First timer on the DDP - how do you know if an item is valid as a snack credit. Do you ask at check out or is it clearly marked? Do you have to let the attendant know you want to use a snack credit when you go to purchase? Can some items go towards snack credits and others not? Sorry if i sound confused i just want some advice on the best way to use the credits (to be clear I'm not asking for ways to get the best value for my snack credits merely how they actually work at the point of purchase). Cheers.

They are very clearly marked on the menus. I am not good with change or the unknown and I have used DDP twice without problems or confusion.

Anything available for a snack credit will be marked with the purple DDP symbol on the menu. The value for a snack credit item varies so you can use a mixture of credits and OOP - just let the cashier know which is which. There are no snack credit items at TS restaurants.

Understood re menus - as for other outlets, is the symbol marked on the item? i,e will a packet of trail mix or confectionary have the symbol on it? Cheers.

The symbol will be posted next to the price of the item (usually underneath the item on the edge of the shelf), not on the package itself. :thumbsup2
