The train cars are all connected, so they all go the same speed. Front, middle, back...they are all going exactly the same speed at the same time. The difference is how it "feels" in what part of the track your train car is on when you're at x speed, since the front and back will be in two different spots. You'd notice it most when cresting a hill. The front of the train will be pointing down the hill already when it begins to pick speed back up (after the balance of weight on the train crests the peak). The back of the train will still be finishing the climb, so you'll get more of a "whip" sensation as it accelerates over the top of the hill. But in reality, the speed is identical and so are the motions. Just different sensations because you'll experience that speed at different points in the track depending on where you're sitting. So from that perspective, if you want less whipping sensations, the front is the place to be. Like to be pulled over the crest of the hill hard (I do), the back is the place.
