Snakes!!!!

Got home today to find a note from my neighbour....

Lauren, wanted to let you know. There has been a rather large snake 4-5 feet in length. Between your swingset and my shed. I didn't want you to panic. So I didn't mention it. I got it today and killed it. Just a heads up to let you to know to be careful of the kids it was pretty large.

Oh great, should have told me to watch out Before he got it!

Stupid question..... can you exterminate for snakes?

He was probably saying that there was one snake out there, and there could be more.

A 5 ft snake is not big though. It can bite, but so can anything with teeth.
You need to get a description of the snake to try and find out what it was. Most likely very harmless.

One year, we had a lot of snakes in the yard living under our decorative stones. Anyway, I had a long conversation with our bee exterminator about them. He said, if you get mice in your house, a snake can get in and might try to follow the mice, otherwise don't worry about them.

All the chipmunks disappeared that year. Then the snakes disappeared as well.

We live on Cape Cod. The thing is large snakes are not at all common here!!!!This is the second one that has been in my yard. The first was one 2 years ago same type.

We did look up the snake... and it said it was most likely an Eastern Black racer. Non poisonous. But able to deliver a nasty bite. With severe pain and swelling localized at the bite sight. either way It is gross!!!!
