I have tried to search, because I know I have read this on this board somewhere, but it's not cooperating. I am finally able to upgrade my smartphone, thank goodness. Been dealing with a cracked screen for a year, praying that it holds on til I can get a new one! Tomorrow is the day!! Seeing as how I broke the thing the last time, considering getting the insurance. Isn't there an aftermarket one I can buy? Or is that just extended warranty for electronics? Thanks!

I believe Squaretrade offers something like what you want. Also best buy has insurance plans but i think you have to get from there.

I have the $10/month AT&T premium insurance plan on my iPhone 4S.

If anything happens to it, the deductible is $125, which pales in comparison to the $800 retail price of the phone.

The peace of mind is worth the $10/month in my opinion.

My dh just got an iphone. He bought a lifeproof (I think that's it) case. It is waterproof, u can throw it aceoss pavement and it is still ok.

If you buy your phone at Best Buy and get their insurance, they do not have a deductable or a claim number limit like the Verizon insurance does. Learned that last December when we upgraded...

Yes, but if something happens to your phone, they take it and send it to Geek Squad to see if it can be fixed and give you a loaner. If not, you'll get a refurbished phone - I was told I would get a new phone on the spot when I got their insurance for both my and my DH's phones (two different times). At least with AT&T's insurance, you get a phone (still refurbished but they tell you that) on the spot if you bring it to a Device Support Center.

If you have a Sam's Club membership - try there. They now have an insurance program that is $99 and includes cracked screens, water damage etc. You pay it up front and it is good for 2 years.

something we learned thru them...and it makes sense...the phones are being UPgraded so fast that its likely you will actually get a NEWER model with any isnsurance plan you take.
We did it thru verizon instead of thru best buy (to cover lost and stolen) which is NOT covered thru best buy....
anyhow, we got it replaced and actually got a NEW model for the lost one..nice

Nope, doesn't make sense when something happens (a known problems) to the phone after the 90 days, and they give you a loaner and then a refurb. I don't like the lies they told me to get me to buy the insurance.
