Sneaking alcohol into MK

I am constantly amazed at people. :confused3

I rarely drink, that said, spending five or so days at The Happiest Place on Earth with my three beautiful children makes me want an alcoholic beverage more than going on a fieldtrip with 100 8th graders to a museum. :hippie:

........

People are usually obnoxious because of the lines or waiting, or something else. :rolleyes1 (Last time I was at an Epcot Rope Drop a grandmother kept trying to run me down with her stroller.) :sad2:

Drink before you go, I highly reccommend the BACK SCRATCHER at the Poly's Ohana's followed by a ride on Space Mountain. :lmao: I won't do THAT again.

Imagine that, an honest mom!! :rotfl::rotfl: A little know fact...back in the 60's Valuim was known as "Mama's little helper" :rotfl:

P.S. I wouldn't want to be behind you on Space Mountain!!

Then you are interpreting that post wrong. I was simply supporting the right of those who want to do something that is ALLOWED by Disney to do so without harassment. I never stated people should be allowed to take their child into the smoking area, if that is indeed not allowed. I would have thought by my name of Maxiesmom most people would guess I was not a minor.

I stand by my comments that if you can't be bothered to walk to the Contemporary or monorail over to the Poly, yet have to sneak a alcoholic beverage into MK, you have a problem. No matter what excuses you give for maybe wanting to do so.

Then read all the posts in the thread before you fire off comments on the subject. The original poster in that thread was talking about a CM that told a smoker in the smoking area that they could not have theri children under 18 in the area with them. You them make the comment that you accompany your Mother in to the area and nobody better tell you what to do and MYOB.

As with many posters here you enter a thread way down the line and make comments that have nothing to do with the original situation presented by the OP and don't think about how those comments are interpreted because you know what you meant. Well everyone else doesn't necessarily know what you meant as it relates to the origianl question.

Then you decide someone has a problem because they want to do something that is not something you would do and declare that they have a drinking problem. Well I don't but you can believe anything you want because it has absolutely no effect on me or reality.

And right now I am far to much a Texas Gentleman to tell you or any other poster here what I have concluded about you based on your posts. But you can imagine.

Maybe you need to take into consideration that many threads tend to veer a little bit off course, and not every comment made on them are direct responses to the OP. Many comments on that particular thread were about how smoking is horrible and should be banned outright. That is what I was responding to. The fact that smoking is allowed, and no one should be hassled for doing so in the designated area.

As far as your being a gentleman, that is up for debate. No real gentleman would post backhanded insults, and then claim they were being a gentleman by doing so.:rolleyes1

And for what it is worth, if you cannot go a few hours without a drink, then yes, you have a problem. As I have stated I am not against a drink now and then, where it is allowed. Go where it is allowed, there are many places within 15 minutes of the Magic Kingdom that fit the bill. If that is too much to ask, then you do have a problem. Disney has told you it is not allowed in one park. Your choice then is wether you drink before or after, it shouldn't be how am I going to sneak this one in.

you folks can continue to try and rationalize all you what...to can twist mine and the others comments and wording all you want, its still comes down to this:

1.. It is againist the rule of the MK kingdom to bring alcohol into the MK.
It is not just a choice.....its wrong.

2. As for the guy that said he drives 80 in a 55 zone, and its ok, he will pay for the ticket........well bud, you may kill yourself, your kids or others by doing it.

3. Any one who can't spend a day in the MK without a drink has a problem........You don't have to be a falling down drunk all the time to be a drunk.

If your so messed up you go into a bathroom to mix a drink..........You have a problem or at the very least you know your doing something wrong!

Acting inappropretly, by being drunk, a little drunk, or just acting inapproportly is child abuse......don't even go there I know to much about it...if you say its not, your wrong, end of story.

4. I and as far as I can find no one else nor did I, (except the rules don't apply to me/us folks)..ever say anything about running around checking on other folks cups.....but I will if I see it, advise WDW secruity of anyone drinking in the park.

5. Walt set the policy way back with the opening of DL that alcohol would not be served in the MK there or the to be built WDW MK. Maybe just to respect the genius of the man who gave us and our kids all the magic of Disney you may want to respect his wishes.

6. I tended bar in college, my wife and I enjoy a drink now, and more then one when we want to..........but I respect the rules of a public venue as to where and when I enjoy it, I actually think I have a responsibility to others enjoying their vacations to follow the rules of wherever I go. Gee, what a idea.........I actually think the rules apply to everyone.

So keep trying to convince yourselves........but your not convincing anyone else.

Drinking, being little drunk, or even being very drunk is NOT child abuse. There are many actions that could be committed when drunk that would be abusive, however those same actions would be abusive without alcohol in the equation.

I fully agree with all your points but there is just one question that keeps bogging me. What will happen if you or one of your children gets hurt while you have been drinking although it is forbidden?
Who's responsible in that case?

Please reread my statement, the word *inapproperte* in that if your inapproprete when drinking around kids, That is ABUSE!

1) Really? Let's see the incredibly impressive credentials you must possess to make such a statement....

2) Step 1 - find a mirror, step 2 - repeat this phrase back to yourself.

Your opinion is just that, your own opinion. Nothing more, nothing less. While it must feel empowering to try and be the last word on a subject, it looks a little silly here.

I respect that you have a point of view, just like everyone has the right to. However, the above bolded has me really confused and baffled.

According to the Journal of Child Abuse and Neglect, child abuse is "any recent act or failure to act on the part of a parent or caretaker which results in death, serious physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse or exploitation, an act or failure to act which presents an imminent risk of serious harm".

Do you really believe that someone who sneaks alcohol into the MK, or who has any alcohol in them and is around children, is on the same level of scum and vileness as the man who beat and killed my friend's 2 month old baby for crying or the scumbag who molested those boys at Penn State.... I cannot even fathom how you can equate the two????

Yes, you are right, it is inappropriate to drink in the MK because it is against their policy and it is against the law to bring in outside alcohol. I don't do it and wouldn't. But child abuse?? You are seriously reaching to prove your point and are doing a disservice to survivors and victims by claiming they are one and the same.

Look.......being or acting inapportretely(in this case involving drinking and being inapproprete) around a child, makes them unsure of the adult role model, nervious and fearful and scare.......thats emotional abuse.

PS........ Its not againist the law to bring alcohol into the MK.its againist the disney rules.

I still say the *the rules dont apply to me folks*.......are not convincing anyone but themselves (also knowing someone will now post that their opinion has be changed).....yeah......right!

What is this, Latin? Or is your keyboard under the inflatulence of alcohol?
5. Walt set the policy way back with the opening of DL that alcohol would not be served in the MK there or the to be built WDW MK. Maybe just to respect the genius of the man who gave us and our kids all the magic of Disney you may want to respect his wishes.

Walt's policy, if you must insist on dredging up his spirit, was no alcohol in front of the kids. Club 33 sells alcohol, in the park, at Disneyland.

And WDW provides alcohol in the MK during closed events for special people.

Hey, wait -- I'm special... my school teachers, parents, and loved ones told me so all the time I was growing up...so it must be OK for me to have alcohol in the MK, as long as I keep the kids in the dark. :rolleyes1

Bottom line, the only obvious problem someone has if they sneak some hootch into the MK is a problem with authority. It's a big stretch, and totally unsupportable, to say they have a drinking problem.

*bowing deeply*.....my pardon for my poor typing..guess your better then I am, or at least self impressed.

You are wrong about Walts policy,it is no alcohol sold within the park its a family park....... the 33 club, which that old spririt you seem to want to bury desgined is a private club and not rightfully part of the park.and private events are just that.private.

As to the rest....

yeah..yeah........whatever

Would you be happy if people just "fold" here and say you win? Honestly your remarks are just getting old and quite frankly don't even pertain to this thread. I am sorry that you were abused as a child...truly I am. But coming here and putting down people that are really not hurting anyone with their actions is just wrong and uncalled for. Telling them they are abusing their children is sick...you don't know any of us here nor do we know you. No one asked for your opinion on how to parent our children.

All that being said...I am just wondering one thing. If I were to sneak in alcohol to the MK knowing very well it was against the rules do you REALLY think I am going to tell my kids I am doing it??? "Look honey...Mommy is going to take this FORBIDDEN drink into the MK...first I am going to pour it into a water bottle (let me show you how), then I am going to put it in a secret spot and HOPE that I don't get caught by those scary security guards, then (IF I make it through the gates with it) I am going to run off to the bathrooom and make a "big girl" drink. DONT tell anyone honey...shhhhh"

Please!!! I think I might be able to do this (if I wanted) an not "abuse" my children but thanks for your concern.

Acting inappropretly
acting inapproportly is child abuse
the word *inapproperte* in that if your inapproprete
inapportretely (in this case involving drinking and being inapproprete)

Inappropriate (adj)

Inappropriately (adv)

If you're going to use the word so much, at least learn how to spell it. Also, check the definition.

And if behaving inappropriately is child abuse, every parent is an abuser. There are no parents who have been completely appropriate with the children for 18+ years. None. The ones who say they were are lying.

yeah..yeah........whatever

It really sucks when facts clash with your opinion, doesn't it? You can hope and wish that Club 33 isn't in the park, but my friend, it is. I think we're done here.

Every LSU home football game I ever attended saw the repeat of a timeless and honored ritual.

The announcer would dutifully quote the section of Louisiana law that made it illegal to bring alcoholic beverages into Tiger Stadium.

And the crowd (mostly students) would loudly cheer while holding up their own, private contraband for all to see.

My point? Did all of those students have a drinking problem? Probably not, but they wanted to enjoy an adult beverage as they watched their Bayou Bengals romp all over whichever hapless team was playing there that day.

In the same way, lots of otherwise responsible people would like to enjoy the Magic Kingdom along with an adult beverage or two -- as many have said, some of the rides might actually be more tolerable with a slight buzz going.

Stitch comes to mind immediately.

Your opinion is your opinion.....seems though I am not allowed to said mine.........sorry I inconvinced you today........by raising some real issues.....

PS I was never abused.........but all the rationizing in the world is going to change the FACTS I stated.
