Just curious if anybody has been yet or could advise on this. My family was thinking of extending a day in the area and looking to do something offsite. Thanks in advance!

This event just opened last night and was hoping to see some pictures and reviews on it.

Snow wasn't open yet for the media preview on Fri. so I just saw Ice, but from what I've heard it's definitely worth doing. Ice was great as usual.

We're going tomorrow. I'll take pics and post them for you. We'll be doing the Ice in the am, then a Thanksgiving buffet dinner, then the snow afterward. Hope it's a great time. :)

Great, Thank you

Havne't been able to find pics or reviews anywhere aand I especially thought it odd that Gaylord Palms didn't have any pictures either

Happy Thanksgiving

Ok just back and here's my review and pics. First of all, let me tell you we purchased the ice/snow combo... did the ice when we got there, had Thanksgiving dinner at 2:40 at Villa de Flora right there at Gaylord Palms, then did the 5pm snow. The snow is a 45 min session.

The ice was spectacular, well worth every cent. The dinner was phenomenal. Delicious. The snow was a let down. I now know why they don't post pics of it. Even the pic they do have up on their website is strangely misleading. It looks a lot bigger than it is. Basically they erected a tent, filled the back half with some snow (one part for snowangels and "snowmen" though no one was actually building snowmen) and the other part for snowball target which the kids flocked to and really did love. Then they have two very small snowtube slopes. It looks a lot larger in the picture. One person goes down at a time. Only one slope was open this evening. That's the only actual snow there is. The other half of the tent consists of five carnival games and a food stand with the worst cotton candy I've ever had!

That being said, my nephew (he's 5) did enjoy himself. I just expected it to be magnificent like the rest of the day. I'm hoping this was just a test run and they'll expand as necessary in the future. I definitely wouldn't pay just for snow. The combo isn't bad since you get to go to the ice as well!! Here are some pics:

We at least now know what to expect.

Gaylord Palms is not affiliated with Disney. Maybe you should rethink patronizing that place. Just sayin.

I patronize Disney and their resorts, I have stayed at Disney resorts more then most and the only I will stay at but since I live in Fl and the only snow that Disney offers falls over main street I always look for any entity that will bring it in for my snow deprived daughter to play in and sled. How can you ever compare Disney Resorts (Beach Club, Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, etc) to Gaylord Palms?

I have been going to Disney since they opened and for the last several years have stayed every month 1-2 times a month at one of the deluxe resorts.
Has nothing to do with taking a child to play in snow for a couple of hours.

We're heading to Ice and Snow in a couple weeks. Can anyone tell me what floor of the hotel these exhibits are located on? Thanks!

When I called the hotel they said to drive around and park by the convention center where this i taing place. Less of a walk then going through lobbt. There are also supposed to be free musical shows to see in the hotel. Has anyone been to these?

ChipnDale, we are doing both ICE! and SNOW! in Nashville this weekend, and then the Rockettes afterward. My concern was our clothes getting wet from the "snow" like it does when we play in our yard. Was that an issue at all? I am trying to decide if I need to take something for us to change into before the Rockettes.

Thanks,

Oh gosh, I never saw this! I'm so sorry. No, you don't get wet like you do in your yard. There's really not that much snow so you should be fine, though I suspect you're already there! Hopefully you didn't pack a whole new set of clothing for it, and I hope you're enjoying it!! :goodvibes

The shows weren't open on Thanksgiving, so we didn't get to go to them, but I've heard they're cute and worth the time. :goodvibes
