Smells of Disney

Coming from the UK I would have to say the smell walking out of Orlando Airport, it is a warm, green exotic smell that cannot be replicated in the UK. Also the smell of chlorine reminds me of any Walt Disney World water features and my kids love the smell of the Main Street Bakery - warm cookies mmmmmmmm

I love the fresh air smell as I sit at an outside table at Cosmic Ray's, while eating a cheesburger. Mmmm. Just to sit there and take in all the sights and smells is incredible.

The smell of the Contemporary brings me back to my childhood and I have honestly never smelled anything like it elsewhere. We're also monorail junkies - the smell in there is a classic!

I love the smell of the GCH at the Poly...that smell screams "welcome to WDW" for me. I also love the smell at the Living Seas. I smell the salt water, but my friend doesn't .

Like others have said The smell of oranges always brings me back to the days of Horizons. I miss that ride

I also love the smell of Main Street, the Popcorn around the park, and the Darks Ages on SSE. I can't wait to smell all of it soon!

I miss that orange smell so much... It has been years and I can still smell it now... What about when Stitch burbs in your face and you smell the Chili Dogs... Yuck but i remember it !!!

I read the thread title and did not wait to read the answers. My greatest smell bar none is the smell of gardenia at the Poly. It was May 9, 1988, my very new husband and I being untraveled (him anyway) walked arouund the and I can only tell you the affect that the smell at the Poly had to us! To this day, when we smell a gardenia we always go back to our honeymoon. Gardenia and the smell of a mimosa tree are the greatest memory smells for me. I had a mimosa tree outside my bedroom window as a child, it was glorious.

I had the same thought about Horizons. Ahhh what a great ride. Wasn't the smell actually cilantro? I think I remember that from the Living with the Land ride.

I also love the smell from the Main St. Bakery. yum.

I love the stale water smell of SM (and any of the other water rides).

I have to agree with Vettechick99. I love the smell of the musty water rides. Wow, this is strange. I really love WDW. Obviously. I smelled this on my first trip with my parents at eight years old. The next trip was about 10 years later and I remembered the smell immediatly. Ever since then, I guess it has become my "I know I'm in WDW small."

My absolute favorite smell at Disney is the musty water smell on Splash Mountain! Oh, and I love the champagne in Philharmagic, too.

The smell when you get off the plane at MCO. The water at WDW. The smell of the fried chicken at Trail's End/Hoop Dee Doo. Splash Mountain, Pirates and Small World. The Contemporary and the GCH at The Polynesian.
