Hi Everyone  After some encouragement from my friends on the random thread I decided to take the plunge and write a PTR. This is my first attempt at one so please bear with me...it is going to be a bumpy ride.

Cast of Characters:

Jessica: That would be me. I love all things Disney...especially Snow White. I love love love to plan and was in charge of making all the plans for this trip (my parents might regret leaving me in charge since I am a fan of commando style touring)

My mom. She was recently bitten by the Disney bug during our November 2007 trip and almost wasn't going to be joining us on this trip (more on that later).

My dad. He is counting down the seconds until we leave...he practices his "photopass smile" each night before he goes to bed and will do his "Disney Dance" for anyone that asks.

Our dates are August 16th-August 21st and we are staying at one of my favorite resorts...Pop Century [/COLOR]

Coming up next...Didn't you just go to Disney?

Yay!!!!! Can't wait to read all of your plans Snow!!!! Great start to your PTR!!

Let's see...it all started in June 2007, I happened to be reading the travel section of the Sunday paper when I came across an article about the Haunted Mansion rehab. I showed my mom the article and said...

"You know it has been 5 years since we went to Disney...maybe we should go back!"

I still cannot believe the words that came out of her mouth after I said this...

"I think that is a great idea...how about this November?"

Let's just say she had to pick me up from off the ground
:faint:

I quickly got online and started doing research. By that evening I had packages priced out and I was ready to book the trip.

My mom decided that just her and I would be going since my dad wasn't going to be having his knee replaced until January 2008 and would not be able to walk in the parks.

We booked our trip for November 26th-December 1st and were going to be staying at Pop Century
:woohoo:

I spent the next few months planning out each day and I quickly became addicted to the DIS Boards. Almost all my sentences started with "You won't believe what I read on the DIS today..." I made a count down chain at my 150 day mark and anxiously awaited the arrival of my trip :hyper:

Finally the day came, November 26th, and it was time to go. My mom and I said goodbye to my dad and we were off for our action-packed mother-daughter trip. We had a wonderful time but we really missed having my dad around. As we were leaving Epcot one day I asked my mom when we could come back as a family. She said not until January 2010 :( I figured that was better then nothing...but in my head the wheels were already turning.

A few months passed after my trip and it was time for my dad to have his knee surgery. He had a few complications and it was a rough time for him but he made a full recovery. I asked my mom if there was anyway we could maybe take a trip to Disney sooner than 2010 to celebrate my dad finally having two good knees and she said she would consider it. :woohoo:

I happened to be reading the DIS boards one day in February when I came across a thread about free dinning. I brought this topic up to my mom and she said there was NO WAY she was going to WDW in August. I suggested maybe just dad and I could go. She thought about it and finally said yes :woohoo:

We booked our trip for August 16th-August 21st (I knew this meant we would miss free dinning but I didn't mention it to mom and she eventually forgot all about free dinning)

My dad was so excited that he was going to get to take a father-daughter trip to WDW. He talked about it to anyone who would listen :goodvibes

I spent the following months planning out the perfect trip...I made all my ADR's and wrote out index cards...I was all set until one day in June when my mother mentioned she wanted to come along...

Coming up...What do you mean we aren't going to have a father-daughter trip?

But your Mom is so :cutie: . I'm glad you're getting your family trip.

Oh and I want more pictures ;)

snow, you surely know how to keep us in suspense! When's the book coming out?
I'm thrilled that you will have both of your parents with you. My going without DD and DH is going to be hard for me.

I look forward to reading more tomorrow! Thanks for giving me something new to look forward to!

I'm really excited to be having a family trip...we haven't had one since 2002 :yay:

Great job!
I want to hear about every single free dining meal, too, in the trip report later!

We actually aren't going to be there for free dinning...I just used that as a way to get my mom to agree to the trip and then when she found out it didn't fit our dates it was too late for her to change her mind ;)

I will be taking pictures of my food though :thumbsup2

Actually, that makes me feel a little better.......I was thinking we were one week too early for free dining and you know how much I love a freebie!
Sorry that you will miss it, too, but it worked in the original deal!:thumbsup2

I am a little sad that we are missing out on free dinning but there is always next year (if they offer it) ;)

Sometime in the middle of June my mom mentioned to me that she wanted to come along with my dad and I in August. I was in shock and had no idea she was even considering coming along :scared1: I couldn't believe that this was the same woman who hated that I brought up Disney everyday before our November trip and didn't want to go back to the world until 2010.

I asked her if she was positive that she wanted to join us and reminded her that we were going in August when it is HOT! She said yes she was positive. So I spent that evening on the phone with Disney changing all of our reservations to three people. I was lucky enough to get the same times and places that we had when there was just the two of us
:woohoo:

The hard part was telling my dad that my mom would be joining us on our father-daughter trip...

To say he was upset would be an understatement...my dad was devastated that it wasn't just going to be the two of us. Now my dad has nothing against my mom going to Disney he just didn't think it was fair that I got to go on a trip with just my mom and not him but my mom was allowed to come on our one-on-one trip  Keep in mind my father is in his sixties and not two years old
;)

Dad pouted for a few days but in the end he realized that it would be even better to have my mom along since we would be able to have a family trip.
:thumbsup2

To say he is excited for this trip would be putting it lightly...he talks about it non-stop everyday. Last night he sat down next to me and said...

"We are going to Disney soon...have you packed your bag...I packed my bag...I'm all ready to go...I've been studying the maps like you told me" He looked just like this --> :hyper:

So as off today we are 10 days away from our first WDW family vacation in six years.

I have lots of fun stuff planned which will be coming up next
:thumbsup2

This post lacks pictures and if you ask me pictures are the best part of a PTR so I have added a few from our November trip...
