Hello everyone!

This is my first message on this website, but I must say that I get excited about my vacation everytime that I visit!

I have a question for you all. We are traveling with a 7 year old, and plan on taking a backpack for some books, water, Gameboy, etc while waiting in line for the attractions. My question is this. With the stepped-up security, will they not let us bring in small snacks? For example, some Cheese-Its, Cheetos, etc? We would like to take some snacks for her to munch on throughout the day. What are your thoughts?

You will be fine, tho they may ask if you'll share.

Thank you for your reply!

Is there any "hard and fast" rule that they have? Do they have to be in Ziplocks, or can they be just something purchased at the store? Are they real "sticklers" on bringing food into the parks? I just don't want to cause a scene!!

Thanks again!

MM

They don't care. They will check every pocket, so it's wise to have all zippers unzipped, but they won't care how you carry the food.

we always have water and granola bars in our backpacks. When we went to DL, we brought in a box of a dozen Krispy Kremes!! (We were meeting family in the park) The security guy said as long as we were going to sell them in the park we were fine!

Don't worry about bringing in snacks, and they can be in ziploc bags or in the store packaging. With a 7 yo it is a good idea to have snacks available, as the mood to eat can strike at any time. We always cart our breakfast in our fanny parks, as we head off to the parks. Usually protein bars and dried fruit for me and DH, and some other breakfasty type food and a juice box for our DS. We have never had any questions or comments about this from the security guards who check our fanny packs.

I think the only thing you'll want to avoid is bringing in glass bottles, but other than that there won't be a problem.

Wow!

You all are a wealth of information!

I've been reading my Guidebooks from cover-to-cover, but this place is so much better! I can't wait to pack the car and head down to Florida!
