I think the universe is trying to force me to go to Disney! A friend (and fellow Disney fanatic) keeps messaging me about her upcoming trip, and should she switch from 40% WL to free dining at CBR. I'm again hooked on these darn boards and trying to catch up on everyones TR/PTR's when I should be doing laundry, THEN, the kids turn on Funniest Videos, and the Fab Five are there, giving away DVC! AAAAAHHHHHH!!!! WHERE'S MY MONEY TREE!!

When you find your money tree send me a little sapling to plant at my house would ya?

Disney is taunting me too. Andrew put on the Planning DVD yesterday and I actually felt my eyes well up watching the beginning when they surprise the kids with a trip to Disney. Pathetic I know. I find myself pricing things hoping it will magically lower the next time I price it. I keep trying to convince DH we can go this December with free dining but losing 3 daycare kids all at once and no potential new families as of yet is ruining my chances of it happening.

I'd like a sprig from that money tree too! When I was planting one of my flower beds earlier this summer, Sarah stuck a quarter in the dirt and said it was real money and she was going to grow a real money tree. The other night we were out there and saw that nothing was growing. She tried to convince me there was a leaf, but I am fairly certain it was a weed.

If it ever starts growing, you can count on me to share with my snowbird friends!

Hello my dear birdie friends!!

August is always such a crazy month, and the next few weeks are no exception ( and I don't even have kids yet...can't imagine the insanity most of you women go through!!)

Yesterday I went to Noah's Ark with a friend and her children/ nieces and nephew. 7 kids aged 16 -6. I'm proud to report, no sunburns for me. The oldest kid however decided she was too cool to reapply. She is burned. We told her no less than 4 times to do it, she said no. I finally said, fine but you don't get to complain then....

Today is my Grandma's 98th birthday!!

I've got baseball games tonight and tomorrow night. Also tomorrow family from out to town is coming for the weekend.

Saturday my church is honoring members that are over 90 yrs. So the family is attending that (we actually have a head count of about 30 showing up for it.) then dinner after.

Sunday then is Grandma's Birthday Party here. So more time with family...most of whom I only see when there is a party - meaning free food. My mother tried to convince me that we don't need alcohol. I said I did if she actually wanted me to be here . I told her I'd put it in my Disney mug and no one would know the difference.

Then next Wednesday it's off to Minneapolis for the Twins/Red Sox game!!

Goodness, I'm tired just making this list.

Today is my Grandma's 98th birthday!!

Sunday then is Grandma's Birthday Party here. So more time with family...most of whom I only see when there is a party - meaning free food. My mother tried to convince me that we don't need alcohol. I said I did if she actually wanted me to be here . I told her I'd put it in my Disney mug and no one would know the difference.

First, happy birthday to your grandma!!! Second..there are many of my family gatherings that alcohol is just a necessity! The Disney mug is a great distraction.

And that was quite a list of things this weekend....I'm tired just looking at it!

I'm headed for a much-needed girl day tomorrow with on of my dear friends. We're headed to an arts & crafts fair about 3 hours north of me. Driving up to her house tonight. Can't wait!! DH and DS are on their own for the night!

Kim...still no prospects of new little kiddies? Hopefully when school starts you will be unindated with calls....you gotta work this disney deal!!! LOL...you know that just did FD for the next few months, so room deals will hopefully be coming soon. That's what I am hanging on for...the FD is not as good of savings for my family...and it's not available for all our days, so it's a no-brainer for me.

Holy Hannah! You are busy!! We have tickets for the Twins on Saturday night. Too bad we don't have Wed's game - we could have a DIS meet at the ballpark!! Wishing you good weather - it is supposed to cool down!

Shawna - it's true FD only is a good deal if you stay mod or value. We priced it out compared to a discounted room and it usually was better to take a discount at a deluxe. Now, if there was no discount, I'd take the Free Dining. You do know that as long as it's available on your check-in day, you get it for the whole stay,right?

How fun!! I could use a day like that! I always say I want to go with a girlfriend to the outlets about an hour from here. Never seems to happen. I go with the family and they all get stuff and I don't! Well, sometimes I do.

My August is quickly filling up! I started as a Pampered Chef consultant and am having a training and 4 shows this month - so I'm doing a lot of organizing and planning. I also have a friend visiting next week from PA (haven't seen her in 4 years). Plus a weekend trip to Fargo (DH wants to see an airshow) and a weekend camping trip (girls kids only). Oh, and there's that dang FT job too! That's gonna be busy.

I think it just hit me today that summer is nearly over! Andrew starts school in 19 days!!!!

No big prospects for daycare families yet but I have one little guy coming back for part time care 3 days a week so that's at least a little something. That puts me at 3 FT, 1 PT and 3 spots to hopefully fill soon. The other one's mom didn't hear back about her interview. They told her they would call her today if she got and her phone never rang. He probably won't be returning for the fall. It's so sad to see teachers not able to teach.

Anyone ready for my big news for the day????

We booked free dining for December! I didn't go for the trip insurance in case we have to cancel but it's booked nonetheless. If all stays as it is we should be able to swing it without touching savings. My mom is buying us tickets for MVMCP if we go. I love my mom! It will be our Christmas present! Cross your fingers nothing happens between now and then to make us cancel. Oct. 27th is our 45 day mark when we would have to cancel if need be but I'm REALLY hoping we won't have to!!! We are set to start driving Friday Dec. 9th- possibly arriving late evening or finishing the drive Sat. Dec. 10th. Dec. 10 we check into ASMo with a room only reservation and will be picking up the park tickets. Our package with free dining will be Dec. 11-17. We're staying at All Star Movies- never been but I'm excited to try something new. I think the kids will LOVE it!

I feel like I've been on the "we're going...we're not going...we're going" roller coaster but I am determined to be at Disney this fall! My mom always said I was stubborn.

Have you ever been to the All Stars? I loved it there! We were in the Calypso building...I think! But it was close to the pool themed with the Three Cabelleros!! My boys were small then and it was our 2nd trip and we loooooved it!!!! Hopefully you can pull this off...your kids will really like the MVMCP too...it's beautiful!

Hey Snowbird Friends!

Just wanted to pop in and let you all know that YES I am still alive!!! Life is really insane right now! As some of you know my DH is struggling with severe depression right now and it is causing huge upheaval in our lives! However scary the road ahead might be I have a strong faith in God and I know that no matter what God is ALWAYS with me!

Our trip to Disney is still on - thank goodness! I sooo need a break right now! Can NOT wait to be at the Poly! There is a hammock and a lapu Lapu calling me!!! I can't wait to relax!

Anyways - hope you all are doing well and dreaming good dreams of Disney!

Miss you all and wish you all the best! I will try to pop in more regularly from now on!

I'm going to have a website and in a couple months I can take online orders and ship to you. So you can all do some Christmas shopping!

Well, our big news of the weekend - WE GOT OUR NEW REFRIGERATOR! We're doing a total kitchen reno, and second - I ORDERED THE CABINETS! We've been talking & planning for a couple of years now, and this time, it's really going to happen! :cheer:

Congrats on becoming a Pampered Chef consultant. I have a few PC things I can't live without but my favorite is my chopper. I hate chopping onions that thing is a life saver.

No ADR's this trip. We're keeping to a budget and staying at a value with free QSDDP. We decided to focus on spending our money on experiencing Christmas at Disney instead of dining.

Have you ever been to the All Stars? I loved it there! We were in the Calypso building...I think! But it was close to the pool themed with the Three Cabelleros!! My boys were small then and it was our 2nd trip and we loooooved it!!!! Hopefully you can pull this off...your kids will really like the MVMCP too...it's beautiful!

This will be our first time staying at ASMo and values in general. Boy I sound like such a resort snob. I love CBR but I'm excited to try something new! I think the kids will like it better than CBR.

I know how you feel. My cousin that I used to babysit is due any day now with her own baby! I feel old.

Yes, we got a Samsung French Door fridge - it's huge (28.5 cu. ft.)! But my DH is a real cook and our old one was always stuffed. We got the one with only the single freezer drawer, not the multiple drawers. It's beautiful!

I have a client going at that same time! I just switched her over to free dining and getting through to Disney was a nightmare. It was constantly busy for hours and then I was on hold forever. But it's so worth it! I was thrilled that I could save her money.

No big news for us yet about a possible trip, but Tony hasn't shot it down yet. When I reminded him that I would get commission for everyone's bookings, that made him happy.
