It was hanging out on the top of my dryer. While it looks big in the photo, actually it was only about 1/4" across and maybe a foot long. I can't find an exact match. Some of the hognose ones look like that... some don't. Some of the rattlesnakes also look like that! :faint:

I couldn't get near enough to it to catch it or kill it so the stupid thing may still be out in the garage. It finally fell off the dryer and went behind and then under it. I have no clue where it is now.

I'm hoping that the email I just sent off to a guy with a snake site will provide some answers. I'd like to be able to go out in the garage without being scared to death. :sad2:

Here it is and remember... you were warned!

That would be my cure to never do :laundy: again. It would be DHs job ;)

All I can say is if I am still going to move to Florida when I retire I better get over my fear of snakes. huh? :sad2:

Well, here is what I would do.

Lock the room where the snake is.

Put a "For Sale" sign up in the yard.

Move away, preferably to someplace that doesn't have snakes.

But hey, that's just me!

ALMOST looks like it could be an Eastern Diamondback - did the tail looks like a rattler at all? It's hard to tell in the picture.

Hopefully you hear back from the "experts" soon.

I can't access the extra smilies, so I'll just have to say EEEEEKKK!! instead. Looks like a good reason not to do laundry, though! ;)

Looks like a rat snake, aka as a corn snake.

I'd want to know where that thing is in the garage. It has to be removed - pronto. Be careful if you go back in there.

:scared: :crazy2: I hate snakes!!!

A little off topic, but do snakes get in garages a LOT in Fl?

We rented a house on our trip in March. About 10:00 one night 2 of the kids were in the gameroom(garage) playing table tennis. All of a sudden they came running thru the house screaming. The ball had landed on a little ledge on the garage door, and DN was about to pick it up and realized it was on a SNAKE!! We were a house full of women. I called the management company and he said he would come check on it in the morning. We were not about to go to sleep with it out there, so I went outside and found a man outside at another house. He was scared of snakes to, but he got it outside. Needless to say, we didn't use the gameroom anymore.

Did anyone else put their feet up as soon as they opened this thread? :scared:

OMG! :scared1: It would have to be a DEAD snake before I would step foot in the garage again.... much less attempt to do any laundry. How creepy!!!!!

Maybe a good business to start in Florida would be Rent-A-Mongoose :teeth:.

Looks almost like a Pygmy Rattler. I've had run-ins with them. Outside the house, I let them be. Inside the house, they lost their heads.

I'd sign up to be their first (and best) customer! DH is out back as I type attempting to kill another snake.
