Snack credits- Something I just learned

As I was just reading someones trip report I learned something new about the snack credits.

You can use 3 snack credits for a counter service meal. She said in her report that she learned about this at MK.

Sorry, but I'd have to see that in some official Disney paperwork before believing it. Haven't seen that in writing as of yet.

I was able to get 3 snacks in place of 1 counter service I had left on my card when we were getting ready to catch ME back to the Orlando airport.
Onc cashier I asked said I couldn't do it.(I knew my brother had just used his this way) I asked another and she said yes I could get 3 snacks for 1 CS.

I don't know if you can use 3 snacks however to get a Counter Service though. My 3 snacks didn't add up to nearly the cost of what the 1 Counter Service would have cost OP.

I would call WDW Dinning line, I have heard this before, but how true, I dont know, I really dont think it is true, but it would be nice,it makes sense, but I really dont know.

i dont know if thats really true, but i would bet if you made a really big stink about it you could. but i would think you would have had to already have used all your actual CS credits .

I don't think someone would just making something like that up. They probably got a lenient cast member who was willing to ring it up that way -- the cast member could have even suggested it. Maybe there are several cast members who would do it this way. I have noticed on my trips with the dining plan I seemed to get different asnwers to my questions about what I could and couldn't get from different cast members.

i did this twice on my last trip....one time at AKL food court and one time at magic kingdom...sorry i meant cs for snacks...but i called and they said yes this can be done but you may have to do this at the desk at the resort..

I am a little confused, If I have seven snacks what does this mean, how can I trade them for cs? and Vice type Versa 7 snacks. is there some type of equation that we use and what should we ask for when we get to the resort? Oh and how long ago was this when you were allowed to do this?

My guess is that even if you call and the CM on the phone says it's possible, you may get a different story from another CM.

I hope this is true! We have 64 snacks a comin'! That's a LOT of food!

i dont know if thats really true, but i would bet if you made a really big stink about it you could. but i would think you would have had to already have used all your actual CS credits .

I would bet that even making a really big stink about it would not impel any Disney Cast Member to violate the conditions of the Dining Plan.

I've heard of people being able to trade cs for 3 snacks, but never the other way round.

Thanks for sharing your experience...This is interesting...Maybe we will try it...Although I do have to say that we enjoy our snacks...Mostly the ice cream sandwichs from Sleepy Hollow and popcorn from anywhere...But it is something to keep in mind.

So this may be true for some and not for others. I was just reporting what I read in someones trip report. I went back to make sure that I was correct about 3 snack credits for 1 cs meal.

Our last full day at Disney.

Well, when we all got up and moving, we headed off to MK for the last time this trip. We grabbed breakfast as soon as we got there at Main street bakery. I learned something there too. If your on the DDP...you can combine 3 snack's and a drink and it counts as 1 cs meal. That may be common knowledge but I didn't know it.

I'm not saying this didn't happen but I think it may have been an error as a CS credit redeemed at the bakery is for two bakery items and a beverage. If the OP of this is talking about getting three rice crispy treats and a coke then maybe, but it doesn't make financial sense to plan on doing this unless you have a CS leftover at the end.

What the trip report says, if you read it carefully, is that they were able to get three snack ITEMS and a drink for a CS at the Main Street Bakery. They did not trade 3 snack CREDITS for the CS. Totally different situation, but...

On our 2006 trip, Roaring Forks at WL allowed me to trade leftover CS's on my LAST DAY, going out the door, for 3 snacks each. Last year at POP, I was not allowed to do this.

Hmmm...maybe what happened was they purchased three individual items with three snack credits, and it was the equivalent of a CS meal? For example, at the bakery:

one ham and cheese croissant -- 1 SC
one raspberry tart -- 1 SC
one soda -- 1 SC

The mystery is solved! At the MK Bakery, you can get 2 snacks and 2 beverages (during breakfast) for a CS credit - translate that to 3 snacks and a beverage
