~Snowbird Chat 2~

Yay!!! I plan on running the Disney Princess 1/2 marathon in February. Registration opens up a week from today!!!! :scared1: My mom ran it last year (did the Galloway run/walk program) and I can't wait to run it together!

My agency is trying to put together a group rate for Marathon weekend. I hope to hang up a flyer at my local running store to generate some more business. Its' been a little slow around here lately!
Wow - what is it with all you people running? Good for you! No way can I do that, nor does it appeal to me, but you go girl!

Way to go on the Marathon Meghan!!! I am impressed and will be rooting for you here in Texas!!!!
Ok girls, we got our ressies changed over from BC to WL last week. We wanted CL and they kept saying no availability but to keep calling and checking back. Called back today and BINGO!! We got it!!!! We are sooo excited!! Now to wait ever.so.patiently. Till August and see what discounts/codes/pins come up.

Yay! You've stayed there before, or no? It's on my list to stay at someday - maybe at Christmas time some year...It's so pretty all decorated.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!

I swore that I would never start running, but after listening to my mom talk about her Princess 1/2 marathon experience I just had to do it! I've done one 5K and my next one is Monday night! This whole running thing started with my older sister. She started running thanks to her in-laws who have been marathon runners for years. Then, my dad and BIL joined in. Next, it was my little sister and then my mom. As you all know, I've danced my whole life. I enjoyed 5 amazing years on a professional dance team. It was a wonderful experience, but now it's over and I needed to find something else to do for "me time". Teaching dance is definately not the same as being a dancer, so I turned to running. Crazy!!!

Happy 4th of July!

So I was just chatting on the phone with my friend who actually introduced me to the DIS, but is not a DISer. We were talking about my DLP trip and then I was telling her about our next three planned vacations!
She said her DH says, "we've done Disney" and wants to go to other places. :scared1: They have been twice with their kids, but she wants more and her DH is ready to do other things. Haven't heard what those might be yet though...

She was so jealous when I said we were going to F&W! I invited her to join us on the Alaska cruise, but I don't see that happening - they start school and such earlier and we don't go until later in August.
I was starting to feel bad for her.
Her daughter is my goddaughter and is only a few months younger than Sarah. Hopefully they can come visit (she's from MN) soon and we girls can hit the Mall of America and have lunch at the American Girl store bistro. She really wants to do that. We have to do it before they outgrow the AG stuff!

I hope someday she and I can do a girls' trip for F&W! She actually drinks wine and like me, is an adventurous eater, so we would have a blast. My DH, does not drink, and is not an adventurous eater, so it's a good thing that the portions are small - I'll be eating most of them! Although Sarah said she wants to try something new at each place! It might just be a bite, or just the desserts!! HA!

Well, DH just got back with lunch! He got takeout chinese food - (we had BOGO coupons). Great All-American holiday food, huh?

Hope everyone had a great 4th! I actually ended up with a rotten headache...not sure if it was from the heat or what,...but this evening I spent laying n bed watching tv and Mike took the kids to do fireworks. We had a thing for families at church earlier,,,but it was from 3-7 and I couldn't stand the heat anymore! so, me and ds13 hit the road! LOL!! for all of you who went to :beach: today, I hope you had a great time!!!!

Hi friends! Stopping in to say 'hello'.

I am so jealous of all the cruise talk. I am dying for an adults only trip and I love to cruise.

My grandmother has been talking about a big family Disney trip next summer, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. We would be going in July, G wouldn't be along to help and I'll have Belle, a two year old and an 8 month old.

Oh, and PS- We've got another little princess: coming in September. She was a suprise!!!:goodvibes

Congrats! So happy for you:)

We did July last summer with a 10 month old. Really, things just move at a different pace. My brother and his wife took advantage of the baby care centers that Disney provides. They're cool, relatively quiet, and have A/C. They have privacy for families who want to nurse or babies who want to nap.

(I'll still never go again in July! but it's not impossible, if YOU have enough help!!)

We went to Disney with Evie this year when she was 9 or 10 months old. She was only sick once her entire first year... and of course it was while we were there. Gregg ended up staying in the resort nursing her back to health while I took Belle to the parks. Other than that, she just tagged along everywhere. I think it's probably much easier before they can walk.

I never ended up using the baby care center because the weather was so nice and we only stayed in the parks for a few hours at a time. :)

A girls trip for F&W would be fun! I might have to try to talk my sister into that one day.

When I was a kid, we always went to WDW in either July or August. My parents never pulled us out of school. Obviously, that didn't stop me and Tony from pulling Madison out! It was always hot, but that's all that we knew! It wasn't until our January 09 trip that we discovered off-season touring! :thumbsup2

I think Logan's going to rope me into running at some point. He really wants to do a marathon at Disney, but we'll see.

Congrats on the new little one!
The trip is a tough call. I would probably do it, but I haven't been to Disney in almost 2 years, so I'm anxious for a trip. July is rough.

Thank goodness this heat has let up a bit! You'd think it was summer or something? ;)

Are you all sitting down? Jason actually brought up going back to Disney the other night. I had a long day and was grumpy and he jokingly said he should take me back to Disney because that always makes me happy. We're thinking either next May or the following fall. Hmmm maybe I should check out that free dining offer and see if I can't bump it a bit closer. :thumbsup2

We're finally making progress on our living room floor. It is about half way finished and we should hopefully have it completely done by this weekend and get some new interior doors and start on all the trim. I'm going to be so happy when my living room is no longer a construction zone.

Congrats on expecting a new little one soon! What a wonderful surprise!

I'm glad the heat has started to let up - it's been on the news here about how hot has been. I leave for England tomorrow night and am getting all excited and nervous all at the same. I've added my travel blog to my signature and the password is bazinga (although I may take that off eventually!).

Monny2AE - Well done on the floor! And well done to Jason for bringing up Disney :D. Good thinking!

Bellasoleil - I don't think I congratulated you - so, congrats!

Hey Shawna -
Free dining for Disney Visa got released! Can you use it???

I'm not Shawna, but thought I'd chime in. :)

I had heard that the Visa offer would be released and then to the GP later this week. Really excited about it, because it would save us about $800 (we needed to upgrade our DS to a junior (even though he's not quite 10 yet) because he eats so much and there's no way the kids menu would be enough food, let alone enough variety for him). Low and behold, I got a pin on Friday night for free dining! Go figure! Now I need to make DH sit down so we can finalize ADRs!!! We're doing a one-night room only so we can check in on the day of FD, but that's okay. I think I'll talk DH into a MNSSHP on that night! :thumbsup2

Now, I can finally finalize airfare!

Hey Wendy!! I have not, but it's on our list with England...If I had to pick right now, I would probably do Ireland, but that's just because so many of our Grandparents are from there...I do want to go to Scotland-I always have...I don't think you could go wrong with either--Scotland actually sounds better--I have heard wonderful things about Edinburgh (sp?)... keep us posted on what you do!!!!

No, however, I am in England right at the moment and am hoping to go to Scotland in the next week or so! Is there anything you want me to find out?
