Snow to 80 in 8 days–A spoonful of Holiday Cheer (2/5 update Ch 36 - Final Thoughts)

No, about being picked on as in the post by you above that is bolded. It's okay, Marv, I know when I'm not welcome.
:sad2:
Aw, I feel so welcome now Marv, thanks! I think. ;)
Hmm, that wasn't how I wanted you to feel at all!!! :confused3
Of course:thumbsup2. Though I might replace a few of those adjectives with other words...:rolleyes1
:headache:
:rotfl2:
Don't worry Kathy, you and I are a united front.:cheer2:

Marv really knows how to roll out the welcome mat, doesn't he.:sad2:
You both know I really love you bunches!!! :flower3:
These pictures make me smile. I love that the little kid was triumphant over the 'I am too cool for this' kid.
I have a feeling you will treasure these pictures for a long time to come. :)
He is a young man of many phases. Wait until you see him in his white tuxedo he ordered for his 8th grade dance.....
Here I was trying to be nice and ya still pick on me and WHAT has Gleeful Glenn bin tellin'ya !!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Sorry Rosie, this IS a family site!!! :lmao:

Hmm, that wasn't how I wanted you to feel at all!!! :confused3

Sure, um hmm. I believe you.;) Not!

You both know I really love you bunches!!! :flower3:

Awww, that's so sweet Marv. Please disregard my above statement then .

He is a young man of many phases. Wait until you see him in his white tuxedo he ordered for his 8th grade dance.....

White tuxedo? I'm having flashbacks to my parents wedding where my dad was sporting a snazzy white tuxedo. I still make fun of him when I see the pictures! But I'm thinking an eighth grader can get away with it, it's retro now!

Marv, just realized you're TR is still going, so had to come over and add this to my list of lurking!! ;) I don't mean to lurk so much, but all these PTR/TR's move so quickly and I'm not as clever at guessing games or banter.:sad2:

Rosie had mentioned in a post your having a December PTR which convinced her December would be a great time to go for our big celebration. I've been early December 5 or 6 times, but still haven't had time to see the WS Santas/StoryTellers so am looking forward to catching up here and reading about your trip!

So, Good Mornin', Marv and I'm off to begin catching up!:goodvibes

Christine, you don't have to worry about Marv's TR moving quickly. It's slower than a snail. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

:welcome: Christine! Feel free to lurk away!!! At least you won't be making snide remarks like SOME people!!!.......(speaking of which)
Christine, you don't have to worry about Marv's TR moving quickly. It's slower than a snail. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Oh snap, I know you didn't just call Dan, Tim and Glenn slugs........ Oh no you di'nt!!!

Marvin, I just realized that you did not reset your ticker, it claims you will leave for WDW in 9 days!! Did you ever mention how rebooking your room and ADRs went? I am sorry if I have forgotten, I was just wondering whether you are a bit sad that you will have to wait longer for your trip? And how is your eldest son doing? Has he already gotten his orders? I remember that there would have been a chance that he could have come along for the June trip...

Oops, thanks for pointing that out Magdalene! I hadn't even thought about changing it....... :confused3

I really do need to post an update on all of that! I've just been so busy lately I've had to put all my available time into all those frequent TR updates....... :rolleyes1
And how is your eldest son doing? Has he already gotten his orders? I remember that there would have been a chance that he could have come along for the June trip...
He actually got his orders when he graduated. He is in Virginia right now checking out apartments to rent. Hopefully he finds something he likes. I am heading up with him next week to get him all moved and settled in. He reports to the base for duty the first weekend of June, which is when we were originally heading to Disney, so if I hadn't changed the trip dates I wouldn't have been able to go help him out as much as I will now.

Will try and post updated info on the trip later today......

Oh snap, I know you didn't just call Dan, Tim and Glenn slugs........ Oh no you di'nt!!!

I do NOT recall even mentioning Dan (who has an excuse...he is in Hawaii), Tim (who is working nine days straight so I'll give him a little slack and his trip was more recent than yours) and Glen is about done...I think he just needs to do a recap or something. So, as you were saying......

Oh, and I saw your message on my PTR -- and I love you too.

Okay, here is the next installment of the Contest. It will take multiple TR updates to cover our DHS day, so there will probably be two or maybe three related sets of contest questions! There are lots of pictures from this day, so it just depends on where I have to divide up the day to stay under the 25 images limit.

Don't try and read too much into the wording I used. I tried really hard to word questions so as not to insinuate the answers to some of the other ones.

How many of us made rope drop for our DHS day? (At least one did, but not all)

How far from the rope was Marv when they took it down? (how many people back)

Who showed up for the Pre-Opening show? (performers that is)

What was the first set of Fastpasses that were collected?

Did any of the Marvali clan ride Toy Story Midway Mania standby first thing that morning?

For the first ride on RnR, was the Standby line or Single Rider line used?

What were the first four rides done that morning, in order? (checking everyone's touring guide knowledge)

Who among my DISfriends (and I use that term loosely) got the first picture tribute at DHS?

Who scored the highest points in the Marvali clan on the first TSMM ride of the day?

Who scored the lowest?

Christine, you don't have to worry about Marv's TR moving quickly. It's slower than a snail. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You are such a fresh kid!!!!:rotfl2: Love ya!!

Snail TR's are perfect for me - so glad to have finally found one that moves slow enough to catch up!!:rotfl:

Are we answering here? In PM? Snail mail?

Oops, thanks for pointing that out Magdalene! I hadn't even thought about changing it....... :confused3

Don't worry about the update! I would love to read about it, but only if it isn't too much stress for you! :goodvibes But I like the new ticker! ;)

So there is a silver lining about having to postpone the trip in so far as you can help your DS settling into adult life. I wish him all the best for the huge duty he is taking on!

Not sure Marv would agree with you on that...he's always reminding me I'm older than him.

You'll find that when he does any "actual" reporting, it's very good. ;)

The only person aorund here that is older than me is Rosie!! :scared1:

I've just about caught up and it is an excellent TR! ::yes:: In all honesty, I feel that way about all the TR's on which I lurk...such great story tellers, all of you!! :thumbsup2

Okay, I know you guys are all exhausted from the rapid-fire bombardment of TR updates lately, so I decided to give you a brief respite and respond to Magdalene's request for an update on our summer trip.......

I had been thinking about making a slight change to our plans but had not had (or maybe taken is more accurate) the time to do it yet. I started thinking about it last night and thought oh no, it is too late to make a change to our DVC reservation without the penalty of the extra points going into holding instead of back to our account. When I looked this morning I was reminded that we weren't supposed to check into SSR until Sunday (instead of Friday when we are driving down), so when I actually counted the days I had until tomorrow to make the change without "penalty."

When I originally booked the reservation it was going to be 5 points over our allotment so I had to borrow the 5 points from 2012. I didn't really like the idea of having less than our annual purchased points for a trip next year (this would be the first time that happened) so I started rethinking our options. We were already going to be staying off-property the first two nights and after planning out our park days, Tuesday looked like a great time to take a break. So why not just stay off-property until Tuesday and move over to SSR that day since we wouldn't be worried about making rope drop anywhere? So here are our new plans:

We will now drive down on Friday, June 24th and check into one of the Downtown Disney hotels, staying the first four nights there. We will be within walking distance to DTD and Disney bus transportation, plus all the shops and restaurants. Then on Tuesday, June 28th we will move into a 1BR Villa at SSR, checking out and heading home on Monday, July 4th. The move between resorts should go rather smoothly since we will be only about a mile from the entrance to SSR.

I had already loosely planned our itinerary for the trip and used the Online Dining Reservation site to grab some initial ADRs. I plan to go through those again and modify them, possibly removing some and adding some others but a few I remember are ones some of you have been talking about a lot lately that we haven't tried. Some of those are Biergarten, Character Meal at Garden Grill, breakfast ADRs at Boma and Kona Cafe (big kahuna and tonga toast), a lunch ressie at Le Cellier (okay a repeat, but when you can get a ressie here why not), a return trip to 50s PTC and a pre park-opening breakfast ADR at Crystal Palace.

So now the real trip planning begins........

I do NOT recall even mentioning Dan (who has an excuse...he is in Hawaii), Tim (who is working nine days straight so I'll give him a little slack and his trip was more recent than yours) and Glen is about done...I think he just needs to do a recap or something. So, as you were saying......
I notice you didn't mention how much more "recent" Glenn's trip was. I plan to get mine done prior to us leaving on the next trip, which is less than 6 months from when we returned home........

As Rosie would say............Cheeky Monkey!!! :sad2:
Oh, and I saw your message on my PTR -- and I love you too.
Okay, I take that back.....
You are such a fresh kid!!!!:rotfl2: Love ya!!

Oh thanks Christine..... I think???

Awww....... (even though I know you are starting to take after Molly and you're only after my bonus points!!!)
Are we answering here? In PM? Snail mail?
Funny!! And just go ahead and answer here in super secret white text!

Hmmm, should have read this before I labored over that highly detailed update!!! :rolleyes1
The only person aorund here that is older than me is Rosie!! :scared1:
I don't think I would have admitted that!!!
I've just about caught up and it is an excellent TR! ::yes:: In all honesty, I feel that way about all the TR's on which I lurk...such great story tellers, all of you!! :thumbsup2
:goodvibes For a second there I was feeling pretty good........

But then I have to agree with you. There are a LOT of really good storytellers around here, :thumbsup2 even though I personally don't think I come anywhere close to some of them.... (but that is certainly not something I worry about; I know my limitations when it comes to creative writing). Glad you enjoy!

:banana::banana: for the summer pre-trip update!

Sounds like you did pretty well with your ADRs! You even got Le Cellier!! I am so looking forward to hear about your experience at Biergarten. Will that be lunch or dinner? Katharina and I had it on our list, but couldn't really justify an ADR there since there are so many other more unique (for us) places at WDW.
