Snack places and must haves

Gotta get a Tigger Tail by Poohs ride! I got one on our last trip based on recommendations from here and it was amazing! My other fav is the mickey head rice krispie treats. I could skip the popcorn, churros, ice cream anytime. I'm more of a bakery kind of gal!:goodvibes

We always hit the Whitewater snacks for a quiet, easy meal. And we tried the Corndog place in DCA for lunch and loved it. Pretty much a heart attack on a stick but so yUMMY!

I posted after I got back from my last trip about a candy store in DCA. It is on the left hand side as you are heading towards the Hollywood Backlot. They sell Marceline's candy (like the shop in DTD). You *must* try the oreo brownie. It is delish! They also had a white chocolate/chocolate chip giant cookie that was to die fore! Yummo. They also have caramel, chocolate covered marshmallows. Oh -- and the fudge -- they have these big quares of fudge -- Peanut Butter Cup, Oreo, Pumpkin . . . . Now I will be thinking about this candy shop all day lol :goodvibes

I was there 2 weekends ago and the Bengal BBQ was closed for remodeling. I hope its open now.
I love the Mickey Pretzels too. Also there is a tiny little candy shop next to the Winnie the Pooh ride that sells Tigger Tails. Yummy. It is the only place in the park that has them.
Happy Eating!
Jill

I was there last monday and tuesday and Bengal was open... The riverbelle is closed, but bengal has been open both times I have been there in the last couple of weeks.

My list
Bengal bbq
dole whips
are must haves

if they still have it the pumkin fudge is to die for

what are the trigger tails?? wow sounds like I will need to walk ALOT to walk off the pounds I will be gaining with all the yummy food!!! Oh well I cant wait!!

Yes, what do the tigger tails consist of? I remember reading about them on the food thread at the top of the page, but don't really understand what is in them.

Also, please tell me more about the caramel apples. I've only had traditional ones, whole apples covered in caramel, on a stick. What are the sliced ones like, and the ones mentioned with milk chocolate? They sound yummilicious! Can't wait to try them. Are these both different from the ones metnioned that you can find at Pooh's corner?

First, the good news. The only place that sells the tigger tails is pretty off the beaten path, so you will burn a calorie or two walking there.
Basically, a Tigger Tail is a long marshmallow thing covered with alternating dark chocolate and white chocolate dyed orange. The "cute" factor is a huge part of it's allure.
The coffee at Compass is very good. I've been known to hop on the monorail just for the fix.
Anyone here remember Fantasia ice-cream? I am so nostalgic for that. It brings a tear to my eye and a touch of saliva to the mouth. I mourn it's absence.:sad1:

Sliced Caramel Apple - the best version is available at the little ice cream window if they are open during your visit. The CM will take a perfect, large Granny Smith apple, put it on a big metal contraption, pull down on a lever which cores and slices the apple quickly. It then goes into a bowl of gooey warm caramel sauce so you can dip and eat! Yummo!!!

The other versions of caramel apples are available at the candy shops - they are generally a traditional apple on a stick, but after the caramel they are dipped into other things... like chocolate, etc. They can also be rolled in nuts, cookie or candy crumbles, etc. There is an "Apple Pie Caramel Apple" that is really good, it has a coating of some soft white substance and it tastes like apple pie with cinnamon.

My favorite is the sliced caramel apple - they are available at the little ice cream window on main street back behind the fruit cart. That used to be the only place to get them, but now they also have them at all of the fruit carts - that window isn't open all of the time, so it is nice to be able to get them elsewhere but I prefer the original because they put a fresh apple in the big slicer right when you order it and the sauce is warm.

I didn't know about this, it sounds wonderful!

Other things I like are:

dole whip
popcorn
mickey pretzel with cheese
frozen banana
churro
everything from Pooh's corner:thumbsup2
ice cream from gibson girls

I think I got most of them :rotfl2:
