gone and I can put stuff in the kitchen cabinets while I wait…
I think Standard view is usually ok over there~ most view are really all woodsy anyway… I wouldn't care if I faced the parking lot either! LOL..it's all green and shrubbery!

Dear Mickey- Please come rescue me from this frozen tundra and take me to Florida!!!! pixiedust:

It's cold and snowy here! I'm so over winter and wishing I was a Snowbird this January! :cold:

Can't wait to hear how you like DL compared to WDW! My type A planning brain cringed when I read they don't come out with park hours until 6 weeks out! :crazy2:

Perhaps some thick soled tennis shoes may help with that last 1 1/2 inches... :rolleyes1
