Snow baby, SNOW

We are getting a nasty winter storm system though it was still 80 and sunny, but it's producing 30-50' waves!!

Well, we're officially getting the first part of the storm.. so far it isn't bad, just a light, pretty snow. :goodvibes Now let's just hope it stays that way...

We are on the bottom of the storm in St. Louis MO and we are expected to get some rain maybe some sleet/snow however no accumulation here.
Blah I have to drive around in the mess tonight.:upsidedow

Haha....the first year we moved here we got the first big snow of the season and my kids were thrilled thinking no school....UM NOPE!! Not here!! WE have only been cancelled twice in 2 years and it was for extreme cold. When we lived in Ohio, if they even thought it was going to snow, they would close the schools...snow days were used up by the beginning of December.

That is 2 more snow days then we have had :lmao:.

Anything headed toward Massachusetts? We need some snow!

TOMORROW! Snow and rain, depends where you are how much of what you will get. Up here they say 3-6 inches then turning to rain I guess.

LOL, yeah we don't get those either! We did have school closed for cold for 2 days, I think it was 2 years ago. I thought that was silly, I think it was because we do have some kids further out in our district.
Sorry though, I am not cheering on the snow! I need to move LOL. My DS has never driven in it, so I am worried sick about him getting home from school today, and to school tomorrow.

Our DS did his behind the wheel during the winter. We got about 6" one day he was supposed to go out and he figured it would be canceled but they didn't and I was glad, living here you need to learn how to drive in snow. Take your DS to the school parking lot tonight when it is snowing and empty and have him drive around, especially have him try to spin out so he can get used to what it feels like and how to correct for it.

Winter Storm Warnings here in Northern Michigan. They say we will have 7 in on the ground by morning but that is if our snow changes to rain which the weatherman perdicts will not happen so probably more than that. Then we are suppose to get additional in Lake Effect. Should be a wild couple of days.

My H is bringing his computer home and says that he will work from home if it's bad.

I have to pick my college D up from the airport in a week. Hopefully we get a storm this week and that it will be good next week. I just want her home.

Of course my S in WI did not get new tires for his car even though we've been after him to do so. Luckily he is only a couple of miles from his work. Go figure that the tire store is booked up! And his roommate doesn't have his car this week so my S can't drop his off. Kids will drive you crazy.

Bring on the 12"!!! I'm going to head to the store and pick up some baking supplies since I'm sure we'll be in tomorrow! (Which is fantastic, I'm all for a day off school...especially when I have a speech to give!) Anybody need anything??

Unfortunately we have to be at the middle school tonight for a concert, so we can't go driving. We were really hoping for the first big snow on a weekend, but as usual mother nature doesn't care LOL.
Lovin' that -3 forecasted for Thursday too, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

The bummer is we never get snow days around here. They get the roads cleared way too fast :lmao:. MAYBE if the system slides a little north and the worst hits right at 6:00AM on Wednesday we MIGHT get a 2 hour late start :lmao:.

hercamore lives in an area that is more rural and more open--you always get blizzards down by you...My BIL and SIL live near Cabelas and they get snowed in once a year or more.

:rotfl: We're already scheduled for our regular monthly 2 hr late start anyways for tomorrow..snow or not...haha...and I had already taken off tomorrow for a personal day so we are good to go here either way!

We're already getting light flurries...DH drive home from Woodbury should be entertaining tonight.!

Don't throw things, but i am looking forward to it. It's been too long w/o snow. It's December, in MN and it's not right without some white stuff on the ground.

We are right in the heart of St. Paul and I know there will be no late start/cancellation. Too many familes depend on the school to have their kid for the day so they don't have to miss work.

It's just really grey out there right now, but a coworker lives in Cottage Grove and its already started by her house. So it will be snowing here shortly.

My BFF lives in a tiny little town outside Mankato and she is a teacher. I am guaranteeing she will have tomorrow off..

I live in Rochester. We had a bit of "appetizer" snowfall this a.m. just enuf to cover the grass. Not snowing now.

No cancellations yet in anticipation of the storm with heavy snow expected to start round noon.

On the positive side, glad the storm is this week, not Christmas week, and hopefully this will be the only major storm this month.

herc.

That's when my DD learned too! She was taking classes during the winter, and drove during some storms too. Glad she did!

I just wish for ONCE we could get in on a good winter storm. We're always just under the line...and we get rain. UGH! I need snow! I'm a snow bunny who just can't get a break!!
I'm moving to Chicago. or Michigan. or Minnesota. or Wisconsin. *SIGH*

Yep 14" on its way here in southern WI! Already snowing out....we have a winter weather warning out until thursday and they are advising not to be on the roads tue, wed, and thur unless absolutely neccessary.

We have about 2" so far but tiny, tiny flakes so it could be worse. They just extended the blizzard warning to about 30 miles south of us so MAYBE we will even get a blizzard out of the deal. I came home at about 1:30 today and 35E already had some drifts because the snow is so light and the wind is picking up. I guess after 9 is when it is supposed to get really bad here.

Hi Neighbor....15" coming here too in the burbs of Milwaukee! (My in-laws are in Beloit) I hope they will be OK with snowblowing and shoveling

So did ours but there is a difference driving it with an experienced adult and by yourself. This is the first time our son has driven by himself. And yes he has had more practiced than what was required.
