smoking rooms at SSR

Hey gang. Someone from MS just called me about our stay and assured me that once more buildings are open there will be buildings dedicated smoking and non-smoking like over at OKW.

So what will they do with the rooms that are smoking right now which are surrounded by non-smoking?

When we checked in last week, we were told there are only two studios left. I requested non-smoking, water view. First room was non-smoking garden view, second option was smoking water view. Obviously I took the non-smoking garden view. SO, being that it was sold out for that week, does that mean that the last person(s) to check-in for that last studio after us were stuck with a smoking room if they requested non-smoking????!!!!

My guess is that the first building will be all smoking rooms once enough of the resort is open.

That's entirely possible. As we all know, smoking / non-smoking is a request, not a guarantee. That applies throughout all of the DVC and WDW properties.
