Just home from Disney World! Had a great trip but photos do not lie and I am HUGE! This is the most I have ever weighed.

So today I started my journey to smaller shorts for me!

Stats:
Starting weight: 276 pounds
Weigh in day: Sunday
Goal weight: 146 pounds
Program of choice: Weight Watchers

I have tons of before pictures for once! :rotfl:

Good morning:
Well this morning I spent some time updating my siggy. Getting ready to walk to Disney and lose 5 pounds for Dec. So I put those up. I also started a journal on AOL too. I thought it might be nice to have another one where other people can see it.

I want to go through my Disney pictures and get my before picture up in my other journal.

Grabbed my WW book so I know how many points I can have a day. I also grabbed a notebook and my Disney pen for tracking. I know that is the best way for me to be successful at this.

I am going to do a seperate post of my daily food. I am on a tight food budget so I really have to work with what I have here and what I can afford to buy each grocery trip. I do try and make homemade stuff as much as I can.

Today I need to finish putting things way from the vacation and do laundry. Not sure if I can get out and walk today as it is raining really bad here. I do have some tapes that I can do though so may have to resort to that instead.

Have a great day all WISHERS!

:wave2:

Welcome - hope you enjoy your time here. Sounds like you are on the right track of where to start and what you need to do - good job!!!!

Keep on
Chris

Welcome to WISH! Sounds like you've got a great plan

Best of luck to you! :sunny:

P.S. If you ever need help coming up with frugal, healthy meals, start a thread on the main WISH board. There's a lot of good cooks here (I'm sure there's some irony in there somewhere...) who would be happy to help!

Welcome to WISH and good luck on your journey! You will find all the support you can hope for here.

Lots of great ideas for frugal meals floating around here. A lot of times I go look at other journals for meal inspiration.

Good luck!

Welcome and congratulations for make the decision to be healthier. It may seem like you have a long way to go, but we all had to start somewhere. I started at 217 almost 2 years ago. I got down to 185 in 6 months w/ diet and exercise, but I've been stuxk there ever since. I recently started on WISH too with the hope that it would get me back on track. I've had good days and bad days. We all do. You just have to try and stay positive. I know that you can do this. Stay strong and good luck.

Congratulations on sticking to your diet so far. It can be so hard to get going in the beginning. I still have too many bad days. Those days when you sleep late really do mess everything up. At least you stayed under your points. Keep up the great work.

Well I woke up at 10:30 am this morning. Again another sleep in day. But now I know why...I have a cold. All stuff and sore throat and blah! I knew it when I went to bed last night.

DS is home too with his headache. Poor kid has had it since Monday. Tomorrow I take him in if he is not feeling better. But I worry about the school he is missing.

Tonight we are having chili so I need to get that in the crockpot and find something for brunch for me. Since I totally missed breakfast again.

One thing I have been doing is keeping a bottle of water next to me so when I feel I want something to drink I grab that instead of a diet soda. I want to really get rid of the soda habit.

Daily points used: 23.5/31points

Not sure how much of it I will eat. I have no appetite at all. I have been pushing the water today. I had one diet coke and that was it. Again I will have to go and look up the points. I know I am not over and have not touched any of my 35 flex points. I also have not excerised this week this week.

Welcome, welcome!! I am doing WW, too, so you will find all of my points listed in my journal. I eat very frugally, and I don't spend a whole lot on groceries. I eat what I fix for my DH, just in smaller amounts! The key is measuring, measuring, measuring. I don't attend the WW meetings, though. Too expensive. I promise, you will get lots of encouragement here. I can't wait to see your results on Sunday!! I hope that you and DS are feeling better tonight. :flower:

Well winter has reared it's ugly head here in Wisconsin...cold and snow. Not a lot of snow but enough to make my happy I do not have to go out.

Got DS off to school with very little arguing. He is just not a morning person and I have to drag him out of bed. I slept for crap last night with this cold. I hope to be over it soon.

This morning I was thinking how when I turn the computer on I come right to the journals. I like to see what people have posted from yesterday and it gives me motivation to stick with the plan. I had no issues with that yesterday, since I have no taste for food. What I do it is me making myself do it. Since I know it is not good NOT to eat.

I plan on catching up on the wash today. I am glad I made the extra meals yesterday so I will not have to cook for a few days. I love to cook but not when I am feeling bad.

I will be glad when I am feeling better and I can start working out. I know that is the key to losing weight. Eating well and working out.

Sunday is my weigh in and I am looking forward to seeing how much I have lost the first week. I am going to guess at least 4 pounds.

Later I will post my food journal. Once I figure out what is for breakfast.

Breakfast:
2 eggs - 4
cheese - 2
20 oz bottle of Coke - 5 (this is the only regular soda I will have for many many weeks)

Made a cheese omelet so I could take my meds.

Total Points: 11

Lunch:
can of tomato soup - 5
cup of milk - 2
crackers - 1

Total points: 8

Dinner:
2 turkey/ham pinwheel - 8
chili (1 cup) - 3

Total points 11

Snacks:
1/2 cup ff/sf vanilla pudding - 3

Total points 3

Total for the day: 33 Used 2/35 Flex points

Side note: DS wanted me to try his cereal. PB cookie crunch. I said no and he is trying to shove it in my mouth. He managed to get a piece in my mouth and I spit it in the garbage. I am so bad but I did not want it and I do not want to be force fed. :rotfl: Now I think DS is also getting my cold. Which I do not need 2 of us sick in this house. One is enough right now.

Also why is when you start a new plan your family brings you food. My dad brought over a ton of those Pin Wheels (Tortilla wrapped with Turkey/Ham etc) DS does not like them and I am so against wasting food that I will have eat them and count the points. I will use them as part of meals not eating them to just eat them. Never fails I tell you!

Welcome to the Wish Boards. I love the title of your thread. I'm hoping that this next summer I'll finally be able to wear shorts again. Dh bugged me this past summer. I never wore shorts once! It looks like your off to a great start!

I went to bed at 9 pm and slept till 11:30 am this morning. I woke up long enough to call DS into school. As he is not feeling good either. YUGH!

Back to not having a taste for anything. I am going to go and get some cough meds. Enough of this. I will get better faster if I eat right and take some meds.

Another freezing day here 16 out so I am not in any mood to go outside. So off to get the meds and make some lunch.

Glad we have a ton of leftovers in the fridge! Cause no cooking getting done here. :rotfl:

I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well. I started getting sick last Tuesday, but never really got a full bolwn cold from it, but I still can't get ride of the cough and a little sniffle. Of course I gave it to my poor DH and he got it worse then me. He's had it since Sunday. He got a lot more congestion then I did. You're still doing really well. Don't let being sick get you down. You may not have been able to exercise, but at least still eating right.
I totally understand the soda issue. I LOVE diet coke. I have trouble drinking water. I know if I just keep making myself do then I'll get to the point where I want to drink it all the time. Of course that will then mean 100 trips to the bathroom a day :rotfl: Keep up the good work and I hope you feel better soon.

Okay here it is. Not very pretty and not many points. I really did not have any desire for food. Oh can this last forever..but let my runny nose and cough go away.

Breakfast:
HA HA I slept till 11:30 am.

Lunch:
Baked Potato- 3
cheese - 1
Sour Cream - 1

Snack:
Burrito - 9
For some reason I was so hungry. And that was the quickest thing I could grab. Since I knew I had so few points I was not really concerned there.

Dinner:
1 1/2 cups of mashed potatoes - 6
Chicken gravy - 2
2 bites of cake - 4 ( not sure if it is 4 but I count all bites of anything that has points as 2 points at least)

That is all for today.

Total for the day: 26 points. For not eating much I sure used a lot of points. I AM not even crazy enough to count the points of the cough meds I took. And for as bad as it tastes .. it sure does work. :rotfl:

I am sorry that you have not been feeling well. I started with the sore throat and now it's just running like nothing else. Hope you get to feeling better soon. I do find the one thing that helps me is Equate CF - that decongestant helps me out so much and then also if anything gets down below it will kick it out!!!!!

I think your weigh-in is going to be great considering you haven't really been able to eat. Just don't be worried if it goes up a bit when you start eating again - and yes, you are right, not eating is the worst thing you can do and I know it's hard when you don't feel good.

Keep on
Chris

This morning my Dad called at 7:30 am.... ugh! Of course he woke me up but the intentions were good. He wanted to take out my son for breakfast, so they could talk. Seems like my niece keeps telling my son that my Dad loves her more. Which really bothered B so I mentioned to my Dad about talking to my sister about it. So Dad came and got him and took him to breakfast.

I gave him the photo card of B. He said I should be in the picture. Same thing my friend Lisa said too. I said not as big as my butt is. Well of course my Dad said I was being silly...I guess as my Dad he has to say that. He also said my Grandma and Aunts would have liked to see me in the picture. I told him I was not comfortable with the pictures I had of me and if I did not like the outcome I would not send it. Besides wouldn't you rather see the kid and not the fat mom.

He said something that really UPPED my motivation. He said have you not looked at your family. Yep! I have looked at all of us and we are not a thin family. The only people I know that are thin are my cousin Muff and my Aunt Venita (let her rest in peace). I want to be the thinner, healthier person I can be. My Dad basically saying that we are ment to be this way. Made me want to do this. We do not have to be heavy because our families are. Sure I agree genetics play a role in how you gain weight, where you gain weight and how easy you can lose weight. I don't think we have to say okay 1/2 of my family is heavy so I will be too. Not this girl! In the next 2 years I will be a healthier happier me.

I know why some of us are heavy. We eat and eat and eat. For example Christmas dinner.... turkey, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes (that I have seen my sister put a WHOLE stick of butter in the pan) tons of cookies and other desserts. Nothing is made healthy. My stepmom is an awesome cook! I won't lie I love going there to eat! None of it is healthy. I have never seen her cook low fat. For years everything was fried. So I know if I change our eating habits here B and I can be much healthier than we are now.

Tomorrow is weigh in and I am looking forward to being a bit smaller and working on the next week.

I love my family but I want to set an example for them and show them we do not have to be heavy. And if we take care of ourselves maybe we would not have the diabetes and heart problems so many of us have. Not me for now...and I want to keep it that way!
