~Snowbird Chat 2~

Yes!! Tell me that!! LOL!! DD is selling some of her dolls and toys she doesn't play with anymore~she bought a new cameral and got it on sale!! She was sooo excited~she's been saving for a while. I am trying to get DS14 to part with some LEGOs!!! If he does, you are first on my list! Of course, he is super attached to those darn things…and I don't know why~must be a boy thing…DD will sell just about anything for cold hard cash!

 That is funny about your DD!! I do the same thing, as soon as I am done with something - it's for sale!! :thumbsup2

YES!! Let me know if you have any Lego's for sale! ::yes::

Me too!!! I am NOT emotionally connected to much of anything…well, my kids & hubs of course:rotfl: My mother is super attached to 'things' and when we were growing up she never got rid of stuff…maybe that's why I use things, love them and then pass them on!! Hubs has a hard time letting stuff go for a guy~I guess our middle dude is gonna be like him…me,dd and DS17 can pretty much part with anything.
And hey~We need to have Jodi move over here and entertain us….popcorn::

Hi guys! been a while since I've posted. It seems like I barely can read the TRs that I subscribed to and comment about once a week.

Shawna - congrats on only having 6 (?) I think days left! I just talked to a friend who's hoping to go next November. Hope the weather turns good for you.

I'm ready to sell stuff too! We have been helping my SIL pack up her house to move and it is just CRAZY :scared: how much stuff they have. They are downsizing but still have so much stuff. Makes me want to get rid of everything! Or never move.

Tomorrow DH and I have the day off for Veteran's Day (Government work!) and the kids have school. So we will try to do a little Christmas shopping and go to lunch. So I've been lazy this afternoon after getting some chores done yesterday. Lots of reading time! :goodvibes

Hey Sheree…yep!! 6 days today!! I am working on my lists today!! Have a lot going on…I think I have a cabinet purged out completely, yet when I go back, I still see stuff!! The junk just multiplies!!!

Hey girls!!! I have ONE day left!!!! I am about 75% packed… I have most of my stuff packed, the kids are packed, I just have to have DH repack…he has been out of town since Monday~so when he gets here in a little while, I have to start washing his stuff… Toiletries and snacks and all that little stuff was shipped on Monday.
Tree and decor was put up on Sat so I won't have to deal with any of that while I am gone!! My mom is house sitting so I don't have to close up the house or board the dog…
will print boarding passes tonight…Had the car washed yesterday will change the oil and get gas today.
Lots of little things that are always left until the last minute will get taken care of today…I have as much done ahead of time as possible…I need to run to a couple of stores in town, but of course, they don't open til 10! YIKES!! A girl needs some of these to open at 8! LOL… Ok..y'all hold the fort down and think about us! I keep checking the weather for temps~ high 70s-80s,..so pretty much what we had here until last week. But, each sight shows different chances of rain…one has Sat and Mon, one has sAt , mon and Thurs… who knows. I usually do the Christmas party on Thursday if we do it~but I won't if it's raining…so I hope it clears out!!!

Hey Becca!! yes, you did tell us!!! How are you feeling? whens the due date?!!

March 4th. I'm ok. Heartburn is a serious problem this time, and I can't seem to figure out what to do to keep it at bay. DH took me to the ER on Monday, because I was really faint and dizzy. It turned out my blood sugar was low, because I didn't eat enough. Blech...I eat normally and I get heartburn....I eat small meals and my blood sugar drops We're doing the anatomy ultrasound today, so hopefully everything with the baby is great, and we'll find out the sex.
Logan really wants a girl, and I'm leaning in that direction too. They've had the cutest little Disney themed onesies out for girls lately!

Hey Shawna - I will keep your family in my prayers - so many tough decisions! I'm sure it's tough, but you will know what is right!

Yeah - prices are getting worse for the whole travel business! Flights are ridiculous to everywhere!

CONGRATS on the pregnancy!! I kind of remember hearing that, but I've been off the DIS more than I'd like lately.

Travel prices ARE awful. I was thrilled that all of a sudden Allegiant Air started doing a flight nonstop from Manhattan, KS to Mesa, AZ. It's not the fanciest airline. They don't even do complimentary beverage service, but it was awesome for a 24 week pregnant woman and her 3 year old to get to travel between two dinky airports and not have a layover. It kind of makes me want to stay at Fort Riley longer, so I can go visit my Nana more frequently.
She's doing really awful right now. She finished treatment for cancer, but her Parkinson's is getting worse. I'm happy I got the opportunity to go see her now. Once the baby is born, I don't expect I'll be traveling much for a while.

Me too!!! I am NOT emotionally connected to much of anything…well, my kids & hubs of course:rotfl: My mother is super attached to 'things' and when we were growing up she never got rid of stuff…maybe that's why I use things, love them and then pass them on!! Logan and I were talking about Christmas presents for G, and he suggested Lincoln Logs. I looked on Amazon and Ebay to get an idea about the cost. Then he told me that his parents have a GIANT bin of them still from when he and his brothers were growing up. I told him to ask his Mom if we could have them, and he said she probably wouldn't let them go. I understand grandparents wanting to have some toys for the grandkids to play with when they come visit, but she's never brought out the Lincoln Logs.
It baffles me that anyone would keep stuff like that around for that long. His youngest brother is 20, so it's probably been a good 10 years since anyone has played with them.
I'm having a hard enough time keeping most of the toys G doesn't play with anymore and he's only 3 and we have another baby on the way.

I'll probably keep a few items for sentimental reasons, but I hate storing stuff.

I talked to Shawna yesterday and they are having a great time!! Great weather and low crowds! :cool1:

I'm so glad to hear that! :thumbsup2
We are considering a Thanksgiving week trip next year. I imagine the crowds will be bigger the week OF Thanksgiving, but I want to see the Christmas decorations again!

Hey Friends!!!!:good vibes
We are back! Came home Saturday night..Church Sunday morning and lunch with friends, then a much needed nap. today was a whirlwind and it was some nasty weather. It has poured all day, it's dark and windy and we never hit 40* I don't think..my mom is 3 hours north and it sleeted most of the day…frisco/dallas had snow flurries yesterday and freezing rain today…we should have less rain tomorrow, still no sun and the low is around 28 tomorrow night. Very cold for us for Thanksgiving week. Tday is suppose to be sunny and clear, but we will only be 60* I think.
We had a fantastic trip!! We started at the YC and I was super excited about it,but Mike really loves the BC so we switched over. I love both sides, so it doesn't matter to me.Weather was perfect~Thursday we usually do the Christmas Party if we decide to do it, but I knew we had rain chances so we did it on Sunday. Good thing too because Thurs was when it hit! It wasn't terrible and awful, but it was steady …we got the ole Mickey Ponchos and took off to EPCOT for our Nine Dragons dinner! then right back to the room! LOL!! I was sorry for all the people who did the MVMCP though~ I know lots of stuff gets cancelled in the wet! We ate at Beaches & Cream, Biergarten in Germany, Rose & Crown in the UK, Nine Dragons in China, Be Our Guest, and Tonys, & the 50s Prime Time in Hollywood. They were all fantastic!! BOG is a must do if you can get in~ I will have to think back and look on the menu to make sure and tell y'all what we ordered…but it was all good!! And we did try the Grey Stuff for dessert!!!!
I can't believe it has already ended… I could just stay there always! But, it's good to be home! We missed DS17~my momma came and stayed with him that week…he enjoys having some time being independent! The boys had school today and will go tomorrow, then they are out…we are going to an awesome Thanksgiving Dinner with some friends on Thursday~ we did it last year and it was awesome~ we want to make it a tradition!! I am looking forward to hanging out with my friend and neither of us having to cook a thing! LOL!!!
I think I am taking the kids to see Frozen on Wed. And the 13th is the next Hobbit movie, then the 20th is Saving Mr Banks:yay::yay::yay:
Wed is my moms bday! and next wed my first little baby boy turns 18. I cannot believe it! I am so proud of him~he is a great kid and very mature and responsible for his age. I just wish we lived in a time where I could feel more confident of the world around him~there are so many evil people and crazy things happening all the time! we just have to pray for them every day and trust God to take care of them! He definitely has Senior-itis! I remember it well & that it escalated after the Christmas break! lol
Sheree~the crowds were definitely on the increase by Saturday!! I have family that went today…they went this same week last year too~ It's a lot more people than what I dealt with last week, but not as bad as Christmas!!!

Welcome back Shawna! I'm a little late, but I only seem to get on the boards about once a week these days! So glad you had a good trip! I really want to get back there around this time of year for all the Christmas stuff. I wish it was easier and cheaper! We'll see!

I got some Christmas decorating done yesterday, will do more today. Next Sunday I'm hosting an open house for holiday shopping with some direct sales people (I do Pampered Chef). So the place has to be cleaned and decorated! I have to wait until after to put up the Disney tree though, that's the real one and there wouldn't be enough space once I put that up!

I hope all you Snowbirds had a good Thanksgiving! We did - lots of food and laughter at my parents' house.

Hey Sheree~
I am glad you had a good time with family!! Hope everyone had a great & safe holiday..I know Shelly and her family were headed to family's and depending on the weather cooperating! I know it's cold for all of you in the northern states~it's been super cold for us! We have had several nights of hard freezes and the days aren't warming up too much~ we are suppose to be mid 60s today, low 70s next week for highs. And then back to cooler again~no wonder our sinuses are all crazy!!

I'm glad your trip went well Shawna!

I had my ultrasound, and the baby looks like a girl!
I've gone a little crazy buying clothes for her, but everything has been so cheap the last few weeks.
I'm exercising a lot of control to keep from buying all the adorable Disney themed onesies they have out right now. I think I'll wait until I know we have a trip planned.

I figured out the other day that Logan's course only goes until October next year. He's planning on working on his masters after that, so I'm not sure what his schedule will look like, but I'm really leaning towards a Halloween trip next year. If he can't get away at all while he's in school, then it will likely be Fall of 2015 before we can get back, because we're not particularly fond of Disney in the summertime, and didn't love April last time.
Maybe we'll just have to suck it up and go for Star Wars Weekends. G and Logan would both be completely in their element.
