Smoking

I accidentally wrote her about the person in our group who smokes. It's my daughter's boyfriend. She wants us to stay at BLT because staying at FT Wilderness would make it too easy for him to smoke. She does her share of stomping too.

All disney resorts are non smoking, with designated areas. It'd be best to find out where that is at the fort. I think for camping sites, it's ok at the sites, but the cabins fall in to the "hotel/room" category and those guests are not allowed to smoke on their balcony so i would assume cabins guests would not either. Personally, i think the designated areas should be off of disney property, but thats just me, lol, and i don't want to make this a smoking debate thread.

i suppose i did, ooops. When i see the S word, i can't control myself and have to post!

Since I crossed the line, i may as well go WAY over the line. In June, at the site across from us (500 loop), a man smoked every morning (all day actually), ugh. I wasn't able to sit outside and enjoy the mornings at all. He came over to ask us where we got our cart, cough cough, it was all i could do to give him kenny's name and no.

As of June 1, 2007, all Disney resorts and guest rooms are now smoke free. At Fort Wilderness, you can smoke at your campsite and on the porch of your Fort Wilderness Cabin. You cannot smoke inside the cabins. There are designated outdoor smoking areas in the "public" areas of the resort. Check the resort map or with a Cast Member for locations.

there ya go. i guess the cabins are far enough apart that it is allowed. so much for fresh air in the wilderness!

Open campfires, however, are still not allowed. I wonder what the statistics are for forest fires being started by careless smoking versus campfires?
